I know it's early, and Falluminum is a few weeks away, but since someone asked...we are scheduling our Spring Rally in Hiawassee, GA athe Mountain Fair Campgrounds on beautiful Lake Chatuge,,for April 11 & 12. Passover and Easter are late in April, and many will have SPring break early so this should be a great weekend for a rally. Sites will be held under Georgia Airstream Campers group, bookable after January 1.
If you are plannig a Spring trip...consider stoppng by our great weekend. This is a well established rally after 12 yrs of fun.

Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds Map...we will be in sections B an C on the lake and nearby section F. Pavillion in section F is where we will eat and have a music jam,,,and more.

I'll add it to my calendar. It helps to get my time-off requests in early and that fits in with the other rallies I already have planned for next year.

Honestly I think I might be able to make this one. I am knocking on the door with being finished with the 1960. All I have to do now is add another electrical box, Axels checked, and get insurance and license. I am having an easier year at work and it is my last year then retirement.

How busy is that campground at that time. We will be coming back from FL that week but don't want to make a sure commitment

Both Springstream and Falluminum have resulted in fully booked park. The past couple of years, there always seem to be a few people who find out at the last minute they can attend thus a sort of waiting list generates itself. I encourage you to make a reservation with the comfort that there is a high probability that if you are unable to attend someone will jump into your site easily.

Agreed, Spring is always sold out. If you think you might come its a good idea to hold a site, reservations open up after new years..

we have been in FL for a year after moving from AZ. we are still members of the FCU group and have been looking for some AS camping opportunities.

looks like Springstream would be fun.

can we book a site now by calling the campground directly?
do we mention the GAC group?
any other pointers would be helpful!

Jon and Deb,

This event (and Falluminum in the fall) are both GREAT events - lots of fun, in a great setting. Reservations, or at least historically, cannot be made until January 1st at GA Mountain Fairgrounds. It just is what it is. But come the new year, get your reservations in early - they will go quickly.

The other event you may want to consider is the one Sandlapper (John) conducts in North/South Carolina - Allumalina; some time coming up in March. We will do both, and they are both a blast!

Yes when you call in January mention the Georgia Airstream Campers group to get in the better section.

We plan to be at this rally and I have a reminder on my computer to make reservations asap in January but that will mean after the New Year rally which ends on the 5th! Unless we can remember while we're at the rally.

I guess I am the first to officially book my site. I will be in B9. Georgia Unit is having their Spring Rally the following week at Top of Georgia. Going to make a double of this trip. It helps to justify the 500 mile plus tow.

Just booked spot B-5 and looking forward to this rally already.

Noticed that another rally follows by the Georgia Unit at Top of Georgia.

Is there a thread for this rally? It might be fun to make this a two-fer rslly.
