Future RV Pads
Okay here are some photos of where the RV Pads will be and the view and or surroundings.
The place is still a bit of a mess - with weeds and we are having the drive re-graded and graveled this summer too. Most of the off drive sites will be wood chip not gravel - and some are grass spots.
First - this is the prototype of the new Garage - the angle is not quite right but you get the drift. Pad #7 is to the right of the garage and pad #6 is to the left of the garage.
Pad #1 2 & 3 (The ladybug will be backed up closer to the red shed and open up Pad#1
Pad #4 Pad # 5
Pad #4 & 5 View
Pad#6
Pad #7
Pad #7 View, Note it will be up beside the Garage (not the best view on one side )

..on to the last 4 pads - Note size is very deceiving
Pad # 8 & 9 (8 on the right and 9 on the left)
Our boat is on a 24' trailer and you can see the frame from the 28' excella
Pad # 8 View
Pad #9 View
Pad #10 & 11 (11 on left 10 on right) That is the 26' Overlander you see.
View from both #10 & 11
Details:
Using main house power ( 1 30 & 2 20's)
1 - up to 34', Gravel
2 - up to 34', Gravel
3 - up to 34', Gravel
Using bunkie power (1 20 and 2 15's)
4 - up to 30' Gravel
5 - up to 30' Wood Chip
6 - up to 25' Grass/Wood Chip
Using Garage Power ( 2 30 and 3 20's) with 8,9,10 & 11 on the new line to be installed from Garage.
7 - up to 20' Gravel
8 - up to 34' Gravel
9 - up to 25' Gravel/Grass
10 - up to 25' Gravel
11 - up to 30' Gravel
Parking for Tow Vehicles - pending the size combo some can stay with the Trailer - others we will find room Along the drive. - May have to juggle in and out depending who and when people want to come and go. Just like the true sense of cottage country you get used to innovative parking.
All spots are back in - but there is no tight turn around - You can pull into the drive now rather than backing down the drive. There is a full loop to which you can choose either to go left or right to position just right to back into the spot. All tree branches will be trimmed up and out of the way.
Last but not least - Pad #1 and 2 would be in for the long haul as they have trailers parked in front. (only negative) the rest can all pull out when and if needed.

WOW this is exciting!! Will you do a trip report along the way? How long will you work there? Full hook-up? Do I sound like I know what I'm doing?

Congratulations, Carol! Washington or Bust! Isn't Port Angeles very close to Canada? It will be beautiful, for sure. When do you leave?
Codybear -- The Ethiopian restaurant we ate at was in Northwest DC, but I don't think it was near any embassies. I tried to look it up, but there are dozens of Ethiopian restaurants in DC and I don't recall the name of the one we ate at. Maybe Doug will remember.
GT - the parking pads look super! In fact, the whole place is looking spectacular. You must be anxious to have it done more than "virtually".

Thanks, I have wanted to explore the area ever since I saw a picture from National Geographic Traveler.
I will receive full hook-up including wi-fi and a salary. The season goes to or through September and they keep one person on through the winter. I said I would leave in two days, they said they would see me in a week or so. I will try to post if I can along the way. It's listing as 38 driving hours and 2500 miles.
So Paula may have to swing South to see you and sample some of that great food and visit Sharon in courtesy parking when your project is all done and I come back East.

Yup, going solo for this job. We are taking separate working vacations for this season. Brad is looking for a National Park job. We only started yesterday, so I beat him by at least one day. Brad was somewhat "coaxed" into early retirement last fall so we are taking advantage of the new found freedom. I also had a llama farm from North Georgia call me yesterday. It seems tis the season for work campers. Washington won out over the Blue Ridge Mountains for this anyway. I'd like to see sights further from home if at all possible.

I am taking the 27'. A quote I read a while back comes to mind, "She who travels light, travels shabbiest." I do tend to over pack though, however this time I may actually end up using most of what I bring. I intend to immerce myself in as much outdoor photography as I can, which really is one of the reasons we thought traveling in an Airstream would be ideal for our interests. I could never go too far or too long without being " connected," or downloading pictures. I'm hooked.

Congratulations, Carol! I've dabbled, researching the workcamper idea, but you've plunged right in. Do you know what kind of camp work you'll be doing? You are the original Rosie, for sure We'll all look forward to your updates with this new experience. Be thinking about you! The Northwest is a real draw for us too...someday soon, we hope. ~G

Hey, Hey Carol!!..you're coming out West!!!..email me and maybe we can meet somewhete's in between Washington and CA!!!!..when we went on our trip last year to Oregon, Washington, Canada, down to Montana, Wyoming, etc, I took along my laptop, and a lot of blank cds..lots of batteries and memory cards for the dig camera..at each campground before I went to bed, I'd upload all the pix from the day's shots, edit, then copy to cd in the laptop, worked so great!!!..must have taken over 2000 pix easily!!..and what's neat about the dig camera, you can just delete, delete unwanted shots!!

That would be cool Paula see what we might be able to do. I might even be able to see Michelle as I breeze by Montana.
I was planning on leaving after they call with the announcement from Michigan to Illinois anyway but perhaps a plane will work out just as well or maybe I will miss it. I couldn't tell you right now I will talk to my children about it first. but I'm going.

Hey those into photographs....
I have been posting to this site for a little while now - but thought some of you might be interested in the link.
I have posted a Spring Gallery - mostly early Spring for us here - not all the big fancy flowers are out yet - but some pretty little flowers found close to the forrest floor have bloomed. Spring starts really here for us when the Blue Flags Bloom - and they are about a week away.
Spring Photo Gallery by ladybug63 at pbase.com
And here is my first go at shooting a bumble bee. The fact that I am allergic to bee stings made me kind of nervous to get this close but they are just so fascinating to watch.
I would love about now to be able to move around my yard as effortlessly as these little guys do.

Carol,
I am in Eastern Oregon for the summer.
Sounds like you have a great deal out there in Washington. Nice area.
Have fun!

Cleaning
This is totally off the subject, but I need some advice. I am cleaning up the Silver Dog House after our spring trip to the south west.
In the hood over the range there is a little, about 6 inch square, metal "filter" below the fan that is now loaded with grease and dust. Can I wash it in the dish washer like I do the much thicker and sturdier ones from my range hood in the house? It is so much thinner than the one in the house and seems fragile.
Thanks
Nancy

range filter
I just take mine in the house and soak in hot water and soap, then use the sprayer on it. But mine is vintage compared to yours. Did your appliances come with manuals? Maybe it is in the manual.
