Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving Silver Sisters,
It sounds as if we all have alot to be thankful for this year. I am especially thankful. Last Sun., Larry had a small heart attack. I got him to the hospital really fast!!!!!!! Luckily, no damage was done. They did an angiogram, found a 95% blockage in the coronary artery and put a stent in to fix the problem. Yay, modern technology. So I am really, really thankful that he is at home with me once again.

It is cold and rainy here tonight. I hope somewhere, one or more of you are able to sit around a great campfire!!!!

Lou

I hope you all had a very nice Thanksgiving and survived black friday. This is one of the few days I'm glad we have a tiny family and shopping isn't much of a problem. 28 shopping days 'til Christmas.....LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!! Good luck sisters and at the sound of the bell......

Happy Thanksgiving to you Lou, and Larry too! I am so happy things are turning out on a positive note - small or not, a heart attack is a heart attack. Larry is very lucky all went the way it did.

We, too, have much to be thankful for this year and in a really big way. Ike - cancer surgery 12/09 - all ok now, home invasion with confrontation & eye injury 6/10 and emergency surgery for ruptured appendix 9/10. It's been quite a year for us but we're hanging tough - most days anyway.

Got blessings? YOU BET!! Life is good.
Hugs to you both from LG,
sue

Thanks a bunch for the precious pink buttons!!

yes

We are very thankful. It sounds like you have had quite a year too. I must have missed the news about the home invasion. Good grief!

Did you ever figure out how to tell all of the other silver sisters about your daughter's pink button campaign?? I think that is a great thing. I hope you are telling everyone!!! Come on girls! Help Sue find some more pink buttons!

I did NOT venture out on Black Friday. Sounded too much like work. I will grocery shop tomorrow. Christmas shopping doesn't have to be done all in one day! LOL! Our family is small too and we can figure it out as we go.

I am missing camping! Wishing for someone to come and camp in our driveway. How many days til Spring??

Wow Sue - you have been through the wringer. Best wishes to Ike for a speedy recovery!

Well I got my itch and made arrangements with some of my classes and finals to get finished on Tuesday this week instead of Friday. I have been watching the weather and if I did not leave earlier my trip south would have been a bust.

So I left on Tuesday and made it to Syracuse for around 11:00 at night. Hit the road on Wednesday at 9:00 just missing all the black ice and freezing rain/slush - although it was tough going to drive 13 hours straight by myself. If I had stayed VA I would have been stuck in all this really bad weather everywhere.

Now safe and sound at Dannies enjoying her fabulous cooking - oh YUM first real cooked meal in weeks as a "starving student" lol.

Here are a few pics of my trip down.

Thanks Sharon, Ike's feeling great and we're hoping the eye iritis (inflamation) will resolve itself - could take months.

Glad you "slid" through the weather and bad road conditions in one piece. Any word on Peter's transplant? We hope he has it soon and does well until that time. (please check your reg. e-mail)

Safe travels for those of you who will be going away for the holiday or have loved ones coming your way to celebrate. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and may you have health, happiness and Airstream adventures in the New Year!!

Sending wishes for the merriest of Christmases and a happy New Year to all of you Silver Sisters. The past year has been filled with difficult events for many of us-- deaths of dear ones, illnesses, and scary happenings, but the miracle is that we've come through that to discover the wonder in our lives--new grands, continued and newly found friendships, bright futures... Safe travels to you and yours if you are on the road during the holidays (Sharon, your pictures chill me!). Max and I will have our four children, their "others" and children in for Christmas, and if we can make safe provisions for our son to manage his days and continue his dialysis while we are away, we'll be traveling in our Gypsy to this year's Can Opener Rally 2011 at Topsail Preserve SP in Florida Jan .2-12. Yea! We've been unable to go since attending the first of these annual A/S gatherings on the Gulf Coast. Here's a toast to warm firesides or campfires for everyone through the season! ~G

Happy Holidays Gals!! Orie and I are at Green River Lake State Park in Campbellsville Kentucky and I have been a warehouse associate for 60 hours a week at Amazon dot com since November and will continue until mid January. I have shed a few unwanted pounds and walked a lot of miles in the "fulfillment center" and around the park with Orie when I am not working my 10 hour shifts six days a week. Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday. I turned 59...I mean 29 years old today and have not ceased to be surprised with what life has in store. I wish you all peace and glad tidings for the new year and remind you to count your blessings and not your problems. Girl power!!! You bettchu.

Happy Tidings of the Season

Hi Everyone! We had a great Christmas here at home with the newly weds across the street joining us for the big dinners and unwrapping of presents. We had family and friends for a few nice dinners. Some of our "silver" friends were able to come and join us as well.
Carol, we are glad to hear that you are doing well. Happy Birthday! Another successful year negotiated! Good for you!
Have safe travels and great adventures! and Happy New Year to all!

Happy New Year to all!

The weather has been awful in some areas of the country, notably in the eastern U.S. and a rather cool south. I hope all is well with our Airstream families and that you are safe and keeping warm. A good time to have a few things in the pantry for several days for sure.

I have wondered about you, Carol, with the colder temps. Still cozy are we?? I'm glad Orie is there to keep you company.

Wishing you all many blessings in the coming year.

~ Sue

Thanks for the birthday wishes all! Oh yes Bob, Amazon has stuff!!! I see such cool things. I keep expanding my wish list. I may have stowed your stuff to a bin or gift wrapped it or even unloaded the pallet of outgoing packages onto the conveyor for its destination. They are giving us shirts that say we survived. The place is amazing and they make it fun. It's a great bunch of people.

Suz I am warm inside, but not so much outside though. Orie loves the cold weather. We have had sub freezing weather and snow and an ice storm or two so far but it will be warming up in a few days. Many campers had their motor homes and trailers freeze up so they couldn't be pumped out but the Airstream hasn't had any problems.

Still I wish I was heading South like the fulltimers to the shore instead of North to my bathtub, but either way I'll eventually thaw out.

Happy NewYear Everybody.
