I am rooting for your acceptance Laura! If not there then I know you will pick an equally impressive and interesting alternative. I like your thinking!!! And I wish you success. I remember my enthusiasm many many many moons ago when I applied to Rodean school for girls in Brighton Sussex England. How I wanted to go on those fox hunts...

Yes, congratulations on making your plans for the remainder of your schooling, Laura. We are all sending very best wishes your way. And, to think that if accepted, you'll be in Traverse Bay...an area we loved and hope to return to for another visit. Only strong positive thoughts allowed now! ~G

Congrats Laura! Looking forward to hear of your acceptance and next adventure!
I as well haven't posted here in awhile, but we hope some of you can make it down/up to Ohio the last weekend in October (29th) for an end of season Honeymoon Rally at Findley State Park. Michael & I start our adventure as husband and wife October 23rd... yikes... 2 days away! When asked where we are honeymooning... well in the Argosy of course, still close to home, but he isn't taking a week off of work for a honeymoon. Just a few days. But we hope to meet up with some good friends to end the camping season for us! So, if you're looking for something to do... come sit around the campfire with us (we may even have our wedding pictures to share around the campfire by then!)

It's almost your wedding day...so exciting. Ours was 47 years ago October 26 and we are now proud carekeepers of a 20' Argosy...we seem to have much in common You're camping for your honeymoon; we'll be camping for our anniversary at a wonderful trout state park here in Missouri. Our Argosy is not yet ready for going on the road, so we'll be taking her big sister, our Airstream, Gypsy. We'll toast your new young marriage this weekend while we also toast our slightly older union Congratulations! ~G

Hey Laura, that is fantastic news. I wish you all the best in getting accepted. What an ideal place for you to spread your wings and get into a field I know you will do so well in.
It is also fab to see that you have a big picture plan for your future education. It is great to set your own personal sights for self success. Just remember to keep all your doors open and if one thing does not pan our quite as you hope there is always something better just around the corner than you least expected.
Glad to hear you are still getting out with your Caravel and enjoying time camping.
I have been itching to get out as soon as the first day of school started. So I am on the road now as I type, enjoyed a lovely day with Dannie - got in late Friday night around 11:30 - ha I was so afraid that I was going to take out a car or tree or even their pride and joy Queenie - since it has been such a long time backing in anywhere - not to mention doing it in the dark and after driving from 9:00 that morning. I was glad to hit the sack for sure.
I head out early in the morning to visit my friend in Charleston for the rest of the week and then peddle to the metal on Friday to get home a decent hour on Sunday. My knee surgery is the next day so this week will be a good distraction. I am staying home the week of the surgery and have all my assignments lined up. I have a bit of homework to do this week so hopefully it will not mess up my golfing tee off times!
Then it is back to school and we are off on the 18th of December to Jan - and I of course do not plan on spending it up in the snow!!! but south with my clubs.
Happy camping and snowbirding to those lucky ones out there. Hopefully I will be able to spend a full winter south by 2012!!! and have some sort of freelance business going by then to pay for gas and put a bit of food in my belly...

WOW! Thanks for sharing your wedding with us Loren and Mike. That video is beautiful, wonderful music and the photographers did a fabulous job. I love the group shots and the candids. I especially like the one where you are on your dad's arm and you are looking back with such a great smile on your face, and the pics of Mike by the car and walking with his friends. All the pictures are so nice. The little ones look so sweet too and the dogs even got in on the festivities. All our best wishes for a wonderful life together.

CONGRATS Loren & Mike - loved the video thanks for sharing that with us. I wish you all the best in your new life together. My bit of advice - always be honest and truthful with each other, no matter how hard you may think things might be at times - for better or for worse. If you can not confide in each other with your utmost inner feelings then who can you with! Communication is another huge key to a successful relationship. And entirely the most important is to have fun in your friendship of each other. A solid friendship will see you through everything in a marriage. Never just rely on the traditional sense of a marriage - a marriage is what you both want it to be. Things will change as you both will grow in life and in your friendship of one another. Be open, compassionate, and empathetic. Leave blaming, jealousy and other useless traits at the front door and never bring them into your marriage.
Lastly - AIRSTREAM as much as you can!

A little update. Came through my knee surgery to the best I have ever felt. Other than a bit of heart burn - ha no doubt cause I was starving to death!! I have had very little pain and feel great.
My surgery was at 1:30 today and I was out of the Hospital by 4:00 He took the full hour to clean the joint all up - thus far I am very pleased with both the surgeon and the fab job the anesthetic fellow did in taking care of me - he gave me the perfect combo cocktail that has allowed me to feel great - unlike any other time I have had surgery. I always felt like crap and sick and it would knock me out for weeks!
I had mixed news on my knee condition. The acute tear I did stepping over the trailer tongue back in march was a big one but at the outer edge so he repaired it rather than remove that section of cartilage. That will prolong the post recovery and use of crutches for assistance in weight bearing and more PT. He did a lot of scar tissue clean up and removal of other long ago damage to parts of the cartilage which should take away the horrible noises and friction within my knee reducing pain and swelling. However, he said my knee is pretty worn out and he would like me to see the new ankle/knee Orthopedic guy in town, even though I am with another ankle surgeon in Toronto. My knee guy wants me to reconsider the ankle joint replacement, as I most likely will need the knee joint replaced first OMG! what next. Although I have been giving this ankle surgery some serious re-consideration. And may just go for a fusion instead. So it will be interesting to see what the new Surgeon may recommend. But for now I will just concentrate on getting through this step. My wrist is holding up nicely in carrying my weight - although I have dropped about 25 pounds since last winter which has helped tremendously.
I had a great trip down South although so very short and was envious seeing all the trailers heading south as I was heading north - ModPod kept saying you are going the wrong way!!!!
Dannie - again thank you so very much for letting me stay - I had a wonderful time as usual. My next trip I promise to stay longer. And hopefully if all goes well it will be the week before Xmas. Did you get your baskets finished?
I had an uneventful drive home - although long I did not seem to get tired. I left Charleston at 2:00 pm and drove till 3:00 am then up at 10:00am (oops slept in for 2 extra hours!!) and arrived home at 9:00 pm. I had a few one hour stops and still had to dump my tanks when I returned home at the Flying J. I took Sunday to get all the stuff unpacked and partly winterized the trailer. Just need the antifreeze now and she will be set until December. In the evening we went to see my Father sing in the The Toronto Welsh Male Voice Choir.
I am taking the week off school and have homework to do and keep busy so that I will not loose any marks - the instructors are really great.
I just found out I won a $1000 Bursary from the Alumni so I am on top of the world. This will help me appeal to the Ontario Government to apply for funding now as the Bursary Committee acknowledged my need for financial assistance.
And the news just gets better - Peter is being listed on the Nation wide donor program tomorrow. They indicate that there is a very good possibility that he will be called with in the next month - what a fabulous Christmas present that would be for him - we are both really excited and keeping our fingers crossed that all will go well. Although it may put a strain on my school, the instructors have all said they will help me through this and I am not to worry. So tomorrow I have to pack a bag of duplicates here and have it ready. We have 6-12 hours to get out to Edmonton upon the call - and not the 48 we initially thought. To Bad I don't have a helicopter license.
Well that is all my news for now.
OH and maybe someone can help me - has anyone had an issue with their converter loosing power and when you touch the circuit board it comes back up. Is there a way to check this out? Will have to do some research outside the campfire - ha it is a big forum out there now - so many threads I will surely get lost in seconds stumbling away from the fire here!!!!
Laura - any news yet - when is your interview or have you had it.
Carol have you moved to your winter location yet? and started the hosting? Tell us all about it.
What is everyone else planning for the winter.
Our Friends Annie and Marvin have made a huge step into the airstreaming world and are going to give "full-timing" a go. Gosh I envy them terribly right about now!!! as yesterday it snowed here and it is really cold for me already.

Good Morning All
Well here we are in Miami... Oklahoma not Fla... lol... on our way to Texas after visiting with Marvin's newphew. Leaves have turned and are just falling off the trees... wonderful countryside. Central time and the change to standard time are really going to play havoc with the sleep.
Sharon, Glad to hear that your surgery is over. tried to call on Skype but no answer. Give Peter our best and we will stay in touch. Stay warm and keep the furnace on. .. Chat later..

Sorry must have been out cold. Next Tuesday I was pretty wiped and the pain and swelling kicked in pretty good. Wednesday I felt better and managed to get through to about 2:00 without any pain assistance. I spent the afternoon with it up and icing most of the evening. Woke up Thursday with most of the swelling right down. Was walking around with just one crutch and was able to bend the knee. Friday was even better and today I have been walking unassisted. He did a great job of cleaning up the knee and I can barely hear or feel any grating in the joint.
My quad is quite weak and I will have to get into some PT when I get back to Belleville. I am heading back tomorrow afternoon to get a few things sorted out. I have to get my lists done and things ready for the Call to Edmonton at a moments notice.
Peter is feeling really great and has got right into Hockey this season playing on three teams.
I will leave the girls with him this week but it will be my turn to take them for 3 weeks as of next week.
I am a bit behind in school work now cause I was not expecting to be out for the whole week. But I will catch up fairly quickly.
I am glad you guys are having a good trip to Texas. I sure do envy you. It was snowing yesterday and today was bloody cold too. I got the ModPod all winterized today and packed up the truck with stuff I need at the farm.
I am looking forward to my Semester break and will be heading south as soon as school is out. I bought the extra RV antifreeze just in case every where is sold out by then.
Dad is going to head south for the month of January so that is nice to see. He is going to stay with friends near Destin for a couple of weeks and is looking into renting a place for another 2 weeks.
Not sure what Peter will be up to for a vacation - he is saving his time for his surgery and will no doubt be off work for quite a while. He is really pumped right now and I just hope it will not be too nerve racking for him - you know the waiting and jumping at every phone call.
Take care you guys and skype me sometime again. I will e-mail you with my schedule at school so if you are bored you can kill a bit of time.....
Hugs and Kisses!!!

What is everyone doing
Hello all Silver Friends
Hope that everyone is well and will travel safely this Thanksgiving week. We are now in our second home of TAHI in Zavalla TX... We have missed all our friends from the south but friends from the north are always missed. Looking forward to seeing friends from Ontario sometime this week and than we will be off to the Rose Parade Rally in early December. Say safe everyone

Hi Sisters!
Just popping in to wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving holiday. Safe travels for those who are doing so and hoping you'll make happy memories if spending time with friends & family. (That doesn't always work so keep a bottle of your favorite handy .... that's what they make that stuff for isn't it??? !!!!)
Sharon, I happy to hear your surgery is over and you are on the mend. Our very best to Peter also.
Sue
