Brad and I are hoping to find jobs for this summer so we wont be signing up in advance for any of the rallies this next season in case we aren't able to attend by being out of the area.

btw, just talked to Brad. He left yesterday morning despite the snow and ice. Tonight he is in El Reno, Oklahoma about 250 miles East of Amarillo Texas and 500 miles short of his destination in New Mexico Desert Haven Animal Refuge Home

Wow El Reno,Ok. I spent my first night there on my way to Las Cruces, NM when I want to get the Caravel. Its just west of Ok. City. 1100 miles from my house....

I asked Laura if you and she might be stopping to visit Brad but she told me you two will be nearly three hours away. Well at least you can share some warm weather together! Not long before you take off for New Mexico.

It's snowing like crazy right now. The roofer just came with a contract. Monday they will shovel the roof and then reshingle it since the wind tore half of it off last month. I envy all you lucky ones going South!!!!!!

Next contact with Brad ,tell him to be very careful and we are thinking about him. Sounds like we wouldn't be seeing any of U till maybe August. Hummmm well I was hopin for sooner but we will survive. So far we have nothing scheduled till August in Michigan. We were hopin for a spring rally but its not lookin that way ,looks like our friends from last yr have other fish to fry.
So hope ya all have a good spring and summmer where ever you are.

Roger why don't you and Marylou plan a spring rally? Lots of Michigan and Ohio folks will be looking to get out as soon as all this white stuff melts!!! There are so many of us. Don't wait til August. The season is waaay too short as it is...course spring will be chilly, if you remember huddling together behind Lou and Larry's van for a wind break for pot luck.

Hmmm, well not to name names, well ok , a few names Lou, Steph, Laura, hey maybe even Ryan can get busy with some planning. How about a "Spring Break Out Rally" thread for Michigan and Ohio in April. We could probably look back and contact the whole crew that showed up at either the spring rally at Lake Mary's or the summer rally at KC's and see who is interested in getting together in spring. Try to flush out participants and then their ideas. It should take on a life of it's own pretty quick, if it's going to take shape. If not you have only a few words and minutes of your time invested.

Im up for it, but I dont know about planning it, being in school full time is keeping me very busy as it is! I am already going to a rally in April, so that is out for me!

Just looked on the map where Brad is.. He is only about 60 miles north of where we will be.. We may run up and see him... That would be fun. Will take pictures to post too...C.J. you may want to warn him .. He may have company.. also PM me his cell number Carol....

Cool, I'll pm you. Or maybe you could meet somewhere in between too. He will have so many places to explore in a new region. What's this I hear about scorpions? I am sticking to bear and mosquitoes. Florida sea monsters and scary desert crawlers unnerve me.

Poor Brad I have been pestering him since he left. I wanted to make sure he didn't slip off into the snow and ice. he said Okalahoma was pretty bad road conditions too after the ice storm.

Here's a couple of pictures he sent me this morning from his phone. The first is the grounds of the animal refuge in Williamsburg New Mexico and the second, going from memory, looks to me like ... sunshine???

Hey Roger - don't think of a Rivette Rally as blocking people out - it is just an additional type of Rally that was not around before. Just a theme and never any set rules as it seems. So those Rivettes that have to travel with their Shavers - heck then roger you just added yet another Rally theme "Rivettes with Shavers" and we are not talking the bic kind neither we are talking ones that take awesome pictures with kiddie cameras... Roger Peter says hello back - and we both hope to see you sometime in the coming season.

Summerkid - HOW THE HECK ARE YOU!! It really has been a couple of years - where does the time go....hope you have been well and have been getting in a bit of camping here and there. Peter and I have had lots of changes over the last couple of years in life and airstreams - but we are still here and kicking - and airstreaming..

Steph crank up those tunes so I can here them as I start packing up - it will get me way way in the mood to head through the mountains ( okay make that mini Eastern mountains) in the dead of winter like an insane person

It has snowed here for the past 3 days - there is to be a break on Wednesday and then snow for a week - so I am breaking out Wednesday at the crack of dawn if it kills me. What I don't have done gets tossed in the back of the truck to do when I get there.

I have lots of little things to do but nothing really major - just have one more Kayak cockpit cover to make - sew up some stuff for Mom and Peter and clean and pack most of the trailer tomorrow. Have a Dr.'s Appointment on Monday & Birthday dinner and then Tuesday finish the packing and load up the Yaks onto the truck - hitch up and head to bed. So a big day of loading stuff tomorrow for sure. I really don't need much and not really taking much maybe that is why I feel like a panic - cause I am forgetting a ton of things... oh wait I think I have to figure out what clothes I might be wearing for a couple of months.... Pack a weeks worth and was every week or pack 8 weeks worth and wash nothing - such decisions.

I just figured out that I will have to cook for myself and do the dishes, and walk the dogs (not just open the door to let them out) YIKES!!!

Hi Dannie - my latest tentative dates - all is really pinnacle on the weather. But Sunday later afternoon till Tuesday Morning sounds like it might be a good plan. I have booked into James Island for Tuesday. And hope to pull into Williamsburg on Thursday or Friday to spend the weekend with Paula.

Hey Clint - you headin to New Mexico wow - watch out for the cacti they are nasty. I remember getting pricked by one golfing - I reach carefully for my ball and just caught my arem - it made me very very sick...

Carol, Brad will have a great time doing the shelter thing. Wish you both luck in your summer jobs I am sure you will land one. Exercise sounds like a great next step in the plan of longevity.(so the smoke free is going well then?...I was just thinking that having to cook for myself might give me a real jump start in reducing my thunder butt and walking might be a viable option as the cortisone shot has already started to reduce the pain in my ankle - full affect after about a week or so. It is marvelous!!!

What else...heading to OMB again this time we get to appeal the Township because they have refused to render a decision on the by-law amendment - holy cow what a spineless council we have. Anyway moving forward again after what a 6 month stall - and they are booking hearing out about 6 months so the Darn Dr. has managed to once again delay us Yet another year!!!!

Mom and Dad looked at a sweet place in Lakefield and are putting an offer in - so they may be set for a final spring move and only 15 minutes from us.

Peter is moving way fast on the garage and he is happy as pig in you know what.

So really just have to give Haily and Taz their winter bath and all is great...

Well the time is here.. you be careful driving in the winter conditions..and get lots of rest before you leave... no staying up until 4 am... we are in Bastrop State Park. It is a gorgeous day here above 0 for he first time this winter I think. Still lots of snow though.
