Good evening Ladies
Hello.... Just wanted to say hello from the sunny south. It has been cool here but no snow. .... We just got out in time. I am working on the 12 step program for all still in the frozen north. Have some Raspberry Chocolat Port by the fire it will help ... tastes good whether you are in the cold north or in the warmer south..

Annie, where do you spend your southern winters? Will you be taking in the Can Opener? Here, I've got to make some room for my dear old dog. He toasts himself on one side and then works himself around to warm up the other with the campfire. Kind of like a marshmallow for a s'more. ~G

Pumpkin pie
Hi Sisters! I went shopping today and found a beautiful twelve inch pumpkin pie at Sam's Club. They are having Holiday taste testing for the next few days. It was a good way to do the shopping and taste test as we went. The pumpkin pie is delicious. I brought it along for you to share. And the whipped cream as well. Thanks for the hot chocolate. Yummy with pumpkin pie. What is everyone doing for Thanksgiving? Carol and Brad are headed to the kids' houses, right? Looks like my whole family is working, so guess we will celebrate on a different day this year. Darn, no leftovers! LOL

Yup we are going to Illinois to see just how big the babies have grown! They'll be a houseful with cousins and all.
Pumpkin pie, thanks Lou. No leftovers...well, we'll all save you some. That leaves you and Larry free to go catch a movie and dinner and have a date night. My daughter says there is a special light display the day after Thanksgiving in her area.
* sniff* What's that? Oh-oh G. I think the pooch has a burning ash on him! Hot doggie! But don't they love the heat?

Good morning Ladies... We are in Arcadia Fla and we will be attending the Can Opener Rally going in a day early for that. In Feb we will be in San Antonio for the Texas Vintage Rally. Stay warm. If anyone is headed to either rally maybe we will see you there..

Annie, we plan to be on Key Largo Jan 4-16, too early for the Can Opener. When we first began making plans, I'd hoped to begin the Florida portion of our trip with the Can OPener, but it's a week later this year, so we'll miss the fun. I don't know yet if we'll stop at Topsail for the early-can opener rally. Just haven't plotted out the nights on the road. We do plan to spend a couple nights in Naples, visiting friends who winter there. Maybe somewhere in there, we'll meet you around a "real" campfire ~G

Brad and I are signed up for the Can Opener and hoping to be able to attend. We will know our situation better when the time is upon us. This would be the third, and would hate to miss it. Also Brad wants to go back to Saint George Island. But things are tight right now. I'm crossing my fingers... and my toes!

Hey that sounds fun Laura. You won't have to worry about towing back into the snow and rewinterizing either. You flying? how long is the plane trip and how long are you staying? Good you have your new phone now too to keep you busy! Are those your grandparents in New Mexico? it's a perfect winter break.

Morning, y'all... just a lazy streamin' Sunday here at the Manchester, TN KOA. Sipping coffee and watching TV. Debating on what to do for breakfast or lunch.
I think today's task is taking our Christmas card picture. I want to use the airstream as a backdrop. Got some backdrop work to do... just hope it all turns out. Going to Home Depot to get some traditional Christmas lights for the awning.
We survived temperatures in the teens (BRRR!) living in our "tin can". We can do anything! We just gotta learn to quit stealing the blankets from each other at night...
So what's everyone up to this week? Tomorrow night I'll head back to the condo for a few days and prepare for Thanksgiving. It's going to be an adjustment going from 250 sq feet to 1320 sq ft! (I've been part-time full-timing it in our Airstream since mid-April).

Doing this week? Housecleaning tomorrow and trying to finish the main body of the colorwash quilt I'm making my mom for Christmas. Daughter Susie comes in after finishing her teaching at school from KC, MO, Tuesday evening so that's when the holiday begins for us. We'll shop some and bake some Wednesday, go visit her grandmother in nearby Columbia, and her sister in Jeff City, and spend some time with her brother and family here in Ashland. Thursday, Max will start the turkey early in our electric roaster and I'll do the stuffing. As kids come in, they'll bring various dishes and pies to round out the dinner, about 4 pm at our house. Parades, football, stuffed tummies, games set out on card tables for the kids, pets in and pets out, until finally someone says they'll drive over with me, and I'll take a platter of "Thanksgiving" to my mom who is too weak anymore to leave home for gatherings. She'll enjoy the home-cooked food and the little gathering of visitors until we all head back home in the dark. Friday, cleanup from Thursday and maybe a little shopping if Susie wants to or if Molly is home that day. She'll spend a big part of the day with her nephews who adore her. What a great holiday, and even with all the stressors, we have so much Thanks giving to give. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! ~G Oh, and if I'm lucky enough to have Susie around, we'll put up some decs for Christmas!

Baking/cleaning this week
Hi all,
We're hosting turkey day and the folks are here for it so it will be even more special to have grandparents and grandkids together!!
Mom's just out of the hospital so it means a lot to us that shes back with us and feeling right again!!
We're trying turkey brining for the first time, has anyone else done it? I'm nervous but when I heard Alton Brown rave about it, I thought ok...then of course I have to make Bob's (Canoestream) cranberry hazelnut hearth bread...wish I could bake cookies like Shari!! Wow those looked cute!!
Happy thanksgiving all!!

Have a wonderful day and may you always be blessed with a loving family around you and plenty of food to eat.
Got pictures, now or then? Post them.
