Pageant of Bands Rally June 4-6, 2005
I am going to put on a couple informal rallies this summer. I've decided on starting a new thread, as the other one was quite large and this one is for this year.
First rally will be in conjunction with the Sherburne, NY 13460 Pageant of Bands held on the first weekend in June. I have secured the park in my hometown from the 4-6 June for this weekend, can arrive on the 3rd if you wish. There will be limited Electric and water. The park has a large pavillion with kitchen and two bathrooms, and a large palyground for the kids.
The Sherburne Pageant of Bands
The Sherburne Pageant of Bands is entering its 55th year in 2004. The three day event features bands from all over the state and even into parts of the northeast. The competitions include jazz band, concert band and parade competitions. All events are judged and bands receive trophies for excellence in these categories.
Next, I am trying to coordinate another rally around the Bouckville Antique Days in August 20-21 but am still looking for a site (in progress).
As I want to do a WBCCI rallly here in August 2006 for the Bouckville weekend (park already reserved), this is my indoctrination into hosting a rally.
So, I'll be there, and hopefully others will be interested too. Just let me know by May 15th.

Other Interests
There is also the Northeast Car Museum (5 miles from Rally), Cooperstown (25 miles from Rally site), the Chenango River for canoeing (1/2 mile from rally site), the Finger Lakes Trail, Farmer's Market (Hamilton or Norwich on Saturday), and just the ambience of a nice small town open to hosting the rally in their beautiful park.
Since it's a Forum Rally, I thought the idea of us just getting together would be cool. No fee to park there, nice and level, and I'll do my best to have water (via the y) and some electric from the pavillion. There is an SOB trailer sales about 3 miles from the site, and I'll check to see if they have a dump station.
More to come. Some info on N. Norwich 13814:

I had my Calendar open to 2006 when I typed this up. The correct dates are 3-5 June, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, where you can come in Early on the 2nd if you so desire. Sorry for the mix up.

From Last years paper
Just shift the dates to the right by one day!
SHERBURNE — About 20,000 people are expected to be in central New York to see 36 junior and senior high school bands in the 51st Sherburne Pageant of Bands on June 3.
The pageant, which was founded by Albert Whitney and Frank L. Miller, is recognized as the largest, oldest and most respected band pageant in New York state.
The bands compete for trophies and ratings, which are determined by judges. Pageant competitions include concert, parade, color guard, jazz ensemble and drum-major events. Schools are placed in classes based on the total student population of the district.
The jazz ensemble competition will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday, June 1 and 2, in the Sherburne-Earlville Middle/High School.
On Saturday, June 3, competition begins at 9 a.m. with concert band and color guard competitions at various sites at the Sherburne-Earlville High School and Elementary School.
At 1 p.m. Saturday, the parade competition will proceed through downtown Sherburne, with the reviewing area on Main Street near the light.
This year, the parade will be led by the Sherburne-Earlville Middle School Band. The final performance in the parade will be by the Sherburne-Earlville High School Band. Following the parade is the presentation of awards at 4 p.m. in the S-E High School Stadium.
Sherburne-Earlville Central School will play host to the pageant of bands, which is sponsored by the Sherburne Fire Department.
There is no admission charge for any of the events.

Park Pictures
Here are pictures of the park where the Rally site will be. We have the pavillion and the large field.
Enjoy. Again, let me know who's coming so that I can start an attendance list.

I've changed this to be a WBCCI Washington, Dc unit rally. Starts Thursday the 2nd, and ends on Sunday the 5th. I'll be posting a flyer in the next few days with everything going on with it. No cost, just a kitty for pizza on Friday night (great NY pizza and antipasto). Let me know!
