I used to play alot of golf, but have not touched a club in many years. My woods are so old that they are made with wood.
Golf scoring made easy,

Every time you hit the ball that is a stroke. Add up all your strokes and you have a score. The lowest score wins.

Variations,

Some players in order to keep their score down use such tried and true methods as the "Foot Wedge" i.e. kicking the ball when no one is looking. The "Bunker toss" You are behind something so when no one is looking you throw your ball. "Creative Math", An example would be actually using 6 strokes but writing 4 on your score card. These are all illegal and frowned upon.

So why take the game that seriously? Try the Milomethod. Cheat, Drink, Lie and don't bother keeping score. And have agood time.

Have you noticed that many golf courses offer pencils with erasers??? Creative scoring is everywhere! It is amazing how many strokes are lost and forgotten when deep in the rough.
It's tough to count in there.

From the looks of the web site, this seems like a terrific event. Have you been before? Where might one camp nearby?

I found the web site to be http://www.quartzsitervshow.com/rvshow.htm

we have been going the past 7 years and have enjoyed it very much. The population grows from appox. 3500 to over 1 million during the winter months. You can stay on Government land for $120 for the season. Lots of snowbirds. We stay in town with full hook up. Its the biggest swapmeet in the world.

Excella----If you've never been to quartzsite you gota go once. More than that is ???? we've been there the past 3 years and the traffic , dust and people are more than we want to deal with another time. That said camping is cheap and there's plenty to do. I might add there is a Bluegrass festival the same weekend in Blyth Ca only 20 or so miles away. It's always great.

We always stay along the Colorado river, except for the first time, the parks there are sooo much nicer than the ones in Quartzsite. I agree with you about the traffic, dust and people but we buy stuff and I mean stuff at great bargins. We have never been to the Bluegrass festival but have heard that it is something to do, maybe this year.

Golf?!!!

Milo:
Golf is my favorite 4-letter word. I'm in! I can probably even squeeze one of the Margarita Ball's little brothers into my golf bag. That way, even if we don't score well, we won't care. Ron

Count us in, if all goes as planned with our towing ability. But I'm not sure we can handle watching 'Alumadillo' sashay down the road in front of us while we lug along! (Have to wait til Feb. or Mar. for the new TV.)
What route are you going to take?

Airdreamer is in Santa Barbara and we haven't worked out any details yet. You and Terry are welcome to boondock in our driveway if you want. We have water and power but no septic. Since you'll have the old TV, tell Terry I'll keep the speed below 60

Oohkay. We just might take you up on that. Terry chuckled over there in his cosy arm chair (great fire going--is it finally winter?) when I told him about your promised speed limit. I think it had a tinge of disbelief in it...
But we'll give it a try! Very kind of you. Keep us posted.

I'll be heading out from the SLO (Central Coast) area and would be happy to join the Airstream parade heading south depending on when everyone is leaving. I do have a bit of a heavy foot though with my little Bambi...
