Hi, Condoluminum. I have to disagree with one thing you said about desserts. No matter how much of anything I eat, there will always be room for ice cream.

I never said "No room for ice cream.."

Bob-

I'd hate to be responsible for harming the dessert table, and I do try to leave a "little" room for ice cream, cookies, brownies and a slice of pie or two.. (Sigh..) I just feel badly about not making a bigger dent in the total dessert supply.. Hopefully there will still be desserts for all..

No!!

Codybear, bring pie! As a confirmed pie freak (we call ourselves "pie-heads"), I need to try yours. What were you going to make?

I can also bring fruit pie. It's strawberry rhubarb season...also peach and raspberry, various other types...I take requests, but only fruit, please. I do cream, but I'd like to stick to fruit if possible, it's my specialty.

OK, so...
I'm in a cafe right now in Fairfield, huge accident on Highway 80 West. I forgot my wallet at home and I almost ran out of gas and my cell phone died. Good for me I found a wifi cafe with nice happy employees who are letting me charge my phone and surf the web.

We were in Yuba City/Sutter/Marysville for a ride around the Sutter Buttes www.bikearoundthebuttes.com. The ride got rained out (at least for me, I didn't do it, it was pouring). However, in my quest for something to do up there, I found Chowhound Boards - Chowhound and subsequently found Stephen's Farmhouse on Highway 99. We are "Road Foodies", so we always try the best BBQ, best pie, best hamburgers, etc. and so we had to go there and try the famous olallieberry pie. My husband says it's good but not as good as mine! Love that Jeff.

So Codybear, what's your crust style? Butter or shortening, or both? Flaky or dough-like? I use the recipe from the KitchenAid mixer instruction manual. Lady at Stephen's Farmhouse told me I should get a "dough blade" which incorporates the dough rather than mixing it, and makes it flakier.

Thoughts?

Cell Phone Numbers

Hi everyone. If you haven't done so already, and want to be included in a phone list for NorCal members, please email me. Include your Name, Forum user name, & cell phone number. I will send out the list via email by Friday to those that want to be included. At our last Rally, we discussed how it would be handy to have phone numbers of Rally attendees to contact in case of an emergency while on the road to the Rally.

Email me at: lindaott@sbcglobal.net

See you all at Casini Ranch!

Air Horn Installation?

We have an air horn to put on our motorhome, the stock horn can't be heard outside the cab Rather than mount it on top we are thinking of putting it in the engine compartment. Anyone have any experience with wiring in airhorns and would perhaps like to volunteer their time to oversee the horn installation attempt?? Cold libations will be provided. If it seems like too much work we will take it to our mechanic.

WOW, I've never heard of anyone complain about their MOHO not being horny enough for them. I'll bring my tools, lets amp it up. If we mess it up then you can pay to have it fixed! DG

I can't wait to help jack-up your MOHO. I will bring my 00 gauge wire cutters and butt connectors. Did you put a band-aide on MOHO #2 afetr you ripped its vocal cords out?

Well, I needed to come in from the hail, rain and snow. I am trying to finish up pre travel maintainence of our car and last minute tinkering on the Tradewind. Yesterday afternoon we got pummeled by hail.(AS doesn't look like a golf ball, WHEW!). It was cold enough overnight that much of the hail that had fallen was still around this morning. So I thought it would be a good time for new tires on the car. The sun broke through it was still cold. But soon after we returned home it began to snow....flurries of popcorn snow. So good people do you know what this all means. THE WEATHER NEXT WEEK WILL BE BEAUTIFUL!

Wow! Sorry I'm going to miss this! I put one in my Miata, but that's quite a bit different than a MOHO. It sure made a lot of noise, and coming from such a small car had a tendency to scare folks.

Hey Timemachine

We left MoHo #2 airhorn in place and got an airhorn that sounds like a fire engine!! It is probably 3x longer than the horns currently on our #1 coach, it will probably be mounted parallel to our grill which means the co pilot will get the major hit of the horn BUT we will be heard!!
