Well, being behind the 'redwood curtain', and all, I'm not qualified to answer. We have our own weather pattern over here. But, I'm hoping it will be sunny. Cause I'm pretty darn tired of the clouds/rain/wind...

This morning in the foothills it is sunny and a little cool. The Sacramento area is predicted to be sunny and in the 70's for the week. It is difficult to say what the coast will be based on our weather unless there is a pending storm. Sierracoast will get those before us. If he/she has sunny weather we are happy.

Trailer check-up.

As veteran of several Casini's, I'd forecast you can expect any weather from rain showers to high temps in mid 80's... Average weather is sunny with temps in mid to high 70's... Having missed a couple trips when trailer refused to come out of hibernation on demand, I thought I'd post a "Casini Ranch Check-up Plan for a couple hours on weekend or evening PRIOR to the event, while there's still time to get to a parts store or shop...

1. Open main water tank drain, check levels in holding tanks, close drain valve and refill or flush and refill fresh water tank
2. Check battery fluid levels, add distilled water if needed, plug in to charge
3. If unsure about Propane tanks, remove and weigh/shake/check supply
4. With tanks back, open Propane valves, turn on Leak Detector, test stove burners and propane flow
5. Turn Refrigerator on to 110V, check back in an hour for coldness
6. Turn on water pump, listen for leaky toilet flush valve, check pressure and for leaks (do this when fresh tank has water in it..)
7. Fire up hot water heater after propane running and water in tank, make sure it will eventually start.
8. Check furnace for wasp nests, etc, and test-fire furnace
9. Check for supplies of fresh and holding water filters, chemicals, etc
10. Hook up a hose, and see if "City Water" piping and fittings are OK.
11. Switch refrigerator to propane, and see if it converts and maintains cold.
12. May leave on charger, but shut down propane, water pump, water heater, disconnect city water hose.
13. Test internal and external lighting and fans/vent covers
14. Check tire condition, tread and air pressures. Adjust or react as needed.

I know these won't address possible issues with bearings or brakes, but those are annual kinds of checks.. This list will give you notice if something needs to be addressed that might otherwise cause you to have to book a motel room along the Russian River, or to bring a tent...

The food and Margarita Ball and other life-sustaining fluids are on a separate checklist....

Too late to crash the party?

Hey Y'all!

Okay, I've got the rally bug & now I'm trying to squeeze my way into the rally. Is there any room for me & my '67 Tradwind 24'?
Or can someone smuggle me in?

I have Open Studios in SF that same weekend, so I didn't sign up, but now I
want do both. If it's too late, there's always the next one...I'll just have to find my own margarita ball in the meantime

Thanks,

~Kristiana

Working thru checklist

John; Thanks for the reminder to do the pre-flight! I got new shoes for the burb today and when I told my tire guy I was gonna try to squeeze another summer out of my 1995 Marathons -He started to squeeze me real hard! So I'll be putting on Carlisle's next week. Only U.S. tire he could get me. So here's a few shots of the things I been sorting out for the Ca'zin'i run. DG.

One more for the Pot luck list

I am glad that someone is prepared for Casini! I.I. the Zin.Captain! (DG)

As I review John's (Condoluminum) list, I realize that I have failed to sign up on the potluck list...decision...decision...
After a couple days of coke withdraw, I am craving for anything infused with that devilish substance...so here we go..."Coke Addict Craved Baked Ham" it is!!! If I feel creative or CUI (Cook Under the Influence), I might invite Captain Morgan in the mix...

Big D, please put me on the list....quick! Before I change my mind...

DG; My son and I used to really enjoy fried Spam sandwiches when camping. It tasted great when camping but not at home. Every thing good or bad, tastes good camping. And I bet even better with a Zin....or 2.

UH,OH, I feel another pot luck dish coming for Saturday night! Really though, Todd, our son and I (just the 2 of us) always enjoyed frying up slices of Spam on the camp gridle and making sandwiches but when we did the same at home neither of us cared for it. I will have to ask him if the Navy serves Spam.

Amended Checklist?

Doorgunner-

My proposed pre-flight checklist really didn't cover "Trailer Reconstruction" as you're attempting, so you might skip some of the items, if they're still missing at the end of April... I did appreciate the photo of the "flight-ready" refrigerator, and realize that shopping run prior to the trip is a critical step also... In your case, I think I'd add "Backup Corkscrew.." to the list, just in case... I assume the cooler shown on edge of one photo was for any misc food items that might be needed and wouldn't fit into the refrigerator as currently stocked...

And for Kristiana... I believe there will be an adequate supply of Margarita Balls.. Might run short of contents, however, or ice...
