Back on the road

We're happy to report that (so far as we can tell at this point) we'll be there, and we'll actually be in a camper this time. We have a new axle, new wheels - and are relatively certain that, unlike last time, nothing essential will fall off enroute.

That's great news. I seem to remember some body damage too. Is that all taken care of?

Yahoo Steven!
Lets get you and the family to Casini. Your Argosy has been sitting in the shop for to long.
Call Casini directly at 1 (800) 451-8400 and let them know your with the aluminum convention. If you only need water and power, pick a space number begining with F-1 through 20. I think we have a few already in row F. If you want full hookups, 1A,1B, or 1C
This time out we will caravan to the rally. Jeff

Trader Joes?

Are there any enroute from SLO? We will need to restock at least once since we are leaving the Saturday before.

Trader Joe's

There are 5 of them north of SF right off 101. I considered the size of the the Tiki Lounge with Thing, and figured this one would be the easiest to pull into:

Caravan

Anyone coming from the north? I'll be driving from Seattle to Long Beach, WA, then all the way down 101. I'll be talking 2 days from Long Beach.

Trader Joes in Petaluma

We have a Trader Joe's in Petaluma, which is off of Hwy 101 BEFORE Santa Rosa.
Click on:trader joes loc: Petaluma, CA - Google Maps

Note: the Washington exit is hard and fast so slow down and stay right. After the stoplight turn right and merge into the farthest left lane (if you can). You'll turn left after that, preferably before the next light. The light has a huge dip, so careful.

The shopping center also has a Long's Drugs, K-Mart and Big Five and Petco.

From that spot, you should exit left ( don't go backwards, it's too difficult to negotiate) and proceed North on McDowell Blvd.. for a few miles and then go left at the light (Penngrove). Stay in the R. of the left turning lanes. (OSH & Burger King are on the right-hand corner). Stay in the right lane and merge onto the 101 freeway. It's less than an hour from there to Casini.

If you go the other way (left) on Washington there's A Whole Foods, just in case you're interested.

There's also a Costco off of the Rhonert Park Expressway exit (between Petaluma and Santa Rosa) and the Hearn Blvd exit, which I don't recommend when youre pulling a trailer. Too much traffic.

There are also a ton of stores in Guerneville, so don't panic.

Gee it sure was nice today here in the Lodi Appellation area. The cherry trees are in full bloom and the vines are getting their buds going. It's all good!

Great that our rally friends from way up north, Don and Claudia (NorCal Bambi), have confirmed and will be there Friday. They were great neighbors at LSA and I look forward to seeing them again.

We are still growing. The list gets longer by 1 or 2 everytime I repost it. What will the final count be? One thing for sure, this is one big rally!

Convoy

Thanks Big Dee for the positive comments. It looks like we will meet sequoiacoast part way down 101 and drive the final distance to Cassini Ranch. They are going to be the first ones to join our Coast to Coast "Snow ball-Convoy Rally across the U.S. We had our first discussion on the VAP with Tim, Rob, and Collin last Thursday. It was great fun. Maybe some of the Cassini group would be willing to start out together with us as we leave and head south after the rally. We will be heading south then east as we work on the next leg of our trip. I'd like to share as much as possible with all present. So on the next VAP Claudia and I can share Cassine ranch with the VAP audience.
I think we did a better job of explaining the purpose of this trip on the VAP interview.
If you have time take a listen.
