coolness

We'd be honored to be wrapped in foil. I once had that done to my cubicle at work. Plus, aliens won't be able to read our thoughts.

Otters, bless your heart...but if you saw the interior of our rig you'd know how far we are from being done. In fact you'd all shoo us back home to get back to work on it! I wonder who the Alamedan with the vintage was? Hmmmm...

Kevbo: heads up. You are "That tall funny guy with the lightsticks". Pack the lightsticks or answer to a very disappointed 8 year old. And to her mother who will have to explain to her why he didn't bring them this time. You've been warned...

Wino Respects Due

Well folks I'm sad to say that MR. Gallo passed away late yesterday afternoon here in the central valley. 93 years young an icon in the wine business, started poor ended up with millions.
DandB== welcome, yes you will be close to some fine wineries near Casini.
Buttercup== I'm curious as to your special Lodi fave, care to fill me in?
Kevbo== whats with the powered milk, and I have no problem drinking from aluminum while in aluminum or anywhere else on the planet, or above the planet for that matter.
Ingrid== nice chatting with you last nite, I'm looking forward to the RED TENT, how's that look with the nite light on?Some kind of glowing orb I guess.

Look at them ohderves, ain't they sweet, little piece of cheese, little piece of meat.

BTW Big Dee== Linda Lu is wondering why she has not been added to the "list" yet. Something to do with the WPP? You would be remissed-

Any other watercraft?

Wineries??

DandB:

Welcome! The closest major winery (sort of..) is the Headquarters and main cellars for Krobel Champagne, east of Guerneville on Russian River Rd... Before 3PM, you get tour of champagne making, plus tastings of interesting varieties of "sparkling wines".. Also nearby is Kendall Jackson (just off Hwy 101 at River Road). Beyond these, there are dozens of smaller wineries.. Try looking up Sonoma County Russian River area or Healdsburg area wineries, and you'll see a lot of choices...

And a moment of virtual silence for Ernest Gallo, whose skills in distributing drinkable wine in economical gallon containers helped many of us through college back in the day... Had a Biz School Prof help me decode the date codes on Gallo labels, so we could know whether a particular Burgundy was from a "good Month..." Also explained that there was only 1 winery in Modesto, so ANY wine from Modesto, CA was made by Gallo, under more than 35 brand labels back then.. He worked on Marketing Project at Gallo when their bottle plant was producing 1 million glass bottles/day in Modesto in 1972, and shipping a 15 car freight train of wine daily, in addition to truckloads.. That was before wine really became popular... Still family owned...

And for St8strm, I assume the water is to put out campfires...

Pause for Mr. Gallo.....

Thanks for the suggestions. We are big fans of Lodi Zin, Paso Robes Rhones and Oregon Pinots but when it comes to wine its all good.

Anyone ever had Japanese ShoChu? The closest way to describe it is to call it Japanese Vodka. Its made from either rice, barely or sweet potato the later being the best IMO. Stronger than Sake but not as strong as Whiskey - and I can personally atest to the fact that it improves your Karaoke skills . I will bring a bottle to share but I am not responsible for any random acts of Karaoke.
Cheers

I'm sensing a "heli-chop-ter" theme brewing! First Doorgunner and now....Reno-D! Is that a Search n' Rescue unit? At least we'll have the rescue on standby. Oh, and welcome to NorCal!

Apparently the only hard part of this rally will be the morning(s) after.
Doorgunner better bring extra coffee...

(Hey this is my 1000th post and I'm still waiting for my 500 post rivet master check. It's in the mail, right? Now does this mean I need to bring 2 rubber chickens, 2 hula hoops, and 2 hats to the next rally? Just wondering...)

Rickie

Please note my new name to be Rickie. I'll have to get it approved with WPP, that may present a problem as I've not been the "model" relocatee. And no I do not own a winery, I just protect one,
I'm the VCE on 17 acres, mostly vinyard with a few pastures for the dozen or so horses boarded here. When the mares drop the little ones the coyotes smell the milk and try to interfere with the mom and child thing. Thats when I get the call. boring I know but so it goes, It's difficult to find real work without a real identity. DG
