Newport Seafood and Wine Festival Rally

Hi all, I have kind of an absentee lately, but rest assured I have thinking about Airstream Rallies.

So.....I am willing to do a Rally in February on the Oregon coast...again. Last year was a bit exciting and ....wet. I can get the yurt for the day or for the duration of the rally. The question is do you rally goers want to do a rally now or wait until later in the year. I am itching to go camping at the moment, but looking at the forcast for snow tomorrow makes me think twice. I don't mind towing in the snow but I realise that others do not.

Also I am looking into getting us into the winefest as a group which means past everyone waiting in the line.

I have reserved G - 16 thru G - 26. I have G - 23. I am staying Sunday night as well.

I have the yurt meeting hall for Saturday - all day. I think this will be a good spot for the Saturday dinner!

The sites are reserved for Friday night and Saturday night. If you wish to stay longer or arrive early, that will be up to you to make those arrangements. If all the sites are spoken for there are more available, however, it will be up to you to make a reservation for that site. I know that G - 27 is taken but other than that the loop is pretty much open.

Some of the sites are a bit short so those of you that have longer trailers please take a look at the map before you pick a site. Park Map

Here is a link to the Main Page for the Park

The dates are : February 22, 23, and 24, 2008

It's a bit of a gamble for us. We will not tow in the snow, but I don't mind paying for our spot, and if we can't make it when the time comes, then oh well. The yurt for gathering in sounds like a good idea though.

I am very mixed... on the one hand, after BB we parked the airstream in front of the driveway (instead of her long-term spot) because we thought there'd be at least one more trip before spring- she's still there... and on the other hand Mark and I just said, where should we go next- another Oregon trip- but this time no rain!?! We're 3 for 3 on the rainy coast trips so far.

So, I want to go, but I don't want to go in the rain, but I would probably go if everyone else is going, cause I don't want to miss anything....

Bummer!

We already booked a 'flight' into the return of the peeps in AZ with a tour around the area so we'll be gone for most of the month. Have a great time tho. We'll catch up with you-all this summer somewhere.

Forgot the date !

The dates are : February 22, 23, and 24, 2008

The Campground will be South Beach State Park if it happens.

I need at least 10 units to make it worthwhile. I also need 15 people to attend the fest to get a group rate at the fest, this includes getting in past the huge line outside.

That's 15 + devoted rally goers, those who will camp in almost any weather.

We'll think about it. After 2 1/2 years we finally have our trailer at home instead of in storage, so a weekend trip "should" be easier.

That's the best part about the beach, there's always something to do. After all, we don't drink and Dave's allergic to seafood, so the whole 'seafood and wine' thing is wasted on us But it's always a fun trip anyway!

We've done this rally for several years and never made the festival either ... we always have waay too much fun at the beach.

Stefrobrts and Janet Thanks! I agree. It was a fun trip last year and will be again. We just need a few more to sign up.

I just came up with a small problem. I will be recovering from minor surgery. I will try to move it up a week so I can make it.
