Janet,
So if you are towing the chello player how are you getting the trailer to Newport? Wouldn't it better if she rode in the truck and you towed the trailer?

We're going to have to skip this one. Alki and Barclay aren't getting along well enough to trap them in a Caravel together for a weekend, and I'd feel like a traitor leaving Alki home! I think we'll just stay home and keep working on it.
I asked a few friends if anyone might want my spot. I'll let you guys know if anyone takes me up on it.

Blood is thicker than Aluminum this weekend . We won't be able to make the rally. Our son needs Glenn to help pull 3 trailer loads of candy equipment from Bend to Seaside on Saturday/Sun. He had to have it by March 1st and the weather has been so bad that he is down to the wire this weekend. I'll go to oversee Have a great time and may the weather be with you. Sorry about the Fri. nite clam chowder, next time.

Hi All
We're picking the Silver Slug up on friday from Sutton's. They've been plugging leaks for us and what better place to test out their work but on the coast in winter. So we plan to join you on Friday. We haven't reserved a spot yet and see that Blue Pearl can't make it this weekend. We need a big spot as newbies to the trailering thing. So could we take G29 and reimburse you, Blue Pearl?
Sorry for the last minute notice.

Safarisogood, We cancelled our site, so best bet is Chris's sites. You guys have fun, I'll be putting duck tape over tubs of nuts and bolts all weekend.

Now that all you light weights have left the party has really started. We had a buffett to die for. Smoked salmon, crawfish, cheese and crackers, smpked sausage, ham and chili/garlic cheese. The evening is finishing off with a round of scotch by the fire.
I hope all the rest of you made it home safely...

I am so jealous even though I do not drink much scotch!
We had a great time with ya'll!
AS folks are the best in the WEST and every where else for that matter.
Michelle, thanks again for helping us get the trailer hooked up and running Friday night. I would still be looking for the water heater by-pass valve if it hadn't been for you.
Thanks also the the vent cover. I see now what you meant about mine being so beat up. I will replace the old one tomorrow.
Have fun as long as you can.
Travel well!!!
Thanks again,
Wayne P>

Scotch??? They told me we were out!
We just got in. It rained all the way home, I think it was drier at the each. We had a great time - thanks Chris for putting this together.
We stopped into Devils lake on the way home to check out Campcollectors digs and then had a very interesting lunch in Lincoln City. Ask me about it in person sometime....

We had a great time getting to know everyone. Thanks again Chris for organizing this. I was just reading a recap of the Oscars and saw that Carmela's cousin's movie "The Counterfeiters" won best foreign film (if you didn't hear the story, he wrote the book the movie was based on). How cool is that?
We're already looking forward to the next forum rally. Hope to see you all again soon!

First- a big thanks to Chris for assembling the aluminum tubes in Newport,
2nd- Thanks to Janet and Michelle for helping me back in the trailer my first time, and mostly for not laughing too hard while I was present.
3rd-it was great to meet fellow ASers for the 2nd time(Bev.Bch.Bsh) and others for the first time.
4th-thanks to Catsandi Michelle for the sta-bil and the generator 101 class and the crawfish all the way from Looosiana! Merci! (P.S.-torque=110)
This was much more on a small scale, I thought there were always at least 60 or more trailers at these rallys!
Happy trails to all! We hope to see everyone at other rallys soon!

Another Great Rally in the Bag
I am glad you all had a great time. I was pretty happy with the weather this year. It really can't get too much better on the Oregon coast this time of year.
I did take a tour of Devils Lake State Park, Campcollectors digs, kinda soggy. I think it would be hard to have a rally there unless it had been dry for a while. I saw two sites that were completely underwater . It would be a great place in the summer I think. Close to town for sure.
I went all the way to Tillamook,OR. and came home on hwy 6. A much more pleasant drive than the freeway. They are still doing cleanup from the storms up there and there was still snow on the side of the road over the pass.
Here are the only pics I took.
Crawdad Fest !
Frank and Loren enjoying scotch and cigars.
Checking out the Oscar results.

Chris,
thank you once again for organizing and being a great host! I drove all the way up to Astoria and back down US 30 to Portland. It was a nice drive.
I spent the night in Fort Stevens State park. Much better in the summer than the winter very shaded, slipery and damp.

You're welcome. Thanks for the crustaceans. They were good eatin !
You must have been in the older part. It is quite a bit darker over there than the newer part. My Aunt and Uncle work-camp there during the summer every year.
