Looks like about 5 hours for us. Could we make arrangements to get there Thursday?

I don't see why not as the field is available at this point. I was also thinking that perhaps the New England folks could try to caravan down together. My initial thoughts were to leave first thing on Friday morning as it will take about six hours for those in Massachusetts. Additionally, I was thinking we could head back first thing on Monday morning with a stop at the IKEA in Elizabeth, NJ. We don't have IKEA's up our way so I'm always on the lookout for a reason to stop there!

What is a IKEA?
Thursday - Sunday usually works better for us but Friday-Monday may be possible. Lets reserve the field and take it from there.

Check out their website .

You can order via mail but it is much more fun to spend a few hours at the store because there are more products in the store and you can "touch and feel"! The layout of the store is unique too -- the main floor is set-up with "rooms" where all accessories and furniture in the room is for sale. You are supplied with a notepad and pencil so you can keep track of what you want to buy. About half way through the store is a cafeteria with regular and Swedish food for sale so you can take a short break from shopping to grab a snack. The last half of the store is what I call the "marketplace" where you shop like in a convential store (the products are on shelves).

I'll try to make it!

I'll put in for 1-2 October for leave, most likely the Friday and Monday before and after. The wife can pull the Caravel down from NY, I'll drive up from NC, and we'll meet there. IKEA is one of our favorite stores.

Rob

Where is this camp ground?

Hey Rob you could do the bay tunnel thing and the Cape May Ferry. A whole adventure before you even get there.
Y... are you making a list for head count?

That's the plan

I am planning on doing just that. Anyway, we are taking the ferry from Cedar Island to Ocacroke, NC and then one to the outer banks for the OBX rally August 15th. I like taking the Airstream on Ferrys...it gets alot of looks, the Burb and 34' Airstream, we take up a whole lane.

New Jersey Forum Rally Poll

Let's vote to see how much interest we have. Kimili suggested Jersey Shore Haven in South Seaville, NJ but feel free to chime in if you have another suggestion.

Note, you can choose more than one poll item in this poll; please vote for both the date and location.

The campground isn't too far from South Jersey RV. I really like going there.
They specialize in Airstreams so there are always alot of them to check out.
It's like a rally with no people to throw rocks at me for playing mandolin.
Ouch.............................................. ....I'm o.k.

How does one reserve a site for that weekend, through you or directly through the campground? Is this Rally open to none WBCC Airstream owner?

I am just facilitating the discussion of a New Jersey forum for October. Right now, I think we are just testing for interest. I posted a poll the other day but no one has responded to it as of noon on 7/27.

I'm hoping that someone from the New Jersey area will step up and run with this rally. I'm not even sure yet if I can make it or not -- I may not have any vacation time left for the trip.

The Jersey Shores campground is an Airstream-only campground. If non-Airstreamers are interested in attending, we should look for another campground.

Hi everyone!

I'm so glad to see so many of you interested in a Rally in NJ.

We can definetly set it up for everybody. All I need is an approx. headcount so I can make the reservation, I'll then post details and road directions for anyone in need. Sounds like 7 to us:

1) YUKIONNA
2) US - KIMILI
3) MANDOLINDAVE
4) HOWIE E
5) CRAFTSMAN
6) ROBANDZOE
7) OVER59

Is this correct? please pm me to confirm.

The AS park is open to all AS owners. Non AS's (sob, white boxes etc) are accepted as guests only and for a limited stay.

For the rally it is not mandatory to be a WBCCI member.

If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact us. We apologize before hand for our tardiness in answering but work is crazy right now. We will get back to all questions it just might not be right away.

Thanks and we look forward in meeting all of you soon.

ikea

...by the way IKEA in Elizabeth (Newark) is right on I-95, the way home for most of us and best of all it's only 3% tax!!!!!!!!

There's another Ikea further up on the intersection of GSP, Rt4 & RT17, Paramus but it's 6% tax. This is the largest shopping intersection in the USA, more stores and malls per square mile!

Our CCD has lots of fun and handy Ikea items!

Nj Shore Airstream Park

I have just reserved for us the weekend of October 1, 2, & 3.

To confirm your reservation just call Karen or Marianne at the park office and say you're part of the "Airstream Forums NJ Rally Oct 1,2,3".

Tel 609.861.2293

The price is $22.00 per night in the rally field with water and electric included.

No problems for who would like to arrive a day or two earlier.

Depending on the weather the heated pool should be open! So bring your bathing suits and towels - did I mention it is lovely and heated!!

Also, I was working on a program for the rally and have reserved the pavillion (kitchen included) for our use for the entire rally period. How does this sound:

Friday evening: "Ice cream social" - we all meet and greet each other

Saturday afternoon: "Happy Hour" followed by "Pot luck dinner" - everyone bring their favourite dish and let's all share

Sunday morning: "Brunch" - time to say good bye and head back to work

Hope to hear from everyone soon!
ciao

Threads gone

Looks like the Vermont and NJ Rally threads have been combined under the NJ Poll thread. Some will not be able to find the Vermont info if they haven't been paying attention.

I'm not sure what happened. I put in a request yesterday to have the NJ poll added to the NJ thread. I will follow-up to see if we can get the two separate threads restored.

I merged the wrong threads last night. I think I have them back in their proper places and I have added the NJ rally poll to this thread.

Sorry for the confusion
