Mount Baker Rally?
...anyone going to the Mount Baker Vintage Trailer Rally August 18-22,in Washington?
We attended three years ago and although it was small gathering,we had a blast. It has since grown and I was told they had over 60 trailers last year. This is for all vintage trailers,so it's neat to see some other types.
Looking forward to it!

That's the place to be now!
With all the sweltering heat around the country, Mt. Baker sounds pretty inviting right now.

We are intending to go this year which will be our first time. We live in Cloverdale so it's an easy tow.

Is that the Tin Can Tourists rally? I keep meaning to make it, but again this year I'm already booked up. I've heard it's a great rally!

We'd love to go...
it's practically in our backyard, but we too will be on the road, somewhere between CA and WA on the coast.

OK - we are definately going. I made reservations and it sounds like a great time. Grassy camping, hot showers, a pizza feed and swap meet! My idea of laid back fun.
Here's the info off the Tin Can tourists website:
Mt. Baker Vintage Trailer Rally
August 18 – 21 2005
Please join us for our 5th annual Mt. Baker Vintage Trailer Rally located near Bellingham, Washington at the Deming Log Show Grounds.
The focus is all vintage trailers & motor homes 25 years and older. However ALL RV’s are welcome. (Just be “an old RV’er at heart!”)
The rally site is quiet with grass, trees, and there are numerous antique logging equipment displays to view. There are clean restrooms & a shower house is available. Thirty power/water hookup sites (first come first served unless there is a medical need) and unlimited “dry” camping is available. There’s a small playground for the children. Children & well-behaved pets on leashes are welcome. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. There are water taps available for drawing water and there’s a sewer dump station at the grounds.
A nice grocery store with gas is close by on the Mt. Baker Hwy. Area attractions include Mt. Baker, the Nooksack River, the Nooksack Tribal Casino, mt. biking trails at Lake Padden, the Dutch town of Lynden, an old time country store called Everybody’s Store and lots of country roads to explore.
A potluck dinner is planned for Saturday night. Friday night will be a TCT sponsored PIZZA and Salad Feed). There will be vintage trailer video movies in the evenings and a nice campfire to visit around after dark (weather permitting). This will be our third year for a swap meet/flea market on Saturday so please bring any household or trailer items, craft/hobby items, and/or any miscellaneous items you’d like to sell at this event. We will have it in a covered area again this year so no worries about the weather.
California Photographer, Doug Keister, will be attending again this year and taking more pictures. He will be giving a presentation on his latest book creation.
Parking is $10.00 per night water/power hookups and $5.00 dry camping. The rally fee is $20.00 for TCT (Tin Can Tourist) members and $25.00 for non-members per unit for the four-day event. Early arrivals are most welcome.
Directions: Take I-5 to exit #255 in Bellingham, WA, the Sunset Drive/ Mt. Baker Hwy exit. Head east on the Mt. Baker Hwy towards Mt. Baker until you pass mile marker #9. Then at the bottom of a hill turn left onto the Cedarville road. In about a mile the Deming Log Show Grounds will be on the left. We will be camped in the back away from the little country road.

Head For the Hills
Boy, I sure would love to join in; however, I'm still workin' for the man. It would require lots of time off and lots o' money for gasoline. Perhaps one day after I retire, I can come out to the West Coast for a rally. Have Fun!

We'll be there Friday after work. Pat said they already have 55-60 signed up, and more will probably show up. Can't wait!

Sure sounds like fun to me ! I'll make a decision this week whether I can make it or not. I am down to plumbing and cabinets so it is not totally out of the question.

We will be going, but I do have to leave very early Sunday morning as I have to work Sunday afternoon in downtown Vancouver. I mentioned the meet to a bunch from our car club who were camped with us this weekend and it looks like several are quite interested as well including two 1976 GMC motorhomes and several mid seventies Bolers which they pull with hot rods. Hopefully they will join us. See you there. We'll get there later Friday evening. Looking forward to finally meeting you folks.

That's so cool! We haven't looked at another '67 Safari either. We'll have to try to park near you so our Safaris can talk to each other. Looking forward to this rally!

The rally sounds like a blast...
We moved from Bellingham, WA last May and spent lots of time at Mount Baker. Beautiful area. Wish we could go.

Hi Mel, I decided to stay put and take my time finishing up the interior. I need to save my gas money for my big trip this fall. I don't see a problem making it next year. It would be soo cool to see all those AS's in one spot in person ! Have fun and post pics for us folks that will only be there in spirit.
Chris

Do it now.
OK, your Last Chance is near.
I just checked the NOAA weather for the Bellingham area, Clear sky, 70 to 80 this weekend.
I'm headed out to hook the trailer up right now 7:04am.
Hope to see you all there.

Please keep your fingers crossed for us...
The truck is being grumpy today. Am hoping it's an easy fix and that we'll be on our way tomorrow after work as planned. Looking forward to seeing all of you!
