I've been making coffee all week at the play (I'm in charge of concessions, among other things), so I think I can make a decent cup. I'll give it a shot, anyway! Someone else has to let me know if I get it right, because I don't drink the stuff myself

I would love to be able to at least stop by and say hi (thanks for the invite Stephanie) but I am buried at the moment. I have not even had time to work on my AS for quite a few weeks now. It is still not yet ready to go anywhere and I am not really sure when it will be. Keep me in mind for next time though.

Thanks,

Malcolm

We'll see you at the next one, Malcolm!

I swung by the park today to get a new pass for the year, and talked to the ranger. They just stocked the lake with a small load of fish. He says in a few weeks they're going to do the major stocking, but they dropped a few thousand big ones in there today!

I drove around the campground, and it was empty except for one spot with a truck camper. Looks like sites 13 and 15 are out of order, as there is a backhoe there digging up a waterline.

Hello all !

Well sad to say but, the Caravel is going to have to stay home. But I am coming up on Saturday ! I will bring my laptop with all the pics on it ( I haven't posted all of them on this site). I was wondering what kinds of refreshments do y'all like ? I could bring soda pop, beer, and some adult beverages. Maybe some bottled water too. Stef do you know if I can get a fishing lic. for Wa there at the park ? or maybe in BG itself ? I think one of my friends wants to come with. I think he wants to see a bunch of aluminum in one spot, lol. See you all there.

Looked at the weather report and it looks like good old west side weather for the weekend. Oh Boy, I get to rust again.

The fishing contest is still a go, and the prizes will blow your mind.

I will be bringing 2 canopies so things will be high and dry for dinner and breakfast.

1.5 days to vacation. Yahoo!

I've got a little canopy too. Bring your raingear for hanging out with a pole by the lake!

If you need a fishing license, you can get it at the Ace hardware next to Safeway in Battle Ground.

Serviced sites

BGSP Mini-Rallyers!
I see on the website Battle Ground State Park there are only 8 serviced sites (sites 12-20) in the whole campground......and some with water only. Should we shoot for trying to congregate in that area if we want some kind of service? I suppose it would be advisable to bring our generator in case there are no electrical hookup sites available. What is everyone else prepared for......Boondocking if no serviced sites available??

I was planning to boondock, but nothing's working in my trailer right now anyway As I mentioned above, there's a backhoe diggin up #13 and #15, where the water is, so don't count on that. There's also a little restrooms/bathhouse building. Might want to bring your generator and we can hog the spots closest to the facilities.

We will also bring a generator and are prepared for "roughing" it if needed. Maybe the better question is: Is there anyone coming that absolutely has to have services? If so maybe we should be sure to park appropriatly.

Here is a map of the place. The orange sites are serviced, Red can't be reserved and Blue are buildings. Circle = small, triangle = M, sguare = large, X = XL site sizes.

There is a h2o tap near sites 9 and 8 and near 34 and 35 - we're gonna aim for 9 or 11 or...?

Campsites

Although we would prefer a serviced site, we would take a standard site if others absolutely need electric and water, and if the serviced sites are mostly taken. It would be helpful to know from those attending who can and can't boondock and try to reserve those sites with services for rallyers who definitely need electrical and water and can't boondock. This would keep everyone happy, and hopefully prevent the need for moving trailers around after being settled.

Those photos are beautiful, Jim. I am impressed!

I've been following the discussion on the BG rally but I've been too bummed to post because I can't make it. I really wanted to see all you guys from the Oregon rally and meet some new people too. Oh well, next time.

If any of you venture down this way (southern arizona) stop in and say "hi". I'm having a difficult time tearing myself away. And just a side note: my Tradewind has been a perfect home (even though a 25' CCD would be more perfecter - ok, that's the last time I'll say that, I promise).

Battle Ground

Hello,

My name is Jack and my Wife's name is Gwen.

We did go to a rally and met Stephanie in 2003, so this will be our second. We have a 3 year old and two 1 year olds. It would be great to have hook-ups, but we can get by without.

One thing I would like to know is if I can fill up with water there or do I need to bring water from home.

Is there anything we should bring?

We live in Clatskanie and hope to get to the park Friday afternoon.

There are faucets there to fill up with, but you'll need a 'cheater' to hook up to it.

I like to fill up at home before travelling. I think the trailer rides better with the extra weight (my tank is centered in the front), plus I know my water quality is good.

It'll be good to see you guys again!

Annette, sorry you can't make it. Enjoying that AZ weather too much, huh? Maybe later this summer you'll wander back up this way?

For the out of town vistors you can dump your tanks for free behind the Shell Station on Main Street across from Safeway in Battle Ground.

Ok we are doing a systems check tonight and everything is a go. Since We will be away from home for 3 nights the cats have to come with us. They hate riding in the truck, every time it's mew mew mew are we there yet?

Doesn't Battleground SP have a dump station? I think it does.

I will boon dock so as to let those who cannot live without there creature comforts have dibs on the AC power.

Better yet bring some really long electic cords, park rangers hate it when people daisy chain the power and water

Well, I started to load the truck tonight and I should be done by tomorrow sometime. Lots of stuff, but I hate to leave anything at home.

Don't forget to bring the fishing gear for the Saturday Fishing Contest.
Top three will win goodies.

Looking forward to a great Dinner Saturday night. Janet is hard at it.

See you all Thursday about noonish or so.

Yes, BG Lake has a nice new dump station they just redid last year I think. We often stop and dump our tanks there after a trip because we have an annual park pass, so it's a free dump station to us.

Does anyone have a rivet shaver they can bring? I have some olympic rivets I just installed that I need to shave down.
