May I suggest that it not begin till the 2nd trailer or motorhome arrives , and end when the last one leaves. I think that drinking alone is not healthy that why it should start when the 2nd unit arrives.

I have secured the Projector and have DVD player . Drive in movies are a go.

Donating Airstream picture frame for raffel. Also have lots of DET stickers for all attendees. Working on additional items from my employer as donations.

Claudia tells me you where looking for a TV, did you go LCD or Plasma, or stay old school and get a tube .

See you all at the rally,

PS: BFRED thanks for breakfast ,around noon should be good also how many times do I have to tell you , You do have a real Airstream You are the mother ship.
Andy,

Thanks for the help with raffle donation.
Stickers will be cool too!
Keep working on your employer for donations. I know they have some nice stuff! How about some of those nifty coffee mugs from the training room kitchen????
TV=tow vehicle.... You are so funny! I did not pick up the van yet. As a matter of fact the deal may fall through. I will be towing with the Safari. YIKES!
As for this being a thread.... it has not been a "thread" in nearly a month!

My Pimpmobile lights are in!

Candie called me a little while ago to tell me that the UPS guy dropped off my shipment of Pimpmobile lights, (aka 16-LED marker lights) for the Airstream, (aka Lou's Pimpmobile)!
I am gonna slap them on either here in the driveway tomorrow or at the campground on Thursday!
I will be pimping big time!
Whaddaya think about me getting some of those spinner wheelcovers for it?

Lou, maybe you should save your money for a TV. BTY there is a couple in Canada that have pulled their 34' with an Astro van for years.

In all honesty, I am going to the dealership tomorrow to look at new trucks.
They are offering 0% interest on the full-size pick-ups! I gotta buy a GM!
I think it might work out. Lord knows if I have to pay any interest I will not get one! I cannot stand paying interest. So much so that I will never have another loan of any kind with interest. It makes me sick to look at how much interest I paid on anything.
I pulled the trailer with the Safari for about twenty miles back a couple weeks ago. It did good but I am not one to tempt fate.

WTF!!!
I am NOT giving them $30k+ for ANYTHING!
With my GM discount, the truck I would need is OVER $30k! SCREW THAT!
Forget about that!
The most expensive new vehicle I ever bought was my 1998 Dodge Durango and it was $28k. I vowed NEVER to do that again.
It looks like I keep looking for a used truck. Maybe the van deal will go through still. Tonight I pull with the Safari!

That is because it is a Dodge!
I vowed never to pay that much again. Just because I did it once means that I am going to do it again and again.
NEVER EVER AGAIN!
The ONLY way they will get me to buy another new vehicle would be when they come out with that 1/2 ton diesel in 2008 or 2009.
I will not be in the park until tomorrow.

Camping World run!

I am going to be making a Camping World run while at Apple Creek. Candie is driving my Pontiac to the rally so I will have something fuel efficient to take.
I was thinking of going tomorrow but if anyone that is coming in early would like to go on Friday, speak up now.

I know they are expensive. I have bought five brand new trucks in the recent past.
I cannot see spending 30k on something that I am only going to use all of its power, etc... for nothing more than weekends and vacations.
I did talk to a salesman that I dealt with for my Vibe. He says we are talking right around 24k for what I want, with my GM discount too.

Hi Guys

Well since you guys are on the truck topic I guess I'm not off topic. I'm going to be borrowing my brothers 07 3500 long wheelbase van. Being a 1 ton all I have are #1000 pound WD bars. Should I tow without WD bars or what should I do. Thanks Robert

Robert,
Use the bars. The bars actually give you a rigid contact point between the van and the trailer.
I had a 1977 Argosy Minuet with a hitch weight of 200 pounds. I still used the bars as it offset weight and gave me a rigid connection between the trailer and the van.
Load up the bars until the trailer and the van are level. They will do better if they are level to each other.

Lou's Right always use them. They even put some of the load on the front end and that helps alot in weight distribution..

I like to keep mine a little bit low at the hitch even with bars pulled up tight..Never go higher then level because that trailer will get lots of sway..

I Am Gone! :)

All:

I will be at Apple Creek within a matter of hours from now!
If anyone needs to reach me, call my cell phone!
586-604-6689

Or call Candie's cell phone:
586-817-1130

See you all at the rally!
Have a safe trip in and keep the shiny side up. Or, in the case of an Argosy, keep the white side up!
