I spoke with the folks at the park. There is no ban or restriction on campfires!

Welcome everyone!

Sooooooo, about the fire....is anyone opposed to a propane fire? We have a burn pit and would love to go to bed not smelling like smoke. I could just shower. I always seem to be the lucky one that the smoke always follows. Just wondering. What are your thoughts?

Are you asking us to VOTE about what kind of fire to have, Julie?

I'm morally opposed to any fire whatsoever.

Ok. Just kidding. Fire type unimportant. It's the company that matters.

We are good too about the fire type. It doesn't matter to us Julie, I am bringing a tub of kindling just because we have the space and can easily take it home too. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Wink

I /we are not fans of fires.....well maybe in a fireplace. I don't like my hair/clothes or trailer smelling like smoke. I have asthma and never know when it will raise it's ugly head. If we don't participate or move away from the smoke, you'll understand it's not the company or conversation. :-)

PS really looking forward to it after 10 days of Social Services, finding a Medicaid bed for Mom (in Charlotte), doctor's appointments and a great time w/my sister and brother.

I think your idea is a good one Julie having a fire without smoke. It is going to be cold out there this weekend, we will need something! Looking forward to seeing you all!

Great Weekend!

Thanks to David and Julie for pulling off a great Hiatus. We enjoyed ourselves and all the good company. We made it into 3rd gear this morning and home by early afternoon.

Thanks to David and Julie, everyone who pitched in, helped out, cleaned up, behaved themselves, or not, or just brought a smile. It was a truly nice getaway weekend.

Once again, this gathering proves its the people and not the location that makes a great event. Kudos Julie and David, you guys are so talented in everything you do. I hope we encouraged you enough to keep this event going no matter where it is, but we all hope that Hunting Island can be restored to it's natural beauty again and can meet there again someday too.

Papa smurf... I'm so glad you joined us. What a wonderful adventure you two are embarking on. It was a pleasure meeting you, and we hope we see you down the road.
Craig and Carol, so glad you could make it, and stay late for some alone time..., good luck with all the college choices! We'll be right behind you on that one...
Beth and Chris, thanks for the big laughs and the birthday song. Loved it! Always a pleasure.
Lynetta & Brian, love your family and your Wassail is Amazing! Let's spike it next time! Thanks for always encouraging adventure.
Mark & Kerry, your cake baking skills at TDF! and those Brussel sprouts! Still craving both..
Bob, It was lovely meeting you and your furry traveling friend. Thanks for everything you contributed. Hope to see you down the road.
John & Imelda, What can I say. Your fire stoking skills are on fire! Thanks for joining us. Until next time, Rasta Love.
Matt & Beth, Always a pleasure to hang with you both. Thanks for the Awesome Chili! If I was ever on a stranded island, I'd pick you. Your fire starting skills are top notch!
Al & Missy, so glad you could make it. Thanks for the conversation and contributions, especially the headache one! Can't wait to see you four down the road again real soon..
Scott & Krista....What happened? Where did you hide?

Thank you all for coming!! All the food was delicious!! Thanks to everyone who brought and bought fire wood to light up the night and keep us warm. Thanks for twisting our arm to relocate. It turned out to be a beautiful location! We hope to see everyone again real soon.

PS...We got an email from South Carolina State Parks wanting to offer a 15% discount for any inconvenience with Hunting Island having to close due to the extent of damage. They said to mention CAMPSC2017 when calling the Call Center @ 1866-345-7275. Wish we would have received this email before we reserved at Sesquicentennial! Oh well...here's to more camping!
