We'll be at the Region 9 rally in Canton along with a couple of other 'local' A/S owners.

So will I. Your dates are right on top of the Region rally.

John and I will be preparing for an extended vacation, for departure that next Monday. We will look forward to the next get-together. Sapphire (dog) will also miss the outing.

hmmmm true our dates overlap the Region Nine Rally, I don't see this as a problem. Thought it was just a coincidence I now see it as an alternative .
We(myself and many other across the country) have repeatedly asked that region and international rallys that last for a week make a weekend rate for working people.
When the rally is announced with no provisions for working members to attend for the weekend, I just forget about it because I know I simply can not afford the time or money to go period.
This is a weekend campout for anyone (lurkers and guest included) reading this forum. Including WBCCI members who will be unable to attend the Region Nine Rallly in Canton but really want to get out and camp in the woods in their Airstream, or Argosy with good friends and good times. Pot Luck on Saturday Night and there's bound to be door prizes! And if we don't have any we'll canoe into Gonzales and buy some!
see you there, we'll miss you guys who go to the Region Rally but we'll see you next time.

sound like fun to me, and what a bargain 17 bucks. We're closing on a new house a couple of weeks later, taking a weekend off from packing sounds great to me!

Quick Trip

Mary and I plan to be there with the 345. The pups are questionable, as we might have a housesitter for the weekend.

Passing through

We're headed through Gonzales almost weekly headed for the coast. The WE before is a definate trip to POC (Port O Connor) but we might have the legs for a second weekend. I'll discuss this with Karen and stay tuned. Might be a good time to wet the canoe.

Door Prize

My door prize is wrapped in pink !!! Glad the lady flamingo has found a good home. Hope she finds a life partner, but she did seem pretty self assured and capable on her own. I envy her a nice relaxing beach vacation! Looking forward to the next get together! Lora

I made our reservations. Becky is traveling and won't come get in till Fri night late so we'll be there by noonish Saturday. I'm thinking of camping at Bastrop St Park Friday, so when I pick up Becky at the Austin Airport Friday night we can go directly into the camping mode. Look forward to seeing everyone again. Mike

Hmmm, trying to pull a Mary? Sorry, but the rules have changed. If your name gets drawn for your own door prize, it goes back in the hat....No more bringing expensive and awesome gifts and taking them home yourself

Door Prize/ Bluebonnets

Drove west this morning to the AS dealer in San Antonio. Bluebonnets are out nicely! Ought to be a perfect weekend to get to see them!!!
I will try to keep my greedy little mitts off the door prizes. At least when everyone is looking!

Brewery Tour

The Shiner Brewery is only a few (Texas few) miles from the campsite. There is a tour lined up at 4:00 on Friday at the Brewery.

Hope to see you there. I should be rolling into the campground about noon thirty.

We'll be there. Making reservations right after I post this. We plan on arriving Friday evening. Looking forward to seeing you all - maybe us youngsters will make it out of the trailer before 10am this time. :-)

Also, does anyone that's coming have a rivet shaver that I can borrow? Would ship it back in a week or so via 2nd day air right after I finished up with it. They're just so damn expensive I hate to go buy one just to shave 10 rivets.

Thanks,

Joe & Karen

Come and Take IT
The Battle cry in old Gonzales , you've maybe seen the flag with the cannon a star and the words Come and Take IT. It refers to a canon the Mexican goverment gave the DeWitt colonist to defend themselves against the Indians. When it looked like they might use it instead against Mexico in the coming rebellin, they asked for it back. Come and Take It was the answer!
There is indeed lots of history there, they have a recreated pioneer town, that may be open, and a really nice downtown with a great courthouse whose clock is said to be cursed to never tell the right time, I can't recall who cursed it anyone remember?
