shiner beer tour

Dang! We won't be able to get to Gonzales till Saturday... another beer tour missed! Being a dedicated Shiner Bock beer drinker from waaaaay back, I feel like I probably paid for a part of the factory, would have been nice to inspect it. Mike

Gonzales gathering

Sorry to report that I can't make to Gonzales this weekend.
The Airstream is going in for repairs this weekend - adding a Gear Vendors overdrive and if time allows- the wiper arm conversion that Bob McKeown had described in another thread, plus a few other odds and ends.
I'll be watching for the next gathering - but I'll be there in spirit. Lot's of really beautiful historic homes in Gonzales - ya'll have fun.

Won't be able to make any more events with you all as some already know we have the 345 M/H up for sale, selling some of my toys as I'm getting back in the bar business. It's been great fun getting to know you all, your really a great group and maybe we can drive down for a future get together for a day ! If anyone knows anyone looking for a 1986 345 pm me and I can send photo's. Take care all and maybe we can do a happy hour in the new bar in San Antonio some weekend !

happy hour

Hey Scott, We are sorry to hear you are leaving our little campfire, but who knows when your bar takes off you may find yourself with another Airstream.
Love the idea of happy hour at the club will you have a parking lot with full hook ups so we don''t have to drive back to the campground? hmmm not a bad idea
ya'all stay in touch ! let you know if we hear of a buyer,.
Lora and I will miss your door prizes especially!
I think we both had hopes of winning and antique Tiffany lamp or something
retro like a Juke Box

.......okay gotta run the Airstream is packed except for the us, we'll be leaving before noon tomorrow, see the rest of you there

Friday Night

I'm attempting to make reservations for Friday night only. I'm on the way south to POC and this will make a break in the schedule. Karen is in SA for the weekend but may be able to drive over for a little time as it's a bit closer than going back to Austin to spend the night and then returning to SA for more classes on Sat.

Home Again

What a fun trip in a great park. We loved all the green grass and those wonderful trees. Looking forward to the next get together. Thanks Lora

I don't know if the rest of you folks noticed as you traveled on Friday/Sat but the wind was up. I logged about 8 MPG on my way to the coast Sat. morning. Of course I did significantly better than average as I headed home Sunday. I guess until the gas prices come down I need to drive with the wind wherever I go. Nice seeing everyone if even for a brief time. And to Barkingspider - yes we were there also and ya'll get an alarm clock in the next draw.

We had a great time in Gonzales, loved the park, especially the laid back atmosphere there. Lots of grass in a shady pecan grove next to the river, a perfect place to relax and visit with friends. For us it was a great way to procrastinate, delay our packing and getting ready for the upcoming move, when given the choice of unpleasant chores or camping with an Airstream Forum group, I'll take camping any day. Not a large group, but a great one. Four trailers ranging from 43 years old to 43 days old, and two MoHo's.

61Overlander

As always, Mike and Becky took the Vintage Honors with their immaculate '61 Overlander. What a great looking 43 year old!

Mike and Becky also won the top door prize - a pair of Flamingos to keep their Vintage '61 company.

I think everyone had a great time. A few of us toured the Shiner Brewery on Friday night, and most made a trip into Gonzales and walked around the square on Saturday.

Mike loves the double step on his new 31' Classic. Here he is inspecting Barking Spider's to find out that the design really hasn't changed in the last 17 years.

Thumbs up Lake Wood Rocks!

Love all the photos of our great weekend at Lake Wood, the undiscovered park of Gonzales! I enjoyed the beer tour got a little tipsy in the tasting room they give you lots to drink if you're a light weight like me!
Dennis and Mary, I really enjoyed ya'alls friends from New Orleans, we have to get them in an Airstream for sure.
Good food as always, great prizes as always, and we all got to park next to each other with out any SOB's cutting in I think the whole park was wondering what the heck we were up too.
Best of all we made a plan for one more before someone turns the heat back on and we have to go all the way to Colorado or New Mexico for good camping weather.
It's at Junction Texas at the Llano State Park. There's a new thread about it. I must go now and make a post there about the Great Airstream Easter Egg Hunt we will be having. Yes it's a week past Easter, which is perfect, all the stuff will be on sale and we'll be able to get twice as many eggs for the hunt!
Thanks again to all the Airstreamers who came out for just a night or the whole weekend. Ya'All are great and I love camping with you. Jo and Karen you keep right on sleeping in! Gerald are you sure you were really there and Karen you really move at the speed of light! Dennis and Mary keep loading that Airstream up with such good friends and fun and puppydogs. Mike and Lora, I wonder what kind of Airstream you will have next time, and Mike you can start growing that mullet now.Mike and Beckey you have the prettiest Airstream,so classic, and the cutest radio I ever saw.
