Here is the attendee list as I see it so far:

Thenewkid64, with edie g
Sneakingup
Rluhr
Pick
nyairdream
tcwilliams
Argosy20 and sd90mac
summerkid?

So I count 14? I know tcwilliams is bringing his kids, so I don't know the exact count. Did I miss anyone???

If everyone can chime in with what they will be bringing for the pot luck, it will be a bit less of a mixed bag.

We are planning to be here on Friday.

I/we will most likely bring potato salad, always a safe bet with fried chicken.

Getting geared up, and I wondered if the attendees would like to do an outdoor movie? I know this is a potential can-o-worms

If we do this right we could have one or two picked before we know for sure who is president

So what will it be? An old road movie, ala Crosby and Hope, a buddy cop movie, a western, action flick, etc?

Remember this is supposed to be fun, so no tearjerkers, or documentaries. I can rent anything that is on DVD and I have the projection hardware, so what do you all want to see?

Brett we could watch Mikey Moore's F/911, then FahrenHYPE 911 after that!

We can bring a desert dish, brownies or cake, or heck, even bake it right there on site, with our spiffy propane fired Magic Chef oven!!

Do we need to bring more chicken? 14+ is a lot of chicken for one person to bring.

Thanks for the offer, but the chicken pieces need to be a certain size to cook just right, and most grocery stores only sell monster size pieces. I already have a cooler set aside for the job.

I would like to get a firm headcount before we leave town though.

Thanks!

How about Lucy and Ricky's Long, Long Trailer? I've heard that was a riot, but have never seen it. Just a thought.

Pick,

In a word NO. The election is OVER. If everyone is as sick as I am hearing about it, no one would show up to watch.

Sneakingup, I like the idea, question is can I get the VCR to connect? I only have that on VHS. I don't think it was ever released on DVD

Keep the suggestions coming. BTW We will need something to show it against. Say someones awning with a white sheet hanging off the edge?

Brett,

If your DVD player is separate from the projection device, a VCR should be able to plug in place of it. The backup plan could be my Boyz' 13-inch TV/VCR combo. Although for 14 or so people it could get a little cozy watching Luuuuciiiiii's antics.

Just trying to help,
Tom

I have to correct my own post. It is Lucy and Desi. An honest mistake.

Projection equipment usually has RCA plug inputs/outputs, so I would think a VCR should hook up OK.

I just thought that would be a fun movie, based on the fact that we are all trailer/motorhome lunatics.

Truth be told, Brett is such a video snob that he can't stand the idea of watching a tape.

The good news is that The Long, Long Trailer is available on DVD.

Now we just need to find a decent projection screen...

We could always use the washroom wall...
If you all want to watch "vintage" poltical stuff, I can bring "Wag the Dog".
I could also bring "The Day After Tomorrow", and "Garfield, The Movie" if anyone would rather see them.

NO to the washroom walls. I don't think we go camping to sit around in the washroom together.

NO to anything political. Haven't we all had enough of that lately?

YES to the popcorn and chips. I thought we'd bring some microwave popcorn, and maybe some microwave pork rinds if I can find them.

We have another AS movie we could watch. It's "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" with Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio when Leo was still an unknown.

Success on the projector screen! Our church has one and will loan it to us for the weekend.

Now, where can I find those microwave pork rinds?

Edie, did you see that show on Food TV last night? They showed how regular pork rinds are made and a short blurb on microwavable ones. My wife loves them too. Will search Winn Dixie, Publix, Food Lion and Hitchcocks for some. I think Diane saw some at a store in G'ville called "Mother Earth", an organic food store.

Darn! I missed that show. I'll check the schedule and see if I can find it replaying. I'll let you know if I find the pork rinds before you do.

I'm starting to get jazzed about this weekend!

It is starting to look like Marie (sd90mac) will not be able to make it, but we are still trying to make it happen so she can be there. I am for sure able to come, as long as no one laughs excessively at my stand-in tow vehicle. It belonged to my sister-in-law, who is driving-impaired. She seemed to run over anything in the road that couldn't move fast enough to get out of the way...

I had hoped to have Centramatic wheel balancers installed for this trip. Unfortunately, the only ones made for my axle won't work with my wheels.

My plan is return them unless someone at the rally wants to buy them. PM me if interested.
