I hope not - I was just about ready to sign up - I'll be home from this nightmare of a trip in plenty of time to make it this year. If only I can get all the sand out of my system by then.

Well Michael, if they are all accounted for, there is another campground over the mountain called Yonah Mountain that we found in June. Maybe we can buddy-up there together and car pool to the festivities.

Keep yer head down and come home safe.

Maybe - but there are always last minute cancellations - I can find a field somewhere and rally-up.

My 2 cents. Since I am willing to follow but not lead an event, I am quite willing to defer. My preference would be Hiawassee, but truth be told I could turn east instead of north pulling our trailer and be very happy! With schedules (work, school, whatever) probably one rally is good, although that may be just short sighted. Let me put it this way - I wouldn't want to coordinate two rallies.

The idea of broadening our social network to include others (TAG/TAC - whatever it is) is also attractive. You can never have too many Airstreams (or others!).

One of the activities that really means a lot to me is the not a band band. What would happen at Stone Mt?

One question appears to be answered for me: from reading some of the subsequent entries, it doesn't appear to be a WBCCI thing.

Alan, if I haven't said it lately, thanks for all the times that you have been "instrumental" in putting a successful rally together.

Stone Mountain has a pavillion we will use for the Spring TAC stream thing the band is welcome...by the way I love Hiawassee, but the April dates with holidays and all run too close to this TAC Rally. I expect many would not want two in a row.

I would be happy to organize a Summerstream for June or ??

I agree: two rallies - too much (in the relative time slot). Alan, we did an "End of Summer Thang" several years back at a GA Power campground close to Columbus, GA - trying to remember the site, but it was beautiful, on Lake Harding - absolutely perfect if you like kayaking/canoeing, had a group pavilion like at Hiawassee. I'd be happy to help if we thought there was interest in a summer event - there or somewhere else.

Alan, I for one would like to see us continue two gatherings. June after school is out is fine by me. Maybe we can check on the concert schedule at Hawassee and tie in some kind of event. When it seems easy to fill up all the sites there must be lots of intrest in Airstreamer's meeting in Georgia. Just my opinion.

Maybe at Falluminum we can take a quick poll on adding a June or later summer event. I like it. Thanks Brad

We just snagged D1 for the fall. There is only one other site left in Area 2 for the weekend of the 21st. D7 is available, but's a 20 foot site.

Alan, June sounds good for next spring.

See y'all in the fall.

Jim

I guess I'll have to wait until someone drops out. Hard to make a decission when I'm on the water overseas. If someone can't make it let me know.

Stone Mountain Rally

We have been to the last five rallies in Hiawassee. We enjoy these rallies, but would likely skip the one in stone mountain. We really like the setting in Hiawassee.

McKinney Army Corp of Engineers on Lake Allatoona in Georgia

Loop 93-101 and 102-104 at McKinney, on Lake Allatoona in Georgia, is starting to book up Airstreams for the first weekend in November. Is anyone interested? Site reservations can be made on line.
We are planning to attend the Stone Mountain Rally in April 2012.

On the Vintage Shasta Forum, I saw that they were trying to organize a little rally in loop 86-92, for the first weekend in November, at McKinney. Since Falluminum and Cloudland Canyon no longer had sites available, I noticed that there were a few Georgia Airstreams looking for a local gathering. I inquired if Airstreams were welcome to start the next loop over, which is 93-101 and 102-104. It was agreed that it would be more fun if more campers were involved. The sites are large and the area is beautiful. Site 101 is already booked with a 59 Airstream, so make your reservations and book up the loop. Even a small gathering can be a great social time, but if there is interest; it may turn into something bigger.
