Don't see a reply to Jim. I've pulled a trailer from Clayton and from Helen. I prefer 17 from Helen. The road is wider and has more passing lanes for those behind you. I think it is a little straighter.

This is a non-motorized bike ride.

The other option might be to take US129 from Cleveland up that way. Any ideas?

Jim
This is the great part of losing your mind - every road is a new adventure. I THINK we have been that way - across 76, and if memory serves me correctly it is a good road. The road down through Helen is a very curvy and hilly road, but I believe you will be OK from Clayton.

We will miss you guys for this event - catch you later!

Last spring we came up 76 through Clayton and it was a nice drive not too bad. I am familiar with Helen and the Highlands and wouldn't attempt it. We come 85 south through Charlote, go south on 123 to 76.

Thanks for the replies, everybody. I think Clayton is going to be our route of march. We know how steep the climb is from Helen, so we really didn't want to attempt that on our first "real" pull. This will be our first real outing in the 'Stream since we started the refurb, other than a few short (REALLY short) trips. Besides, we're in no big hurry to get there. Hopefully the leaves will be nice and we can have a good day of "leafing".

We are very much looking forward to this weekend, hoping to put faces to names and enjoying a weekend off from the humm-drumm.....

See ya in a few days.

Jim

we usually have a nice little jam but this time our drummer Brad and other guitarist Ron will not be there, and I will be at the Three Dog Night concert in the music hall.
There still may be others who will play though...Saturday after dinner.

Possible themes for those who want more fun...

"The fun never ends"

"Fun, not interrupted"

"'U' are the center of fun"

"Fun: The unrated version"

"Fun Shui Trailers"

"Fun-doh-mental"

"Fun with leaves and rakes"

Basically, show up and camp would cover it.

Hate we will miss the rally. Uncle Sam does not approve of schedule changes not of his doing.

College Football on Saturday?

Who's attending the rally and will have their satellite dish hooked up and watching college football on Saturday? I'm looking for somebody that has ESPN Gameplan so I can watch South Florida at Pittsburg - the game is on at noon. If I can't monopolize the dish all afternoon maybe you'll let me watch just a little. Please.... Pretty Please.

Otherwise, I may have to go to a local pub to see if we can watch it on one of their televisions.

Thanks, Lucius

Name on your rig

Merry-Can are you talking about your name on the rig? I looked for an earlier post about "doing something like this" but couldn't find it?

Public house? You mean there's a pub AND camping? I may never leave north Georgia.

I found a good place to get clear static cling. I put my WBCCI emblem and numbers on with that. That way I can move them from one Holiday to the other. I didn't think about names, good idea. I haven't been doing this long enough to get with the program quite yet.

My Airstream becomes a pub with the right beverages. A different ambiance than some, better than others.
Not as good and authentic as the one I was in last May;

After looking at the forecast for this weekend in Hiawassee I am wondering how much fun the canoe would be. I was looking forward to bringing it, such a pretty lake, but I may consider some other form of recreation instead. Food? Adult beverages? Football? Music? We are really looking forward to meeting everyone and putting a face with some of these handles!

We're not bringing ours either. Cold and wet just don't seem to go with an aluminum boat!
