Fall Color Rally N. IL/S. Wisconsin October 2007

I do realize it is still June, but I am thinking of fall already. My schedule looks like October 12th, 13th and 14th look COOL for RALLY TIME

It will be at Pecatonica Forest preserve, Pecatonica, Illinois.

This year I am throwing in a monkey wrench.. I do not mean to step on any toes, or insult anyone, but this rally is for adults only. I like kids, I've even had a few myself, and they are grown and gone.

I am turning 50 and need to recharge myself to get ready for the NEXT 50.

Let me know your thoughts and interest in this rally happening.

Northern IL is beautiful!

A rally without kids would be like a Wally rally. No thanks.

Wally rallies don't allow kids?? I didn't know that! That certainly would NOT be right to have as a consistent rule. I woudln't like that, either.

What I am trying to get around to is to encourage people to get a babysitter just one time.

The parents are usually so busy chasing the kids that we don't get to visit at all. They all have to flee the campfire to put the kids to
bed :-(

I think that anyone that knows me knows that I don't dislike children. Or dogs. Or anything.

I can see your point after having to chase after Collin at Morraine View, but we got our Airstream specifically to take Collin camping. We of course will be at our Branson Rally that weekend, but will be thinking of ya'll.

We know you don't dislike shildren, dogs, or anything else!

Steve

I know this date coincides with Branson, I told you I thought it would :-(
I hope we all run into each other across the year at other places.

I wouldn't want anyone to have to pay a babysitter.. that's what Grandma's are for :-)

And parents might LOVE a weekend alone.. SLEEPING IN

I was having Susie listen to the Episode 42 Capetown to Cairo VAP podcast on our way back from Madison today. The C-to-C Caravan organizer, Burt Kalet, was mentioning this very issue. He raised it with his son and recommended he join the younger Washington DC chapter where they were very friendly to kids and dogs rather than Burt's N.C. chapter. Sounds like this is a chapter rules issue and you could reap the benefits of adding your vote. Kiss 'em off later if reason can't get past too strong a local/regional gerontocracy. Steve & RaChelle could easily use the WBCCI to leapfrog into the VAC and fuhgeddaboudit if the Wally majority isn't friendly -- hopefully both VAC & especially the WBCCI will be inclusive to all if they expect to carry forward!
