Maybe a little off topic....

Yeterday, the crossbow door prize I won was unboxed and assembled. Although I have shot rifles, handguns, and compund bows, I never had a cross bow in my hands.

Unit went together easy, now time to shoot! My backyard is slightly shorter than my airstream, but what the heck, I've got a nice target bag!

The crossbow came with a scope. An uncalibrated scope. I was shooting low just to be safe, my house is behind the target. It already has enough holes from my previously mentioned compound bow! First shot went way low shreading off the fletching. 1 bolt down, 1 to go.

The next 10 shots my son and I dialed in the scope. We had it shooting good now.

Time for some fun, we started calling shots. I guess we called "kill zone" one to many time! The bolt hit a weak spot in the target bag which is about a foot thick. It blew right thru it into the dirt behind it.

Time for some repair and extra bolts! Great fun!

Tina, I was so busy calling off numbers that I didn't realize you took photos of the winners. This is great. I'll add them to my collection and then try to make a shorter movie that doesn't involve the farm pre-rally stuff or the caravan up stuff...just rally stuff.

I'll wait just a little bit longer to see if anyone else posts more pics.

Dan, glad you like the crossbow. Good thing you are practicing now, eh? I shot a possum the other night...blogged about it if you want to know more. Check out this picture we just got on our farm's buck-cam. John is hyperventilating and knows right where he will hang the horns.

Am I hearing rumblings of a repeat rally next year? If so, what do you think about the state park in St. Ignace? We may be stopping there this weekend. If we have a chance to check it out we'll pass on the details - it looks like a good location.

Although I really liked St. Ignace better that Mack, I think it would be very hard to beat the lakefront campsites we had! I'll sign up where ever is decided.

You guys are all funny. Lucius, check out that state campground in St. Ignace when/if you can and report back. I personally like the idea of Exploring OVER the Bridge next time... there is another state harbor in St. Ignace so we keep The Pole Dancer there so we trolls pay no tolls.
