Canopener 2019
13th Annual Canopener Rally
January 3-6, 2019
Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, Gregory E. Moore RV Resort
7525 W. Scenic Highway 30A
Santa Rosa Beach, Florida 32459
(850)267-8330
This is a national joint rally between Airforums and The Southeastern Camping Unit of the WBCCI. No membership of either group is required.
This years Canopener will have activities to be determined later in the year but the Clubhouse has been reserved for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. I expect there will be music, chili, cornhole tournament, bunko, open house and more music. Who knows what else will be added. As in the past, there will be early arrivals to bring in the New Year.
There is no Rally fee.
Reservations for campsites must be made through Reserve America. Their policy prohibits reservation more than 11 months in advance of your arrival date (see their site for exact details). If you don't have an Airstream but are interested in attending, cabins are also available.
After you make your reservation, RSVP Here with names and site number

Thanks to all who have made this such a fun rally in the years past. 2019 will be bigger and better we are sure.

I plan to be there (or be here, I guess, since I'm still at Topsail as I type this). And hopefully in a much better site, since the loop I'm in now will probably be closed (like it was supposed to be this year).
And I promise 2 things about my jambalaya for next year: (1) it won't be as spicy, since the spicy version wasn't as popular as I had hoped; and (2) there won't be as much of it, because I've been eating leftover jambalaya for dinner ever since and even I am getting tired of the same thing night after night.

Don't worry. My jambalaya will still be spicy, just not AS spicy. I'll use regular olive oil rather than the Tabasco-infused olive oil...

A great rally deserves a logo. Here's one for Canopener 2019:

I'm so sorry I missed the jambalaya! I was looking for it and didn't see it. Was it at the chili feed? I'll be sure not to miss it next time! Lol

I did some long range looking on Reserve America this afternoon. Checked to see what was available from Dec 22 thru Jan 7. Sites 1 thru 22 were showing not available so they must have plans to work on those sites. I guess we will loose those for real next year.
Book early when the window opens.

Canopener 2019 Maps
NEWS FLASH -- I checked Reserve America and there are already sites reserved at Topsail for the week of Canopener 2019, yet there are no sites showing reserved on the Canopener 2019 RSVP page. Perhaps some of you are remaining incognito, waiting for the maps to be published. Well here they are and they are --- EMPTY! Click on the links below. Who will be the first to reveal their site for 2019?
To appear on the map and register for the rally, you must RSVP on the official Canopener RSVP page. A reservation at the Campground does not automatically register you with the rally. To RSVP, click on the RSVP link below, scroll to the bottom of the page, click on the appropriate button and in the comments box provide the following:
1) Site number
2) First names of the humans staying on the site. Even though you love bringing your pets to the rally, they don't need to register.
3) Dates you expect to arrive and depart
Canopener 2019 Official RSVP Page Link
Canopener 2019 Map Sites 1-99
Canopener 2019 Map sites 100-168
A couple of people have indicated they are coming on the RSVP page but haven't indicated a site number. Once you have a site reservation with the campground, please go back to the RSVP page and record the site number!

Not everyone at Topsail is going to be a Canopenian. Other campers— not necessarily Airstreamers— who will be arriving before 12/26/2018 have already reserved sites for that time period.
Since I plan to arrive on 12/30/2018, I can't reserve a site until 1/31/2018, just a few days away.

Chuck, you can take 1-21 and show as unavailable or booked as. They are the confirmed construction sites.
