All you need is a towable aluminum tent! A heater might be a good back up too!!

Ditto, it has been known to get a little chilly and wet January at Topsail.
The first year I had no working heater, froze my tail off. Last year all warm and cozy with my little electric cube heater. This year new trailer with several heating/cooling choices and a real bed.

Chilly yea, we went to Walmart and got another blanket, water line coming in to trailer froze solid. Love Florida in January. Still had a great time and can't wait for this year.

Freaky cold weather few days before the last Canopener. Several people with Airstreams and SOBs had frozen lines at Topsail. The previous Wisconsin owner of my Airstream buggered up their winterizing last winter and ended up blowing out the water heater and some of the PEX lines. So I have a nice new water heater. The AC also went out on them so as an added bonus I have a new AC and wiz bang electronic thermostat.

Since this is my first can opener rally, I would like to know, if there is something like an airstream parts swap, flea market ?

Others with more knowledge may want to chime in here, but after 4 Canopeners I can say that State Parks don't allow for open advertised items for sale "no for sale signs allowed on campsites". However, if you happen to have some items that you wish to let go of, and happen to place them on a table under your awning, and during the open house that usually takes place on Saturday, some folks happen to make you an offer or two, then no one will be the wiser. As it is, the Rangers relax the rules quite a bit for Canopener so a lot of things happen that weekend that would never happen at any other time or in any other State Park.

The Canopener is a great event, and much of that is due to the relationship that has developed between the Airstreamers and the Park Staff. Everyone in our group has always been respectful and fun loving, so the Park turns a blind eye to things like blocking off streets for cornhole tournaments and Bloody Mary/Margarita meetings or Bourbon tasting events. As large as Canopener has become, TopSail is still happy to have us, and we plan to keep it that way for a long time.

Brand new registered user here on AirForums (been trolling anonymously for years). Just made our reservations for Can Opener 2015 (our first) and site no. 66. Hopefully it'll be warm this January in Florida!

I believe you mean "lurking" anonymously. Lurking means reading but not posting. "Trolling" means something completely different and is not a nice thing to do.

Lurking vs. trolling

Ah, yes, I'm much too polite to be a troll. Lurking, however....

Canopener 2015

We went to our first Canopener 2 years ago with our new to us AS. Had a great time! Unfortunately, Canopener dates do not coincide with Christmas break, so we have not been able to go again. I wish the date could be moved back to the weekend after New Year's....sad:

Pharm, you could go with the old, "You gonna eat those tots?"... It's a pretty good catch phrase.

And congrats to Two KAys for their new addiction. See y'all there!
