Wow! There are already 47 reservations with Reserve America in the main loop - only 15 spots left. Remember to also sign up on the RSVP page, we'll use that as the basis for the map and badges (click here to sign up on the RSVP list). We'll start the map in a few months.

This is going to be great rally! Only 10 months to go!

PM me if you have any questions.

Sites disappearing fast

CANOPENER 2013 JANUARY 4th - 6th

I just checked through reserve America and they show only 10 sites available in the 100 loop for the 2013 Canopener. It looks like all the other sites, outside the 100 loop are available. This will be our 5th Canopener and I have never seen so maany sites booked so early.

For anyone interested there is talk of a get together for New Years eve, prior to heading down to the Canopener. Probably somewhere south of Atlanta or possibly in Alabama. This would be another opportunity to party and would break the trip up into 2 legs.

Cool! You moving back from California? In case you were wondering, the oil stains on your old site are fairly faded so you can get a new site if you want.

Tweaks and the tattooed one are no longer welcome in paradise. Something about graduating rehab and looking for a fresh start.

As always, I will wait to reserve my site. It's kind of like Black Friday shopping, there will be deals for those that wait. I just cannot plan that far in advance. We had so much fun this year that we are sure to try to be there in 2013.

It was OUR first last year. You will immediately understand why everyone comes back year after year. Look us up in #144, you know, the big silver trailer . . . oh, yes, Wally number 1927 for confirmation. <grin>

We will be arriving New Years eve so lets do something. May not make it to midnight in Destin but it will be midnight somewhere. Bet there will be some black eyed peas and cornbread sometime on the first. Maybe some ham hocks as well.

Canopener 2013

I just checked Reserve America and they show only 7 sites remaining in the 100 loop. So far only 29 Airstreamers have RSVP'd. I hope we haven't been invaded by the SOB's.

Neat Story: We pulled into a camp in Asheville. Right next to our assigned spot was a nice looking 1985 32' Excella. Met and visited with the owners, and recommend Canopener 2013 as THE PLACE to be. They signed up right away, space 157, and we'll be so glad to see them down there this time. What a cool small world the AS community seems to be.

Between the two threads I come up with a count of 37 Airstreams booked. According to Reserve America only three spots remain unreserved (105,107, 112). Either Airstreamers are not posting here or the invasion of the SOB's is in full swing.

Welcome to those of you who have signed up in the past month or so. For you first timers, you will enjoy this rally!

Considering we're still over 7 months away from the rally, posts have been understandably slow. I plan on posting the initial map (with Chief doing the heavy lifting) in July. Even though Chief sold his Airstream, he (and his better half) will be joining the rally fun and I think I've talked him into updating his world-class campground map occasionally.

As far as the 34 RSVPs we have right now, I know (for a fact) that some of you haven't updated the RSVP list yet although you have sites reserved. We are probably closer to the 45-50 range. When the map comes out, go public with your site!

For those of you who haven't reserved a site yet, remember there are many more sites available in the campground (particularly sites 25-56), that although not in the 103 loop, are very nice and are located right on the way to the clubhouse. Topsail Hill State Park is one of Florida's best state parks and these other sites are good too.

PM me if you have any questions.

Russ
