Better still, how about a tie-dyed shirt worshop with a side of spin art.

Just catching up on this thread. Sounded like a few musicians, so I'll plan on packing the drums unless this is an unplugged version.
I also saw a few posts about Christmas decorating - check out this video - I know it'll give a few of you ideas...

I tried to transfer from site 50 to 146 but the reservation people tell me it's reserved.

Keep trying you are dealing with governement and they don't work on the weekend so any updates will be delayed.
Tell them you believe it to have been canceled. Ask if the current reservation is held by someone from Woodstock Ga. And that will tell you if it has not be updated.

Will be cancelling reservations Monday morn
Sorry to have to cancel but our training as volunteer interpertors here in Everglades National Park is over and we just received our work schedules and will not be able to attend the Can Opener. We will be calling on Mon morning around 10am, est, to cancel our reservation for site 167, arriving 1/2- leaving 1/7. Hate to miss such a fun event.
If anyone heads down this way please contact or look us up, we are in the Pine Island section on the east side of the park until Apr 1. There are 2 big campgrounds here; Long Pine Key and Flaminqo, no hookups, a real Airstream experience. Be glad to give a fellow Airstreamer a VIP tour of this area including a "Slough Slog" (a walk across the saw grass marsh into one of the tree islands, a chance to see some neat plants, birds and reptiles, including Alligator mississippiensis, in their habitat) If you have canoe/kayak bring them, if it happens to be our days off we could kayak/canoe the mangrove swamps on the coast, lots of wading birds. Come visit your 1,500,00 acre, one of a kind National Park.
Any early replies might not be answered timely, don't have internet at The Tin Inn yet but should by early Jan.
Have fun at the Opener '08.

gangster rap
Finally something i know about. The best "Wrapper" that ever lived was Buddy Holly. (better even than Vanilla Ice).
Well, once again Swampbillies volunteered my services. She got the clubhouse. If it's all right, it's easier for me to just bring my rack of PA gear and I think I could accommodate everyone who wants to play. Just bring an instrument with cord and a mic if you have one. I'll have a couple of spare 58's in my case. I'd enjoy running sound & singing some backup harmony for you lead singers. I'll have my Strat and Ovation. If we end up with a bass and drums, I could end up with a 60's flashback trip. (Think I will pack my tie-die.) Should be fun. Might get Swambillies to do some Hillbilly rap.
Just chime in and let me know how many players and singers.
Stratman.

I don't know about the lights, but I do like your idea of bringing drums! Thanks!
And if we are "unplugged" (so to speak), what will you do then? Bongos?

Shoot, Elvis made a whole album with a guy beatin' sticks on a guitar case. I'll have 2. Swampbillies will have her tamberine. Maybe i'll record the session and call it Abbey Road II.

Clan Moss has left site 50 and is now in site 167. I did this mainly for the box phobic RVers out there..... and it also happens to be a larger site.

And if I were 1/50 the entertainer that Elvis was, I would be in the money .
Recording the "session" is a great idea though. I was really curious how things sounded at the other Rallys. It would be fun to hear from a different perspective.
Do you know where the Clubhouse is? Would the Potluck be in there (or is that a basic premise...)? Is there a cost?

Phil & Sue,
Thought I would answer your question on the clubhouse location.......circled in "red." I don't know if the potluck has been moved to the clubhouse, but it does have tables and chairs (would be a good "indoor" location for it).
What isn't shown on the attached map, is an "outdoor" theater (located in the open area under my "clubhouse" annotation). I saw a mention of movies somewhere, but that could have been another rally....CRS plays tricks on me sometimes.

Potluck
The site is still there to be used for the potluck. It is good to know we can use the clubhouse though just in case it does rain.
Nilesrob is bringing his movie gear and I know he could use some help from a hand or 2 to get that thing setup. That screen is huge.
Just to let everyone know.I will be on site #162.I will set up on site 163 though to pass out the name badges.I am in the process of getting this all done and if I miss a name or 2 no worries.I will have my computer and printer with me to knock one out really fast.
The sun goes down here around 4:30 P.M. so setting up for the potluck early would be a good thing to do.

I have never been to the park, but here is a map. There is no cost for the clubhouse. I don't know if anyone wants to have the pot luck there. It certainly would not be as close but at least if the weather turns bad we will have the option. The lady at the park told me I could pick up the key on Friday and we could set our stuff up. We should be able to fit it into the schedule somewhere, maybe bring a few refreshments. They have tables, chairs and a dance floor. We will have it all day Saturday. I am sure we will be able to figure something out.

I believe that NilesRob is bringing his drums, and may be willing to share/trade-off. I thought we had a number of other percussion type instruments available for the crowd to join in too.
If set up musically in the Clubhouse (secure area under lock/key), various times might be available to play/listen.
I am really looking forward to the Rally!

Site #126 will be available
We'll be giving up our site #126 sometime this afternoon or evening should anyone desire it. We have tickets to the Gator Bowl and the Orange Bowl games and will be traveling to see a couple of our favorite teams compete. Maybe we can do this next year as it sounds like we'll miss a grand time with all of you.
Happy Trails
