We've lived in central florida for about 15 years and what i can't
get over is the stars at night. I'm from ohio originally and it feels
like your closer to the sky here. It can get cool up there in January,
have to dig out the sweatshirts. But how 'bout one more from a couple of weeks ago in Tampa.

Seems the picture did not come out that clear on my end.Maybe it is just me.

Question.....what would be the closest airport for someone to fly into from say Buffalo NY
And second question is there a link to see the whole park map - want to know what is behind site 114.....if anyone could let us know that would be great - thanks either here or PM would be great...
If I can smuggle it I will bring some Canadian Back Bacon - Good for the lunch sandwiches, Potluck and Breakfast -

Maybe not EXACTLY behind 114, but off to the side is all woods. There is actually a walking path back there - very nice.

Thanks Brad - getting really excited now.....I saw a picture of the horseshoe pit and saw a pond and wondered if the site may have backed on to that which would be a very very very very bad thing with my girls - they would be in it all the time - oh yes they are suppose to be on a lead - forget that thought. More concern with the slithering kind of reptiles

airports? how small is de'plane!
pensicola is close by but i'm sure there are smaller regional airports.
behind 114 is a tree, then another road and a small camping section as one gets closer to the main gate...
the 'gator lake' and other bodies of water and CLUB HOUSE are about 300 yards from your site.
here is a complete park map but the google earth image is pretty good too!
cheers

Hmm wish we were that well off to afford our own little plane to fly Hubby into the party but not so....lucky stiff has to fly with the rest of the Christmas Holiday goers....
But flights are still cheaper for us to depart from within the States than from TO to FL....
Anyone have leads on someone flying a puddle jumper that would need a body for ballast from Buffalo or Watertown area....
23/12/07 - return /06/01/08
300 yards is a long way for them to travel for their breakfast - that is a good thing - lots of morsals before my site even better......
PS Klattu - you have got to be kidding on the forest keepers - those are my twin cousins...from hmmm must be careful here....Kapuskasing and they would not hurt a fly!

Bring bikes if you have them! There is a great trail that you can ride down to the ocean.

Closest Airport
with commercial service is Ft Walton Bch (VPS) and is about 30 miles away by highway. There's a small private plane airport in Destin also.

It looks like 108 opens up to the fountain and would have this view if the healthchic were there.
111 is in this picture and just one over from Sharon, which I think is this site. And you can walk the girls on the trail to the side of you and goes around the back of the campsites and meets up with the paved path to the beach.

And since I am all excited now looking at last year's Can Opener, I might as well post a few more teaser pictures for any first timers.

You are right Brad, bikes are a real good thing. The ride to the beach is fun and an easy ride. No need to wait on the trolly. The ride around the park is fun too.
We're looking for new ideas for camping stuff, so I hope none of ya'll mind me asking where you got some things. I learn alot at these rallys.

Just to the right as you parked to check in - by the main entrance. You were probably looking at the reception building and did not look to the right.
