I think she meant "wine and cheese". Looks as though the party has already started.

Portable Canopy

Attention California Streamers attending Summer Rally

If anybody has a portable canopy or gazebo, like those quick set-up 10X10s, please bring it to the Rally. Since it will be hot and sunny, and we will congregate during festivities (read drinking heavily), a little extra portable shade will come in handy, especially to keep the margi-ball nice and cold.

Thanks in advance.

I'm about to hit the road...(whoop AND eee!)
I have a small canopy which I will go locate and toss in the car.

Ed had an unfortunate accident yesterday and was bitten/stung/attacked by something and his head swelled up like a watermelon. (If he wasn't so sad it would actually be pretty funny). After an emergency trip to the vet and a few injections he is doing much better but may end up resting at home this trip. I'll check him again in an hour when I'm ready to go. Darn. He was really going to do well at the carnival games.

BTW...can you walk to the lake? Holly the lab was wondering...

It would be an approx. 3-4 mile walk. Are you sure Ed can't come?

AS II sacrifices a brake drum!

Ron spent this morning running all over town trying to find a brake drum for AS I. No luck---but since we just did the tag axle brakes on AS II the mechanics are doing a transplant from II to I . With any luck they will be done about 4pm and will will roll over to load up. Hopefully there by 7pm? Will post more when we know more!

Transplant??? Best of luck. Hopefully, there will be no "rejection" from AS I, and my condolence to AS II for the sacrifice.

Be safe and we'll see ya there tomorrow.

See Debbie, Thats why you need ASIII. It is clearly a safty issue.

I'll make the sacrifice and haul away that old Chevy wagon of Rons so you can have the room for ASIII.

I see it more as a shafty issue myself.

Well, we're settled in space in #119. It's actually better than what you might think at first sight, and the weather isn't acutely hot. We have a non-rally person in #120 until Saturday morning, so Bam is in #121 and Kev gets #122 due to Big D's last minute recusal from the rally celebration - dunno why.

Kev, if you're on Movie row, you're just outside Lone Pine and on the wrong side of the hills.

Otters,
Thanks for the update. Are you the only one there?
I trust that you are guarding all our spots from other strange SOB/Aliens intrusion...
Please say hi to everyone who are lucky enough to show up and party today/tonight.

I picked up a canopy today

Since we don't have an awning...I thought it might be a good idea to have a a canopy.....we will see how it works......36 pounds.......but the cover has wheels......so we hopefully will have shade.....looking forward to seeing you all. By the way, my husband is an avid road bicyclist.....anybody else into hills? He is bringing his bike....we will see if there are any places to ride. paula

Hey All,

Sorry I can't make it this weekend. There is no way I can take tomorrow off. We are interviewing people tomorrow for my department and I really need to be in on the interviews. It's too important to miss. So I am really bummed. I will miss everyone. Have fun!

We're Here

What can I say? It is a little slice of heaven. We've been here for 3 hours and it hasn't snowed yet. We've got the Otters, BamCamper and her trust hound Holly (a newbie to the rally circuit), and OpenHigher. Unfortunately, OpenHigher (Rob and Sherry) must leave tomorrow morning. We did show them the M-ball and the secret handshake so they are official. We also forced them to take the motor home tour. Can't wait to see the rest of you folks. Sorry to hear that you can't make it Dan. We'll have a margie in your name. Ron

Just got done clearning the outside of the Safari. Now she's nice, pretty, and clean. But, I did the most important job.... After I cleaned her up, I put on my "AIR Forums Member" stickers !

Well, we'll be leaving Lakewood/Long Beach around 9ish. We should get there by 11 or so.

Hooray!!!!

Its Rally Day

I waited all morning for Goin camping to show up to help hose off the AS, but then I remembered that he believes in "natural cleaning only" (rain or flood).

We will be heading out around 10AM and be pulling in just after noon. For all those traveling to the rally or elsewhere today, have a safe trip and enjoy the journey.

Special note to Doorgunner: It's not too late, we are holding a space just for you.
