Several germination methods for ponderosa pine have been utilized, each with their own variations. In general, seeds undergo an imbibation treatment before stratification. Seeds are placed in mesh bags and soaked in cold running water for 48 hours. One variation is to soak the seeds in a 40% bleach solution for 10 minutes with hand agitation prior to placing them under running water. The mesh bags are place in plastic bags and stored at 1oC for 2 to 8 weeks. They should be checked daily for mold. Seeds are sown into containers and covered with media. The media should be kept moist throughout germination. Germination will occur at an average greenhouse temperature of 20oC. Alternating greenhouse temperatures of 21-25oC during the day and 16-18oC at night is an appropriate environment for germinating seeds. Germination will occur in approximately 15 days.

Alright you guys. I was trying to hold off to see what Suni and my plans were that far ahead of my daily schedule.
As being in demand at various world class "Corn Toss" tournaments, my schedule is pretty busy!
Ahammm, well, looking at my schedule, it appears that Suni an I WILL ATTEND the 2007 California Streamers Fall Rally !
Sincerely yours,
Safari-Rick

Oh oh. Not only is Safrai Rick a corn toss champ but he's a ringer in the mini golf arena as well. You have now been forewarned about Mr. Hole In One.

Kevbo,
I think you should stop the seed germination in favor of increasing your "corn bag" time. That guy Rick is just plain good, you better call in the pros to teach us the tricks to put him in his place...can't be having some newbie rookie makin' us all look bad. Pine tar may be another option, nothin' like a sticky bag to slow up competition.

What a bummer, On the way I had a flat (it was the valve steam leaking out air) going home, the blowout on another tire. What are the odds of this happening?
Anyway, I took it down this last Friday to the local tire dealer who handles Goodyear. They were super in taking care of me. They called up Goodyear right there on the spot and after describing the condition of the tire, Goodyear gave me 50% refund (tire was 2 years old). Hey 1/2 is better then none! Looking at the tire the tire guy said it looked like the valve steam was leaking (although he said it was hard to tell after the tire being all tore up).
So, I'm checking the other 3 tires and possibly changing out the valve steams for heavy duty ones.
All in all, I'm glad that there are still some good people out in the road that take the time to let you know if your vehicle has a problem.
So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it !
PS: I want to thank "Going Camping" (Milo) for seeting my AS on his way home and taking the time to stop and render assistance.

Time,
i know it's odd, but i've had this obcession to plant ponderosa pine trees for like three years. so two years ago i collected a gang load of seeds from a couple of different stands (i know the poor squirrels starved in the winter) and now i'm germinating, and then i'm going to plant a forrest in the back say 1/3 of the property. so anyway... (well it's a green idea, not bad for a redneck)
so the corn toss...
as my mother used to say... "tossem and let's go".
everybody is good. i think we should perhaps play mixed partners champs as well as the world champion singles; anyway you want to do it, and the great thing is , anyone one of us, could win on any given game or day.
if we could toss in the wind in Beautiful Gorman, we can toss anywhere.
prizes? Patron and Blue Label are reserved for a prior group activity.
thoughts?
k.

That was a very close poll...a real nail biter.
I wasn't really pulling for the Pirate Theme or the French Maids but the Circus Theme did run a close second. And since some of our fellow campers bring the circus along every time I thought that could work.
But I do honor a fair and square poll result so Country and Western it is. I'll work on it.
And by the way, I want equal opportunity corn toss practice. Please forward detailed corn holer construction instructions.
Thank you.

ms bam,
polls around here are quick and subject to change w/ the winds...
however, please find the following link to what you seek:
Corn Toss, Cornhole, Bean Bag and Bean Toss - Rules, Sets and Standards
how to join the association
rules
where to buy all your supplies, including those nifty beer coolies
all kinds of stuff related to the sport.
you could buy a set for your ranch, and at the rallies, i'll just bring my pit boxes in my over large and wide truck... this would allow unlimited tossing and preperation for the world finals.

richard and jan, thanks for info. i'm going to the feed store now for different supplies. i'm hoping for a new pine forrest soon in the back forty.
after all we got rallys to supply.
however as noted above i need to prepare for the next corn toss championship, so less tilling, and more tossing.

Burt Reynolds?
I voted for the druken Astronaut theme. I thought the sub catagorey of insanely jealus female Astronaut had promise too. I had a whole Don Knotts reluctent Astronaut thing planned too. Dangit! Now I gotta try and return the spacesuit.
