Hi Kevbo,
That Nomad has a leg draggin on the drivers side. I've seen tails of animals sticking out of the trunks of cars. Maybe you need to check that out???????

Provisions...
in the unlikely event you run low on your 40 days and 40 nights of onboard supplies...
there's always the Kern River Store...

Field Research Ahead of Fall Rally...
this campground is good for bicycles. if you're so inclined, bring'em.
on another note...
i found a fiberglass animal atop the health food store in beautiful downtown Kernville.
ALWAYS stop and take a pic of a fiberglass animal on a roof; Always.

Excellent job on the field research Mr. Bob.
I am very sorry I will not be there until next week to assist.
It is critically important to have additional opinions as to the quality of the local ale(s).
And do be careful.
I wouldn't want you to make another mistake ala the Honoruru Club and use the wrong door.
It upsets the locals.
Just sayin'...

Oh oh Bob.
I think you went out the wrong door again.
And you left your hat behind.
Ah the dangers of overbeveraging too early and unsupervised.
Wait. Who is going to supervise ME?
Oh that's right. The CHILD.
Whew.

Kevbo,
Good to hear from you again. Wishing you continued success with your research. I know that it hasn't been easy for you to cover all that ground on your own, what with the wood and all. I, for one, will volunteer to accompany you should you feel the need to retest those waters. It could be like recreating the Lewis and Clark Expedition, except with beer and fun. We are back from Bolsa and ready to take off again on Thursday. Is 14 still the preferred route? R

mr ron,
Rally Info:
today sunday oct. 28th at 1:45pm it was 83 degrees at my camp site, Kernville.
the weather the last four days was perfect. T-shirts all day, light / medium jacket at nite.
good rv park for bikes! bring'em if ya got em...
best price for gas in Kernville was $3.09 per gallon.
if we have fishing people with us... the fishing was suprerb, directly on the river at the rv park. limits of 10" - 16" rainbows.
theres a grocery store two mins from the RV park.
campsite to front door of house in simi valley: 180 miles; 2 hours forty five mins (not dragging a trailer)
Mojave California: best gas price today $3.09 a gallon.
Route Choice:
if you're coming from los angeles, i like the hwy 14, through palmdale / lancaster / mojave then hang a left on hwy 178, walker pass / onyx / weldon then north up to kernville. the rv park is about a mile from town. this route is probably a little longer, but; IMHO is safer and far prettier...
or
I5 to bakersfield, hwy 178, lake isabella / wolford heights / kernville.
k.

Pot Luck Idea...
at the pot luck last night i am across something i thought was cool...
a pumkin w/ horse douvers stuck all over it.
thought it was a great idea.
i'm not doing the pumkin w/ horse douvers stuck on... i'll stick to what i know... bacon wrapped diver scallops.
