the river in August
To whet your appetites, here's a picture (taken today by my webcam) about a mile upstream from the campground; it's looking downstream from my back yard in Kernville. (It was a dry winter, so the river's been quite low all year.)

Hello jpg and welcome.
It doesn't matter if you live close by...just hitch up and come on over.
Sometimes a short travel time is a real plus...more time to relax & play.
Come on down/over! Family, friends, and pets of all types are welcome.

The food has improved dramatically; however, the prices are quite high for Kernville; they're about average for Las Vegas. Food's worth it, though, and the bar (which is now kinda Polynesian themed) makes damn good drinks. But don't go expecting all the cowboy memorabilia; they disposed of all of that. (We bought the murals.)

Oh! Well, then, never mind! Is there some reason you don't mention the name of the place?
The namesake of the restaurant passed on a couple months ago; he was 94 or so. Quite the character; we were going to interview him for a historical project about two years ago, but he cancelled the session because it was the opening of deer season and he was going hunting.

Thelma,
according to the RV Park, they hold out site 443 for overnighters w/o a reservation. i'm going to call and use my considerable influence to have that space turned over to us...
considering i hold no sway whatsoever, other than to bride them, it will be ours in a matter of mins.
