I received confirmation that our ticket order "situation" was approved.

Soooo, I'd like to join the Airstreameri. In addition to myself, I'll be dragging three girlfriends - 1 from AZ and 2 from MD. We're all virgin burners - and I'm hoping we can make it through the entire week.

I think the burden of readying the Silver Olive and all our gear will be on my shoulders. Though I've towed the Olive back and fourth across the country three times, she's been neglected. All the running gear is in order, but the rest of the systems have not been verified yet. Looks like I know what I'll be doing on the weekends for the next several months....

I've ready a lot of info on tips, planning and surviving the event - and have many friends who have been multiple times. But I'd like to know more about the Airstreameri camp, how I can help the camp and have a great experience with ya'll.

Not much activity here ... am I the only one excited?

Thinking about a shade structure... wondering if this could be modified for use? Material too thin? Frame too weak? No way do I want to "test" my awning in the playa conditions...

Welcome FunKi (no ill allowed out there..) We're a quiet group online, seems like we don't reinvent the camp every year anymore. One of us ain't here but somewhere in Europo, others are still working or just hiding out, some never do speak but show up and bring it. I'm so proud of RMB and Bob, they think it up, get through all the Arterie and FAST paperwork and bring something; right now they are working the way through DMV to bring something neat.
The "shade structure" is a Costco Carport I bought a couple years ago from PuppyLove in Reno, it's been very faithful at staying around in the blizzards and white outs(although we do nail it down with #5 and#6 rebar).
and now, back to working some more on the application... oh dear what I indenture everyone to do. Oh, we need someone to volunteer to do LNT contact.

Just a byline, but here's a link to last year's fun if anyone's interested. I had to look it up for some verbosity in the application http://www.airforums.com/forums/f288...-129564-5.html

a few more questions, Thanks Zep for the 2016 Camp Plan, a click and the application is sent. Now, we wait. Usually July when we hear, sometimes we'll get a clue by seeing us in the Theme Camp roster or somewhere.
Next, we'll need a bit of verbosity for the WhoWhatWhereWhyWhatfor, probably next month.

Hay CDONA, Happy New Year!
FunKi, and everybody, check out the BurningMan Survival guide, lots of good stuff for a boring springtime evening. Lots of terms like Leave No Trace and MOOP.

airstream camp

Normally my wife and I bring our Airstream and camp with our kids and friends in our own camp. This year we are the only ones who bought tickets. How do we go about joining the airstream camp. We have a 25'. Who lays out the camp. Is there room for us? etc..

Welcome DeepFringe! We're probably about the most difficult camp to join, our dues are an astonishing $0, we require newbies to know more about the Survival Guide than we do, and you must have fun. No sour faces allowed. Contact our Chief Wrangler Zeppelinium, he can tell you more. We never know exactly where we'll be until we arrive, usually on 3:00 WTFoutthere unless the placer gods think we deserve to come in a few streets. When we get an ink lingling where we'll post on here, but that won't be until like July or August.

We will have to whip you into shape, as we don't normally accept any version of the word "normal." The good news is, we still have some room and kids are OK, too, as long as they keep their traps shut about how boring old people are.

Once we get a full roster (around the middle of June), I'll start considering special requests. The camp layout can change in real time, however, eg, we get a corner vs. the middle of a block. The camp is laid out to consider wind, pump truck access, and maintaining a level of openness to the street (we don't circle the wagons and wall off our interior).

The Gynecologists are Confirmed!

The Gyno's (Kelli and Gail) have tix, as do our kids (Conlin, M, 22yo and Madeline, F, 21yo, both Burgins), AND sister Jill with hubby Bruno.
The four of us oldsters will join in the Airstreamerii fun, with our little Bambi plus tents. The kids will be a presence, at least, but are threatening to set up camp elsewhere. We will see.
Count us in for a Gyno talk, help at the postcard station, postcard supplies and stamps, and driving shifts (Kelli).
I am scheming on a gifting idea I may or may not pull off, daVinci inspired. Bruno, being an artist and Italian, really should feature in it all somewhere, right?
Looking forward to seeing old friends and making new friends, too.
Gail

I am really sorry that the Gyno's have tix. What with Lyme disease and all, they are not welcome! They can be a real problem when walking in high grass. I have a jim-dandy tix remover though, and would be happy to bring it in case the tix haven't dropped off by then. Just put it over the little suckers head and pull - out he comes!

This is going to be a fantastic camp!

Trainwreck reporting for duties🙋. I will be providing espresso again this year. Last year 300 shots lasted 2 days. This year i will be doubling my inventory. Also looking forward to do volunteer work in BRC for the full 7 days. Any job recommendations? Art car is looking good! Cant wait to NOT get lost in the playa and loose my buddy's bike like last year. 😂😂😂
