So I like our list here where we can copy and paste and muck it up and bring our muckey salad and cheese and rolls for the poutluck, 6ish on Wednesday, annoying scientific talks after which we'll cut short for our in house GuyNo talks till dark.
Well that's just clear as mud and a wonderfully user friendly system.
Okay. I'll start listing here...

I made an addition to the list for myself and Creech since we won't be camping with the Airstreameri. I'm assuming this list is, at least in part, to help organize the camp, with trailer layout and group activities.

Creech, please pardon my presumption in moving your name on your behalf. I know you don't post much here and I wanted to help give the Airstreameri organizers a unit count for the camp.

Here's some of our neighbors on 3:00 HepKitten invited us to see: https://www.facebook.com/groups/Burn...ocation=stream

Hello lovely and hard working theme camp coordinators!

Welcome to the 300 sector mailing list! If you are receiving this, it
means you are a camp that has been placed within the sector bounded by
2:30 - 4:00 & Esplanade - Laissez-faire. YAY!

Your placement team consists of myself, HepKitten, and my placement
minion, Whatsit. (Don’t you just love a good minion?!?). I like to give
you a little information about how we came to do the job that we do but as
you’ll likely figure out fairly quickly I’m not normally the most succinct
person. So I've included the deets after our signatures if you’ve gotten
through this email and are still hungry to read more.

We will be arriving on the playa on Sunday, August 18th this year and will
be ready to place the super early birds on Monday the 19th. Why this is
important to you is because we will not be able to answer any questions
that are emailed to us after the 13th. If you have any questions send
them our way sooner rather than later please.

And how exactly do you get a hold of us? Well I'll tell you but first a
couple of requests. Please do not send our email out to your entire camp,
feel free to let them know that you can get in touch with us if they have
any questions but keep our email on the dl. Keep in mind that there are
over 155 camps placed in the 300 sector alone and our inbox can become
quite unmanageable (and we will become grumpy placers) if you and 5 - 10
of your camp mates all send us the same question. On the same line if you
can please make sure to include the name of your camp and/or village, as
well as one of ours, in the subject line of your email it will enable us
to answer your question that much quicker.

Hi RMB. It just doesn't work that way. No one knows yet, not even the placers. Our message from placement says we are on 3:00, and there's a hint it will be out near the I ring, but that's not for sure. Zep is our chief wrangler with the plan he drew (back on #132) on how we're going to try to set up. I think he'll arrive about Friday.
What's the Medical Clinic going to do?

What's the "Medical Clinic" going to do??

Well, take care of Airstreamers', Geologists', and gynecological needs of course ! What else?

Hopefully, it will be a nice attraction to our site, a home away from home for medicinal ministrations, a cargo depot, and a bit of shade for all. Who knows?

:-)

Latest news from placement

Here's the latest news letter from HepKitten:::::::::
Hey all,

We thought we would use this vehicle to give you some information that you
may or may not know - some of it is new some of it is old but all of it is
useful...

*** BMIR (94.5 FM)
Do you all know about Burning Man Information Radio? Do you know that
this is the official radio station of Burning Man? OK did you know that in
case of an emergency (including inclement weather) that important
information will be broadcast on this channel? Did you also know that
when you are leaving the city that BMIR will give you information about
how long the current line is? And how long it will most likely take you
to get to the highway? Cool stuff that, especially if you have a vehicle
that's not so good idling...

*** In & Outs at Black Rock City?
Do you have all your stuff in storage in Empire? Did you not bring that
special "whatever" that you can't build your theme camp without? EEP!
There is a solution if you are leaving the city before Sunday August 25th
at 6 pm it will not cost you anything. After 6 pm on Sunday it will cost
each person in the vehicle $20.00 to leave and return. The Gate has
requested that if you do need to make multiple trips you try to do so
before Sunday as the Gate (and the line/wait) is ridiculously busy then.

How does it work? Before you leave camp make sure that every person in
the vehicle has their ticket stub. On your way out of the city there will
be an exit lane on the far right. Stop at the kiosks and wait for the
Gate staff to come up to help you. They will ask to see everyone's
tickets (just to make sure you'll be able to get back in) and then will
give a wristband to each of the folks leaving who plan to return. If it is
after Sunday at 6 pm they will also need to collect $20 from each person
in the vehicle. When you come back through the gate on the way back into
the city you will be asked to show your ticket stub and they will cut off
the wristband. They will still need to search the vehicle.

** Coffee
Are you one of those Center Camp Coffee fiends? If so did you know that
they allow participants to bring your own cup? They even have a special
line for folks with a cup in hand - I'm not sure if it's shorter but it's
definitely more earth friendly - so bring your own CLEAN cup to fill with
coffee and make your burn a little cleaner. Coffee will cost you $3 a
cup.

*** Ice
I know the question floating around your camps at the moment how much is
it again? Everyone wants to know so they can bring the correct amount of
cash onto the playa. Ice will be sold at 3:00, 6:00 & 9:00 again this
year. Ice sales will begin on Thursday August 22nd (yes that is the
Thursday BEFORE the event opens!) Pre event only the Arctica station in
Center Camp will be open. Hours will be 9 am - 3 pm, however they asked
that everyone please be patient if they aren't open on time, it's likely
because they are working on some important infrastructure as they will be
building Arctica while they are open for business.

Regular hours are Monday - Saturday from 9 am - 6 pm and Sunday after the
burn they are open Noon - 6 pm. If you are looking to buy ice on Labor
Day the only ice sales that will open will be Arctica in center camp and
they are open from 9 am to noon only. Ice is still $3 for a 7# bag of
crushed ice or a 10# block of ice -- or -- $15 for 6 bags (buy 5 get your
6th for free)

*** Porta Potties
They are generally located between Consumer and Desiderata & Holy and
Interstellar on most radial streets - so they should be fairly easy to
find if/ when you are in need. The exception is of course at 3:00, 6:00, &
9:00. At 3 & 9 the front banks are pushed back to between
Extraterrestrial & False Idol, the back banks are in the standard place.
At 6:00 the only banks are between False Idol & GDP.

And remember - If it wasn't made in your body it doesn't go into the
potty. I know we all know this phrase by heart - but did you know the
folks who throw things in there that don't belong actually threaten the
event? Because the only way to clear that stuff is more or less to reach
in there and would you want to do that?

*** DMV
If you need to pick up your tags for you mutant vehicle - they are located
off the center camp portal at the esplanade, at 12:30 and Rod's Road
(where 12:00 points to the man) They will be open starting Saturday
August 24th from 11 am - 10:30 pm daily - except on Burn Day where they
will only be open from 11 am - 2 pm. DMV close on Thursday for the CORE
burn.

*** Playa Info
You all know about playa info and how useful it is - you can look for
lost friends, items and camps here. There are computers that you can look
up information here as well as super hard working helpful volunteers who
are there to try to help you. Playa info is located at the center camp
portal, on the inner ring, at 12:30 (where 12:00 points to the man) - just
look for the big blue "i". They are open from 9 am - 6 pm Wednesday
August 21 - Monday September 3rd with limited services available Monday
8/26 - Friday 08/30 from 6 pm - 9pm.

*** Volunteer on Playa!
Yes I know you've got a lot to do for your camp - but if you finish faster
than you expected or would like to give a little bit more back to the city
we all love there are many opportunities. Just head over to Playa Info
and check out the "V Spot". Any one that needs more hands to complete
their tasks will post here, so it's your opportunity to help out an artist
who's a bit overwhelmed or perhaps to help the temple crew get things
done. There are plenty of ways to volunteer and trust me it's more fun
than work!

*** Rangers
We all know and love them - but how to find them in an emergency? They
are located in Center camp just off the portal on the outer ring (ring
road) at 12:45, and have outposts at both 3:00 and 9:00 at Consumer. You
can also flag down anyone with a radio and ask them to call a BRC Ranger
for you.

*** Family Unification Network(FUN)
Are you bringing your kids with you this year? Do both of you a favor and
get registered. Just head on over to Ranger HQ in Center Camp during the
hours of 8am-11am and 1pm-5pm and fill out a simple form including your
camps address. Your child gets a cool wristband to wear and keep as a
souvenir and you get a little extra peace of mind.

In the event that your child (or you) gets lost/separated our friendly
neighborhood Black Rock Rangers will be able to reconnect you a whole lot
easier and faster. If you have lost your child or if you have come across
a lost child please escort them to the nearest Ranger outpost or find a
ranger to help you out.

*** Medical
Located at Esplanade and 5:15 and on Consumer at 3:00 and 9:00. Again if
it's a medical emergency anyone with a radio can get in touch with the
Emergency Services Department (or ESD for short) for you.

*** Recycle Camp
Recycle camp is located in the Center Camp inner circle at 5:55. They
only accept aluminum cans and are open from Monday - Sunday of event week
from 9 am - 5 pm

I think that is most of the most relevant information that you need
besides the standard, drive slow into the city to prevent dusting anyone,
when you get to your camp park your car and leave it, be respectful of
your neighbors and don't blast your music, etc, etc... - BUT you guys KNOW
and live by these already, right?

It's wet out there today

I noticed the Reno radio was talking about a thunderstorm on Facebooky, here's more from HepKitten:::::::::
Hey all,

By now it seems the entire Burner community has heard about the
thunderstorm on playa yesterday but just in case you haven't, it rained
yesterday, pretty darn hard. I'd describe what the playa looked like, but
a picture's worth a thousand words, right? So:
Instagram

Noting the 'lake' that was formed now seems a good time to remind you all
to make sure you've got a plan in case this happens while we're on playa.
In the case of heavy continuous rain (consider this any time you start
getting taller because the playa is sticking to your footwear):

- Stay in camp! You should already have everything you need there
- Dont drive your cars, art cars, or bikes - It'll stick to your wheels
and make the road washboard which is no fun for anyone later.
- Tune in to BMIR 94.5FM for information as they will provide info on weather
- The official rule is to bring a bucket and garbage bags to use as a
toilet. But - eww! I'd suggest investing in something of this sort:
luggable loo - Google Search
- Cover/secure/turn off any electrical for your camp that may be affected
by the rain water
- Check your infrastructure to make sure it is secure if winds or other
conditions pick up
- And most importantly - relax! Remember you are self sufficient Burners
and you've got everything you need. Socialize and continue to enjoy your
time on the playa (and think about the cool pictures and stories you will
get to share!)

There are plenty of other tips but really most are about common sense. I
actually have enjoyed the small amounts of rain we have had over the last
couple years and hopefully any rain during this years event will be small
and fun!

Hello all,

I am Papa Dean, a newbie to ASing, who will be at Burning Man.

I am with the Burning Band, and will be on the other side of the city from your camp. The Burning Band is camped at 8:15 and GDP. You will see our marching band at several events.

We'll be playing TUESDAY for Mardi Gras at the French Quarter at 1 PM. They're located at the 3:00 PLaza.

Hugs to all.

Papa Dean
