Talking Branson 'Spring is in the Air' Rally

Greetings,

After moping around about being trailerless I have gotten around to getting the April rally thread up and running.

Who: All Airforums Family members
What: A Spring Rally...Duh
Where: Branson, MO at Compton Ridge Campground
When: April 4-6
Why: For the fun, and the fact that 2Air won't be making chili until October.

A few notes on the site:

The north park at Compton Ridge will have wireless service for all of you who had to go into the South park last October. Unless you were like 2Air and his alien made wireless card that could receive signal anywhere....this is good news.

I have the staff working on a discount for us. When I told them we got 50% last time she was blown away. We will get 20% this time.

Don't have a trailer? No problem! The lodge is literally right next to the north park and they offer a descent rate. We plan to stay at the lodge since we are trailerless, and this will open another spot up at the park.

This park is a full hookup park with 60 cables channels added in for your additional comfort.

Post questions, comments, and concerns before I lock in the date.

BTW: If you are considering this for your first rally you will have a wonderful time. I believe over half of the attendees last October were at their first rally.

AWESOME!!!! Thanks again for stepping up to the plate in taking this on, Steve! Let me know if I/we can help!

I would be happy if we could get the April 4-6 weekend, since that corresponds with the Log Home Expo in Branson (totally personal interest, unless anyone else likes log homes!). The 18-20th works, too (Yay! our Friday off!).

Hi to Amy and Collin!

So what's the smack-talkin' contest subject gonna be this time? Salsa? Oatmeal? Omelettes? Fruitcake?

YUP, I'll be there!

Since I had to cancel the October rally (which I had anticipated for several month). I put the Spring Rally on my calendar, its in Ink! We should have the Argosy-30 by then. Thanks for organizing this event! JB

Alright....

Any opinions on the 1st weekend in April vs the 3rd?

The rally will be in April, but the 2nd weekend is definately out. Once we have a definate date I will book it. Compton Ridge will hold the slots for a few weeks while Airforums members take the time to book their campsite.

In addition to the lodge, the campground has many trailer cabins. I was informed that all the rooms at the lodge have been recently renovated and they only have a coffee pot, toaster, microwave, and dorm fridge. Not really enough to cook on. The cabins sleep eight people, and have full kitchens.

I can't fathom getting a cabin for eight with the three of us, but having a kitchen would be nice.

Let me know what everyone's thoughts are. It will make it easier going. I will make a reservation for an RV spot just in case we find a trailer by then (Keeps fingers crossed).

Thumbs up GREAT. . Count us in!

We should have our AS ready to roll by then. We are remodeling it starting this weekend.

We missed the one in Oct. because my husbands Mother Pass away in American Samoa and we had to cancel our reservation. We were so looking forward to it.

This will be our VERY 1st RALLY and we can't wait to meet everyone and check out other AS, eat, drink and do whatever you do at a rally.

Alright Folks.....

Looks like it will work out for everyone to do the first weekend. I was trying to avoid it because early April isn't traditionally known for warm weather, but mid October isn't either and look how nice it was. It's nice that we have that covered pavillion in case of rain........

Where are all those Springfieldians who only live 30 minutes from the campground???? We heard from Bill and Becky, but what of nohillgrish or Jim Lee........

I have email commitments from 2Wired and Silverflash from last October. With hope, we can fill that entire north park section up completely......

I will give this thread another day before finalizing anything...........

For those of you who noticed, I have picked up on 2Air's typing style.........

Steve......

GO HOAKIES!!!!!!!!!

I have another email commitment from 76Sovereign so the rally is looking like it will work. Seems that the first weekend in April should work the best for everyone. I will post again once I have made the rally reservation.

Everyone keep your eyes peeled for a suitable trailer for me.

Update:

I have left three messages for the campgrounds staff today and will have to try again tomorrow. Set your scheduels for the first weekend in April, but I wouldn't call for reservations until I get everything set with them. I was told that if we got 100 rigs to show up we could have 25% off .

I have 10 rigs semi-confirmed for this rally via email. I believe we had 23 last time, but may had been 26.

2air and I will probably have a basketball game to watch on Saturday night with the final four going on and all. Maybe Gene can bring the big TV again.

Zambo....poo on you for missing two in a row. Can't Hawn SP wait till another weekend? I know it would be nice to have another kid there for Collin (There was one last time, but who knows how this time will go).

I spoke with Airhog the other day and he spoke very highly of the Tigers. Weeks before the game he told me Mizzou was going to crush the Hogs. He is supposed to wear Mizzour undies and post a pic on here per our gentlemans bet, but you know what they say about people from DRY counties, and fancy underwear.

Zambo....just join us. You know you want to

Rally, No April Showers

The 1st weekend in April sounds fine to me and looking forward to it.
If I buy the Argosy, the 34 (disc-brakes!) will be for sale.
