Beverly Beach Bash IV - Oregon Coast

4th annual @ Beverly Beach State Park...
September 28, 29 and 30, 2007

Bashers - we’re gonna do it again and we've move the date up a couple of weeks hoping to trick the weather gremlins. This is a do it yourself rally - there are NO activities or meetings planned.

There’s loads to do in the area including one of the best Aquariums in the country or you can entertain yourselves with fun stuff to do in Newport: Beach combing, shopping, whale watching tours, light house gawking etc....

We will (per usual) have some community meals and big fire.

Friday night: Hot dogs and brats - hold the sand!
Bring a dish to share. We’ll bring the grills and griddles. Don't forget your drink!

Saturday night: Lasagna Smackdown - cooking contest!
Make lasagna (or heat it up) in you trailer for all to enjoy. Prizes for the best traditional lasagna and best new-fangled lasagna. Those not cooking lasagna are encouraged to contribute breads, salads, drinks and desserts.

Sunday AM: Not too early breakfast.
Eggs, taters and ham. Campers are encouraged to bring juice, coffee, hot rolls and fruit.

Beverly Beach State Park is on the ocean with wooded campsites. Parking fee is $21.00 per night. All these sites are electric and water only - but there’s a nifty dump station at the park. Beverly Beach Park has several bath houses, a playground, beach front and streams. Last year we had 34 trailers at this event.

I have reserved sites on the G loop, sites 2-27 and prepaid them - so if you want one let me know - first come first served! The ones on the inside of the loop are pull-throughs. # 7 has my name on it. The park will be busy this weekend - do not expect to just show up and get a site. Last year the place was sold out - you need a reservation!.

Here is a link to the park website. You can view a site map here.

Fair warning: It can be cold this time of year at this park - rainy as well. This is a rain or shine event. If the weather turns foul - we’ll tarp the G-loop!

Bring your instruments - we've got jammers!
Bring your camera - great views.
Bring your windbreaker - good beach-combing.

Are you going to enter the Lasagna Smack Down on Saturday? A Fungi Lasagna could be a winner. We're starting to gather the prizes now, more on the categories later.

May we have G8 please?

For food, we'll bring a salad Friday night, spinach lasagna on Saturday, and juice for Sunday.

We'll be scullery help, too.

Oh! I was so hoping it was going to be in October again.
I cannot come and I REALLY want to. I will still be on contract in Boise, ID.
Bummer.

G13 and G14 please for us and the inlaws.

BTW, how does the scheduling of this rally effect the much whispered about and highly anticipated rumored Steens Mountains rally? Last i heard that had tentative late August, early Sept plans.

Was really looking forward to heading to the SE corner of the state.

I don't know - hadn't heard any update. But we really couldn't wait any longer to reserve parksites at BB.

Hi Janet, Put me down for G-11. I will reserve my extra dates with the park service.

when are you coming down ?

Sorry Folks but, the Steens Mountain idea I was tossing around is going to have to wait until next year. Family matters and gas prices factored greatly into that decision. If it is 3.35gal here it is probably close to 5gal out there.
