We have prizes.........
but not for the "TIRD RACE"("tote'ally interminable race duffs)!!........ Chris is supplying those. I have obtained about $200 worth of prizes from Sutton RV to give away after dinner Saturday night! With all the attending rallyers I will have someone(s) draw out of a hat 8-10 (depending on how many prizes to give away) numbers of the camping sites that we are occupying. Winners must be in attendance.........and remember which space they're in to claim their prize. Just remember which site you're staying in (easy on the merlot )........you could be the big winner!
NorCal B.......bring your guitar for the jam sessions.........and anyone else who plays an instrument........this is a talented musical group! Brad......you could bring your French horn!
I'm sure you'll all have your pumpkin carving tools at hand.......sawsall, router, jigsaw, and dremmel kit! I should be a fun competition! We'll think up some prizes for the kids!

Provided they arrive in time. The forums is sending an AIR sticker for each site as well! Very cool!
on edit: They have arrived!

The trailer is packed, the truck is stuffed and we're heading out in the AM.. (7 hour drive for us).
We were reading the nor cal rally thread and decided to take a close look at our trailer tires today.... end result - we got new ones. They were starting to show signs of age, checking etc.
Gary's been working on customizing the tote today... (Give a guy a day off work and just look at the trouble he can get into) and there is an embarrassing amount of propane loaded in the back of the truck! Best of all the weather looks acceptable (I guess that's all you can hope for on the OR coast)
See you at the beach!

Weather forecast for Newport
Looks like we'll luck out again this year!! The weather should be good for the rally........and I hope for the trip home for everyone!
Nights will be cool.....but better for campfires! And the days should be great for walks on the beach!
Newport, OR
<LI class=cf>Clear, 41° - Wednesday
59° / 42°
- Thursday
60° / 42°
- Friday
61° / 41°
- Saturday
61° / 41°
We're leaving tomorrow about 1pm.....and with just a short jaunt of 60 miles, we should pull into BB about 2pm. I feel guilty about such a short drive........but hey..........I'm not complaining......only Jim and Karen (Orexella), and Jonathan and Stephanie (Campcollector) have a shorter drive!
I hope to have time to visit with all of the rallyers this year......and learn a few things about Airstreaming! We've got most of the core group (from the first BB rally) attending.........and I'm excited that we'll have new folks in the NW we can develop friendships. Plus we have some of the best moderators and most active and most knowledgable folks on these forums attending!!
You can't beat that!
You know you have the worst case of aluminitis when you look forward to AS forums rallys more than family reunions........but we're really all family!!

Ready, Set. GO!
Topped off the propane in the A/S and in the BBQ tonight.
I'll be out with the A/S tomorrow afternoon, and will swing by the house on Friday to pickup the BBQ.
We won't be out to the site for the night until about 8 ... we are part of a CERT (Commmunity Emergency Response Team) currently in formation and training.

We're all packed (actually we were mostly packed on Sunday - does that say anything about how much we're looking forward to this trip?) Depending on work schedules, we'll either head out this afternoon or early tomorrow morning. Not looking forward to the long drive, but definitely can't wait to be there. See ya!

We have the ol' trailer hitched, packed and ready to roll. We should leave Eugene by 4pm, so we should arrive by about 6:30pm.
We're looking forward to a great time. Catching up with everyone and meeting Airstreams we haven't met.
My parents, who are staying in the yurt, may be there earlier. If you see a couple wandering around carrying bacon and wearing aluminum hats... run. Wait I mean say hi.

I thought we took our regular vitamins this morning, but as fate would have it, we accidentally grabbed Dr. Flypaper's Patented Slow Motion Pills.
ETA: before sunset. I hope.

Thanks to you ALL for such a fabulous weekend, especially to Janet and Gary for being such wonderful hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed the tours: both on the seeing and receiving ends! How inspiring it was! Thanks to all for indulging us with our not-so-well-behaved Pipp! We got home in time to winterize both the trailer and the property--predicted temps here in Dundee-29 tonight and 26 tomorrow. OUCH!! You are welcome at anytime to stop in for a visit. Lots to do and see in Yamhill County! We'll be looking forward to the next get together..Pat and Janis
