Looks like time to pipe up with our potluck picks... Friday night we thought we'd assemble the baby field greens/tomato/feta/vinaigrette salad that vanished pretty well at BBB. Saturday, we thought we'd bring either a French style potato salad (New, red potatos and dijon dressing) or wild rice salad. We'll probably bring some tofu dogs for Friday night too.
Ought to be a fine time!

You can look up Trout Lake, WA on google maps and it will show you the way and tell you how long it will take to drive from where you are. Basically you'd be coming down I-5 to Vancouver, then 14 out to Trout Lake. You'll end up on the south side of Mt Adams, if that helps you geographically

Gary---We will bring our BBQ grill as well. Also planning on bringing our outdoor cooking range....We are looking forward to it.
On another note, I drove up to area 33 about the middle of last week and noticed several RV's camped in the area of the fire pit...Was wondering if Janet was possibly able to reserve that area for our forum crew. Hope so!
-------Cheers Bob

Area 33
Hello All,
We'll be arriving at area 33 on Thursday, probably early afternoon so we can attempt to 'commandeer' the fire pit.

I think 2air is planning on arriving on Tuesday or Wednesday and knows where to park to help reserve the area for us. We will be coming in probably Saturday afternoon and staying until Tuesday morning so we don't have to face the MemDay traffic. We'll be coming from Spokane where we're attending an African Caravan maintenance rally with 14 folks attending. It will be the first time meeting these folks and see some of the trailers that are going, including our Argosy. It should be interesting!
Stef....could you bring your big coffee pot? We'll make coffee for everyone if we have a group breakfast. We'll also have a small grill to add to the cooking.
Be sure to buy everything at home before you leave. The local general store has very basic things at a premium price!
We're bringing our kayak and bikes. Maybe we could do a group ride. It's a nice valley to bicycle in.......lot's of small dairies, everpresent view of Mt Adams. There's a nice lake about 15 miles down the road if folks want to bring a canoe, small boat, or kayak (Darol?). There's also guided group white water rafting trips down the white salmon river. It's one of the fastest flowing whitewater rivers in Washington and has some scary plunges. The water is colllllllllllllllld!
We're also bringing our genset, if anyone needs their battery topped off.
See ya'll in TL!

We will be in Thursday late afternoon. I'm going to bring a bunch of artichokes to steam on thursday for dinner (weather permitting). Anyone interested? I'll bring extras - they are on season right now.

tell ya what..
I'll bring a bunch of them and a couple of big pots and some butter and lemon. We can steam as many as there are mouths for and you can tote the rest home. I think we have post space for about 15 chokes.
Last year I got a case to take to the wenatchee rally and they ran a buck a piece.

Update: I spoke with the farm/park owners today. They have ordered 2 port-o-lets to be delivered next thursday AM. If you are coming in before that and are without facilities.... try not to drink much.
The ten day forcast looks great (crossing fingers)!
We still need some food donations - see full list in post 16.
Friday - we need condiments for brats, another desert or 2, a few more sides.
Saturday - we still need munchies!
Sunday AM - we need a few volunteers to fire up their ovens and bake some cinnamon rolls or similar. I highly recommend the frozen Rhodes ones, let em rise overnight on counter or not and bake - they even come in a disposable pan!
