Steph & Dave,

Icky poo.... you will be missed! Sorry you won't be there. You just need to retire and go camping. There is never enough money whether working or retired... so I recommend retirement. :P

Excellent advice! I'll try to make it happen as soon as possible, but it might be a while yet...

Cornbread Doubling Up?

Hi,

I've left word on Blue Pearl's cell phone regarding the cornbread volunteers' doubling up for Sunday dinner. If she calls back, I'll ask her to contact acgypsy to work out a resolution. She's now at the Tumalo rally and plans to be out in the hinterlands throughout next week.

Also, I'll take care of the sour cream & chopped white onions for the chili topping. And, we can almost certainly depend on leftovers for deserts.

That should wrap Sunday dinner up nicely. My thanks to all you volunteers.

Walt

Thanks ac

Hi ac,

Thanks. I haven't heard back from Blue Pearl, maybe the Tumalo state park is out of her cell phone range. And, I have no idea of when she planned to make enough cornbread for 40 people.

My neighbor was shopping at a Korean market and found some fresh peppers which he gave to me. I can eat one together with a full dinner plate without sweating too much. I won't put them in the chili when cooking, but I'll bring some for those souls who enjoy the heat. They're about 1 inch long and maybe a quarter inch in diameter with a slight taper.

A couple of us were talking and thought it might be fun to have a little swapmeet/tag sale, like they do at the Tin Can Tourists, Mt. Baker rally....just for fun.

So, we are bringing a small box of fun Vintage or Trailer Treasures to trade or sell ....at reasonable prices of course

In this economy we will just be trading our old Junk for new Junk, and
think we got something special....what fun Join us....

............I just wanted to clarify what I mean't by "swapmeet"
Caroline and I were just bringing a small box of vintage treasures to look through and thought if anyone else wanted to join us....no signs or out side our group!!!!!!!!
Just dragging out a few little treasures and seeing if we wanted to exchange, one afternoon.

We can't get out of Dodge until Saturday morning.

Can someone save a spot away from the fire for us too?

We'll bring wine to share!

I'll be there sometime on Friday, not sure when. I will be bringing chairs, lights and the canopies.

Janet do you need extra tables ? I have two eight foot tables. Let me know.

I will also bring a cooler full of beverages. Mostly water and iced tea.

I am not sure how the parking is going to work out but I'd like to be away from the fire and in the shade. Maybe where the other folks were last year with the square boxes. Thanks !

What's with the fire, and why does everyone want to be away from it? I think we'd like that option too, as timid newcomers...
We'll be bringing beverages to share too---most of them with grapes in their genes, and a few from the hops family (great new brewery in Hood River.)

It is just a busy area.

I am going to need the relative down time and quiet this go around. I've been on the road for a week and a half for work. I'm looking for someone to drive me up there. haha !

For some it is the smoke. Just a guess.

If you don't mind the activity it is nice to be relativley close to the fire ring.

Thanks Chris. This rally has always sounded like something we'd love to do. This year the timing's perfect, since we're visiting family in Hood River before heading off for an exploration of Eastern Oregon.
We have no problem ceding the "quiet" spots to those that need them. After all, Terry's deaf in one ear (whichever one's on my side) and I do love my earplugs...

Regarding the fire- For me its a smoke thing. I have some nasty allergies. (One of the reasons I own an Airstream.) I doubt the fire would bother most people.

On the road again!

Claudia and I hit the road today. It's been hot here 97 yesterday. Heading north sound like a good idea to me. This is always one of the best! Looking forward to see everyone.

For Medical reasons I am requesting away from the fire as well. Bad allergies and sinus problems.

Anyone know the flee and tick situation? I will have my two cats with me.

I don't think we need the tables - last year we just rounded up all the picnic tables. The cooler with water and tea would be greatly appreciated and the canopy. We will bring a couple as well.

We will find you a space around the corner and I was hoping to put a couple of the longer trailers in that area as well. For some reason we have more big rigs this year.

Parking tow vehicles in the old stock pen by the lower gate last year really improved the space situation and I think we will need to do this again.

Lights!

We should be there Friday afternoon sometime. Could you save me a site thats away from the landing area? I don't mind the flashing lights but the bright white spot lights are a little jarring in the middle of the night. Thanks!

You'll get used to them after a while. The probes are another matter and may take more time to adapt to..
