Ha Ha!

If (when) Jim floats away, Janet and Gary can nab the 28ft'r left behind! A little steak will go a long way with GiGi!

Jim - I'm on night re-prieve tonight. I just got back from our Girl Scout camping experience (Mona and the girls are camping out... boys are shown the door at night.... boo hooo! I'm sleeping in my own bed tonight... but up at 5:00 to meet them by breakfast.) and had a great time canoe-ing. Morgen was a bit afraid, which surprises me, as I know she has had great times before in a kayak. I think she likes the "cockpit" enclosure better in the kayak. Anyway.... we just may try to rent some kayaks close to the campground. Anybody want to drive my van as a chase vehicle to come get all of us (Jim, and the M family)? I guess we can get all this figured out when we get there.

Hope for sun! (although it was fun paddling in the rain today too).
Marc

We'd be happy to be the pick up crew. We could even drop you off above the campground and the you could paddle down. Things are getting very green here....I'm hoping for beautiful weather.

Well Marc......I've been waiting for a good day myself to kayak........too much rain lately for me!.......although I have more free days to do this........I'll be locally renting the Pungo Classic from Wilderness Systems to try out, which is similar to the Pungo Duralite 12' 39#....a single from WS's that I'm interested in. I'd better make my decision soon.......as there's one for $775 on sale that I like! And it looks like there's an area nearby to our CG of just estuaries that we can paddle out and back without any pickup needed!
Any thoughts on this Kathleen?
And Gary........this is a good time to try out a kayak......as I think Janet said you were interested getting into this!

Yes the boat launch and beach is right next to the campground. You can explore the confluence of the rivers then paddle around the estuary. Depending on the run off the Wenatchee river may be moving pretty fast or not at all, you must cross it to get to the estuary. But you could float from the campground down the Columbia to Hydro park which is next to Rock Island dam. I'm not sure how long this would take. But hey, you got all weekend to explore.

Well as things get a little closer to rally time I thought I would collect a little grouping of brochures to help you with travel plans. Please PM me with addresses for mailing. I will try to have this sent out to by the end of the week.

A friend has also agreed to give us access to his wifi for the weekend just in case you need to check email, google something, or run Rhapsody for some great breakfast tunes. I find the Bossa Nova station to be bright and cheery as I'm sipping my mamosa and scrambling eggs.

We now have 8 trailers planning on being at the rally! Yippee!

So far I have 3Ms, Campcollector, Janet & Husband, and Jordandvm's addresses for mailing. I went to the visitors center and rounded up some good stuff. I will have to put in the mail on Thursday morning, so if you have your address to me by then you will get mailed out this week.

Marc,
I think Kathleen likes to see everyone who's coming enroll on the rally attendance site http://www.airforums.com/forum...-21;&e=226&c=1

See Marc this is what happens when you don't follow the rules...you confuse Jim. So people get their math problem to come out right please check in on the rally calendar.

Click here and make it easy and painless.

I pm'd 64Lawncondo, she said they were going to think about it. PM'd 65globetrotter, a maybe, I let them know that there were going to be playmates for his kids there. After all he does need to come to the rally to show off his photo contest winnings. And I did get a message to Tin Can Luv, he said he may come for a visit on Saturday. But I know there are more NWstrners out there. We would love to see you at the rally. The food, company, music and storytelling are always great.

I have a list of streamers who aren't on the forums (or don't check often), so I emailed all of them. See if we can stir up a few more. Looks like a nice sized rally. I WISH I COULD COME!!!!!

Thanks Stef,........that's a great idea!

I wondered if anyone had a list of folks that have been to past rallies! Are they going to respond to you or to Kathleen? Do you also email any of the Oregon Unit members......or does this compete with their rally schedule and attendance? The Western Oregon Unit has a rally the same weekend, but it's in Salem.......and I'm not too enthralled with the location (besides I'll be in Salem for the Intl in July).

I PM'd about 10 Washingtonians that were close from a search of forum members. There are over 157 registered as WA residents, over half haven't used their membership since the first day they signed in. Crazy! I also PM'd wascobob! Cady and Gigi need some more playmates.

Someone might want to PM Van too. He missed the last one because he doesn't hit the forums as often in winter.

I heard back from the Timliks, Janis has a business trip that weekend, so they can't make it.

I gave everyone the links to this thread, and the link to the rally sign up, so they might email me back, or they might just sign up here.

Karyn from Airsteam of Spokane will be unable to attend the rally but offered to send some goodies our way! Yippee! We love goodies. I'm thinking what is a Mexican Fiesta without sombreros? So Saturday night we will have an aluminum hat making contest. Those 3Ms-kids will probably win again.

I'm laughing hysterically while sitting at my desk. (That's okay - I do it all the time and my co-workers are mostly used to it). So Janet, are you going to sing that for us as we sit by the campfire?
