I have camped at Carters lake,,,The campgrounds there are closed from Nov to April as I recall.
It is another nice Corps of Engineers park, lacking only hiking trails, but has nice lake access, and good sites. It is only 30 miles from my home.

OK, I don't want to miss this one either. I'll try to place my reservation tomorrow afternoon.
Kathy, you will be bringing a canoe won't you?

We're in - site B14! We'll plan on bringing the "drive-in".
The lake is the size of Rhode Island, yet it is still great for kayaks and canoes.

When I said drive-in, I guess I meant "walk-in". We brought a 10' x 20' screen and projectot - we showed Raiders of the Lost Ark. Pic thanks to klattu.

That's the plan, and maybe a boat too! See you there!
Heard from TJ last night. Unfortunately the computer in his truck went kaplunk on Tuesday. If only it had happened on Sunday, we would still be in Destin! I hate it when things don't work out the way they should!
Anyway, the plan for this rally is for TJ and I both to bring our trailers. This one is close enough to home that we might have a bigger group with us. That means....more canoes, more boats, more food.... Um, um, I'm getting excited already!

So this means that you will come to an Airstream rally and actually show up with an Airstream this time?

I resemble that remark! I have only been to one rally without my Airstream! I had to be fair, even if I didn't want to!

My husband and I are thinking of ditching the Rod Run and coming to the N. Ga Rally and since it will be our Maiden Voyage, what would be the best route to take from Knoxville to Hiwassee? We actually live 45 miles west of knoxville, but most people have never heard of Kingston.
Thanks

How about that, a wonderful gentleman in a class A SOB motorhome helped me at the Can Opener when I had plumbing leaks. There must be nice people in Kingston.
One way to come from your neck of the woods is down I-75 to pick up US 64 East at one of the Cleveland exits. Go to Ranger NC and pick up US 129 South to Blairsville, turn right onto US 76 East and in about 12 or 15 miles you're at the campground. You could take US 76 right out of Kingston to Blairsville, but I'm not sure what the road is like.
