There are priorities and then there are rallies.

Lake Chatuge is a'callin'

We know some of you might go bowlin’
but if you care about fresh air breathin’
you will be in Georgia for the Springstreamin'

Backsliders might even go deep sea fishin’
but the food you would miss
will make you start wishin’.

Hiawassee’s too far? You’ve cracked your noggin’!
Anyone with a lick’a sense will say,
gettin’ there is half the fun plus some southern cloggin.

Don’t worry about the weather & stormin’,
there is WiFi and all those awnin’s. If it rains
we can even track up your new floorin’.

Area 2 you ask? Why it’s almost like heaven
and absolutely nothin’ to be scared about;
closest thing to 51 is A47.

This is a far cry from boondockin’
and so many A’Streamers will attend
that the forum will be rockin’.

Listen…, LakeChatuge is a callin’
and a heartstoppin’ siren it is.
What you can’t hear, you don’t want to miss seein’.

The rallies are very laid back. Sometimes there are some organized events for folks to attend if they wish. We had a polishing demo at the Can Opener Rally at Topsail last weekend. Some folks will be bringing water crafts to this one, so I think there will be some "playing on the water." We will have a pot luck dinner on Saturday evening. Everyone brings a dish and enjoys. The theme is to meet other Airstream enthusiasts, see the many varied Airstreams and, above all, have fun!

Hope you will join us!

Don't be shy. Just pick a number.

To the lady at the reservation desk, "Something in Area2, by the water & big enough for a 34 footer, please."
So here we are with a most "lucky" number.

************************************************** *
Hello, reservations please....

It seems “13” has always had a mission,
but there is clearly a limit
to this silly superstition.

B13 will be our place by the shore.

But, you know what?

Talk is cheap and we may change our minds.
Being on the safe side is better than the curse
of only being able to write blank verse.

We only hope to amuse and not offend
if we have to wear rabbit parts,
or draw weird signs on your skin.

We are excited and look forward to the fun
and with our big pot of witches brew
there is sure to be plenty of sun.

Can't Stand to Wait That Long!!!!

I know April is just around the corner but it also seems like an eternity from now. I'm already looking for some camping arrangements between now and then. Probably a GA state park somewhere north of Atlanta.

Got a cooped-up feeling, gotta get out of town, got those Airstream camping blues!

I feel the same way. Will probably look for a date in March. Maybe it will warm up a bit by then. McKinney Campground is a good one in Cartersville, just north of Atlanta. It's an Army Corp of Engineers place and one of my favorites!

we enjoy viewing everyone's Airstreams outside, and in if ok with the owner. ( we have home tours in the aftternoon)
We share food at a Saturday evening deal, also wine and beer for those who care for that. Last time we shared coffees also...
Some of us pick guitars and other instruments...
Last time we had some great aluminum vintage boats that were brought and many got to ride on the lake on them, also canoes, etc.
No formal agendas, but we can have polishing demos, riveting demos, and share any info that is needed to help.
It is casual fun, and very addicting....I will be attending (I think) the 9th one of these, the location has moved, but seems everyone enjoyed Lake Chatuge so this our third one there.

Just booked C-4. Arriving on the 17th and departing on the 24th. The attached picture is a view of one of the campsites close to our area. I plan on bringing my fishing boat.

Kathy (and others who may be reading), are you familiar with Carters Lake? There is a great looking campground on the North side off of GA 282/US 76 called Woodring.

"Woodring Branch Campground is located at Carters Lake in Georgia. Carters Lake is one of the most scenic lakes in the Southeast. Located at the southern end of the Blue Ridge Mountains, its sparkling waters and rugged shoreline provide a beautiful surrounding for a variety of recreational opportunities which include camping, picnicking, boating, fishing, hiking, hunting and mountain biking. Woodring Branch Campground has 42 sites, 31 with electric and water hookups and 11 tent sites. Additional amenities include hot showers, a dump station, laundry facilities, a boat ramp, a playground, and public phones."

We have looked at it and decided to use it if (when) we get our '73 together as a shakedown before North Georgia Fairgrounds. Here is a map showing the 2 camping areas. I couldn't find photos, but it is a really nice area.

Just a thought for sharing with you and others.

O.k. I'm in C-2 arriving on the 20th and departing on the 23rd. BTW that was the last waterfront lot! Not that it looks very far to the water from anywhere in the campground.

Glen, we'll be neighbors, I reserved C-1! Hope there are no ghost with that coach; maybe we'll have to sit around the campfire and tell some ghost stories in case there aren't.

Now Kathy/Alan, for those who haven't been to Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds and those of us who have started our senior moments already like me, IIRC, there are no picnic tables but there are fire rings, is this correct? Or is it the other way around?

Also, I just went to the rally calendar page and registered. There are only 4 other folks registered on the Forum's Rally Calendar page. I know there are more than that that are attending. Don't forget to go to the Rally Calendar and go to the month of April and sign in that you will be attending this rally so we will get a head count of attendees.

Here is a link to make it easier: http://www.airforums.com/forum...=2007-4-20&c=1

There are two other rallies that week end on the Forum's Rally Calendar so make sure you click on the right one.

Minnie's Mate, I know there are picnic tables and I think there are fire rings (or rocks in a circle might be more like it).

Thanks for the reminder to register on the rally site!

I'll Have to Pass

Hi group,
I can't make it to this one due to a previously scheduled event. Hopefully, I can make it to the Fall Rally or next event.
