We rolled in around 1pm, spent the last several hours unpacking & scrubbing up the pots. Soon as we catch our breaths I will tally up and post a report. I can say that the preliminary findings are nothing short of fabulous.

We are still here, went to the Nascar Hall of Fame today and had a great time. Bonnie came in second in the simulator race car, I was # 5 of 6.
Leaving tommorrow after the laundry is finished. Outer Banks later this week. We had a very good time meeting all of our fellow streamers at this rally. John worked very hard to put it all together, the fish fry and chicken bog were excellent, despite a few interuptions by the weather.
It's happy hour gotta go Greg & Bonnie

Many thanks to everyone for making this such a fun weekend. Since this was my FIRST event with an "Airstream Family" the bar is now set pretty high for those that are part of future travels. I'll say one thing, John can cook fish -- hailstorms notwithstanding! Hope to see everyone again next year. Barry

The numbers are in
By my count we had 21 rigs and about 50 people, including 3 folks that came by for the Saturday tech seminar by Terry.. Pretty darn good for a first time gathering.
NC, SC, Georgia, Illinois, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Ontario (Makes it an international rally), Texas.
Week old Streamers to 35 year veterans.
Short ones, long ones. New ones , old ones. (I'm talking trailers)
Bottom line... one of the best times I've ever had. What a GREAT bunch of folks! Don't think I can wait an entire year to get back together.
We are thinking perhaps early Fall, maybe a bit more western NC, then back to Charlotte area again next March.
Terry, you made the difference. Thanks
Thank you everyone for coming, for pitching in, for sharing the love.
We will keep you posted on the next gathering.
Safe & happy travels & we'll see you down the road. J & S

Thanks, John and all who made this Rally so much fun.
Thanks, Terry for sharing.
Great food, and goofy weather, but what would Woodstock have been without the mud?
The hail was worrisome, but no harm, no foul.
Thanks also for posting some pictures.
We hope to be there (hopefully more westerly location) in the fall, and next spring too. Hope some other musicians can make it and have some jamming.

All I can say is WOW! What a wonderful time we had at our first Airstream Rally. Despite the hail and rain, the camaraderie was fantastic and we got to see so many Airstreams! We are still blown away by the amount and quality of food that was served.
Had a little mishap on the way home. Stopped for gas and saw Terry and Marie go by...five minutes later, I managed to rip the bumper off pulling out of the gas station. Used the Electric cable to re-secure it till I could get to a store where I bought the last roll of duct tape....Which worked phenomenally well till I got her home. NEVER tell a Southern man "You can't fix THAT with Duct tape".... John, I need to get a couple of those tee shirts.

Dave, sorry about your mishap. Better bumper stuff than sheets of aluminum. Duct tape and clothes hangers, "don't leave home without 'em".
I think the weather man said Denver really got a dumping of the hail, so maybe, even with a bent bumper, you were in the right place. Karma.
PM me an address, I'll send the shirts. Only have XL left, maybe 1 2XL.

When we got home yesterday, I left Bertha sitting at the top of the hill, and cut the grass where the trailer usually gets parked, The back yard will have to dry out some before I attempt driving back there. It's certainly been a wet winter and looks like a wet spring.
I hope everybody we haven't heard from yet got where they were going safe and sound, I'm off to work to rest up from the rally...

What a great experience for our first ever Airstream Rally!
Many thanks to John, Susan, and sons Jay & Phil for all their hard work and warm welcome. Also to Terry for bringing me the parts and for the very useful info and tips - first time I had seen Olympic Rivets in use!
We met so many great folks and I think the brief hailstorm didn't detract from the fun one bit - so glad we could stop by on our way home to Canada.
This morning (Mon) we are at "Top of Georgia" near Helen, and tomorrow we should be in Asheville where we will stop for a few days before completing the trip home to Canada.
Hope to take a look at the Biltmore Mansion - it better be all it is cracked up to be, they sure know how to charge for the tickets. Think I'll check round first and see if we can find any discount coupons! I think the full tour is up around $60 each. Still, we only live once!
Thanks again! .......... Brian & Connie.

Umm, realized that the steamed clams Saturday night were actually oysters. I'm a Yankee, they all look the same to me! Yummy little treats, they were.
We decided yesterday morning that we were too close to Edisto Beach to pass it by, so will be there today for 3-4 days before starting our winding ramble home.
Spent last night at Santee State Park, a lovely place.
If you have never been to the Carolina coast, you just gotta go, folks. We are looking forward to long walks with Lily on that full-of-shells beach, some dolphin sightings and the smell and sound of the ocean.
Stay safe, y'all, and see you next year.
Maggie

Betsy and I had an uneventful return home. Really enjoyed meeting everyone, and seeing all the permutations of airstreams. The food was just WOW! Thanks.

Looks like a great weekend. We will be looking for the fall gathering hopefully here in the Mountain section of NC. IT is a great place to be in the fall colors. Sorry we were not able to make it down to the first gathering the food sounds yummy and the fellowship sounds like it was even better.

Maggie, bet you thought that was chicken in the chicken bog, and didn't notice that road kill possum out at the highway was missing. Tastes just like chicken.

Ha! I have eaten rabbit and squirrel--so there! Brunswick stew--critical ingredients.
I saw you cookin' them chickens, so know that's what they were.
