I'm happy to be mistaken here and confirm that New Jersey was represented this year. MoPar John took the lie detector test and has fully acknowledged that he was IN FACT at the Alumalina Rally.

He was also at lunch today.

ThanX all, See ya'll down the road

Greetings from snowy Vermont

Hi John,
We know that there was an impressive delegation from the Green Mountain State - you even listed Vermont twice on the talley. Oops. Thanks again to everyone for the great time!

Smile Happy Thanksgiving to our Alumalina friends

Hi John, Susan, Terry and Annie,

Anne and I want to wish you all a happy and safe Thanksgiving. To all of the Alumalina alumni we want to say have a Happy Thanksgiving season.

All of our Blue Ridge possum vendors were interested in the comments about this year's possum bog? I have shared with them that I heard only positive comments about the meat in the bog including the comments about the meat tasting like chicken. I assured the attendees that we had more than enough possum for the bog so that we had cut down on the amount of other types of meat.

Back to Thanksgiving, our family has a lot to be thankful for in 2018.

We look forward to the next Alumalina in October of 2019. Until then... be safe.

We will see you down the road in 2019. Remember, the International Rally is in Doswell, VA in July.

Kind regards,

John & Anne

Theft discovered...

John, Susan and all the volunteers: what a great Rally. Thanks!

I had an unfortunate discovery when I got home. A thief had stolen my propane tank cross-bracket. Would you believe, at some time during the Rally, someone opened up my tank lid, unscrewed the large "wing nut" on the hold-down rod, removed the wing nut, washer and tank cover, then stole the cross-bracket that bridges between the two tanks? Then they replaced the washer, replaced the cover, replaced the top washer, then screwed down the wing nut then fastened the lid shut. So when I traveled home, the (metal, fortunately) tank cover kept the propane tanks from falling out and dragging by their hoses. I would have noticed if the lid was off but in hiding the theft, thankfully everything else was reinstalled! We did not have any issues, and for less than $8, we bought a new bracket which is now installed.

Phil

Amazing story, Phil! I guess I should start checking the tanks before I leave. Glad you had no damage and were able to replace the bracket inexpensively.

Phil, that is unfortunate and I am sorry to hear that it happened. The next round of drinks is on me.
Any chance it could be operator error? I only mention it because once after filling propane at a Flying J, I nearly pull off without my cross over bracket in place. Had it not been for my running buddy Terry, who spotted my goof, I would have driven off with loose tanks myself. Just a thought. I guess I cannot believe an Airstream pal would steal from another pal. Disappointing.

Alumalina 2018 Rally Video

I'm pleased to publish this link to a video I produced for YouTube of the 2018 Alumalina Airstream Rally.

Alumalina 2018 Airstream Rally

When I posted on YouTube I noticed Mary Johnson has also posted a video about the 2018 Alumalina rally. Here is a link to her Alumalina video.

2018 Airstream Alumalina Rally - Marion NC

Enjoy watching both videos and relive this annual Airstream event. Over 225 Airstreams and 450 people attended!

Reserve a spot on your calendar for next year's event. October 24-27, 2019 at the same location -- Tom Johnson Camping Center rally park in Marion, NC.
