For us newbies, is the possum dinner a potluck, or is everything provided? Do we bring food sides for the other dinners? Thanks...wanna make sure no one goes hungry!

Hi John, and all! Looks like it’s not going to work out for us this year ... work being done at the house. We so hate to miss it. It was a blast last year, and John, you and “the crew” do such an excellent job! I don’t know how you do it really. Especially now that it has grown to be such a big event! I think our first was your 2nd rally at Lake Wateree several years ago. That was every bit as fun..just a smaller gathering, but in a great setting for sure. I know you guys will have a great time, as always. Say hi to “Rita” for us!

From a previous post John made...

What we have and what we need
We have the HOT DOGS, BUNS, AND BASIC CONDIMENTS for the Thursday night kick off.

What we need is any side type items, chips, pasta, slaw, beans, deserts, pig knuckles, chicken feet. The Chili is covered.

We have our famous POSSUM BOG for Friday night. A delicious bog of fresh celery, carrots, sausage, rice, onions, and of course fresh Himalayan Possum. If you are not familiar with Himalayan Possum, do not worry, it tastes just like chicken. You will like it.

It is a meal in itself but any sides or deserts are always welcome.

We have the fabulous FISH FRY on Saturday night with grade A white fish fillets, shrimp, devil crab, FF, and HP. We will have plenty, and WILL NOT RUN OUT, so if the lines are long, just sit back, have a second drink, relax.

We need any deserts, slaw, pasta.

Remember that Saturday breakfast is all pot luck, so please be generous, we have a big crowd.

Here's a small tip for any new folks:
Most any Airstream Rally you attend will request you bring your own set ups to the meals: Plates, bowls , flat ware, cup/drink etc. It saves a huge amount of money for the rally. Get a tote bag of some sort, put these items in it, keep it packed, stored, and ready for each meal. Grab-n-go.

There has never been a shortage of great food at Alumalina….thank you all in advance for contributing.

Paula, Larry, sure gonna miss you guys this time, but mark the calendar for same time next year and we hope to see you then.

And thanks for your kind words. Those days at Wateree State Park were good days, but the lack of shelter drove us away. Now in our 4th venue, we have a big shelter and plenty of room. Always seeking a fine time for all.

We pick up Rita, Hosea, and their cousin Lime Green tomorrow, then head out Monday. I am sure they will miss you also, they love company.

Hope the home project goes well. And thanks for checking out.

Safe and happy travels.

Jeff got a new job and can’t make it. But I’m going to try to not embarrass myself by coming without him. Hopefully I’ll get by with a little help from my friends.

Once on RESISTOFLEX ROAD, very shortly you will see the RALLY PARK on your LEFT. Look for the gate, on the left, into the Rally Park. Come on in and park.

Once you have settled in, please go to the SERVICE CENTER ….Big building w/ green roof that was on your right as you turned into the Rally Park. You can walk/drive to it by going under the bridge in the Rally Park. Inside, please see DAWN and pay for your campsite. $32/ night.

Easy to do.
John, I arrived early. How can I help?

Hi Doug,
I'm looking forward to seeing your old milk truck. I've been working on a '51 Chevy 3800 1-ton dually. Initially it was going to be our tow vehicle, but...

Photo with your AS?

Here’s an idea! Let Douglas Cunningham photograph you with your AS for a personalized wine label!

If this sounds interesting, we’ll be at Alumalina by Wednesday night. Happy to share more details directly. SippingWithCheryl@gmail.com.

Since we live so close, we decided not to bring the camper. We plan to attend seminars on Friday and Saturday.
