Blown away by Alumalina
This was my first - it was HUGE! And a lot of fun. The people, the park, and even the weather all cooperated to make a great experience.
I MUST get Tommie Lauer's recipe for lemon squares - I just got the last few crumbs in the tray and I know they'd be a great hit for my staff. I stayed an extra day just to see more of the neighborhood and spend more time with others who stayed over too.
Looking forward to Spring - where do I sign up?
Thanks again to everyone who made it such a remarkably fun rally - and specially to Al whose 12 year old bourbon has created the basis for a new hobby for me. mmmm bourbon mmm.
Paula

Thank you friends.....
.....for coming, and making the fall Alumalina such a success. It would not be possible without you. It takes great people attending to make a great rally.
Trust me, there were many people working to make it what it was, and the list is very long.
The Cove went all out to accommodate us. Having full access to the meeting hall, pavilion, and the lounge was a huge bonus. Rally style parking is unique and was new to many but was well received.
Can't say enough good things about the folks that helped with the meals....hot dogs, Possum bog (thanks Ronnie), fish fry, coffee, breakfasts, the kids pizza party.
Games, seminars, RITA, the clean up crew....THANK YOU.
The door prize contributors, you made Saturday night even more fun. Thank you Melinda for all your beautiful handmade jewelry, you went the extra mile.
Our sponsors really came through for us once again, PLEASE be sure to drop them a note of thanks. You would be doing me a big favor.
For all you high rollers, THANK YOU for contributing to the raffles, they allowed us to have a small rally fee and still come out in the black. We have funds in the kitty to kick off the next shin dig.
The photo journals, the keepers of the memories, the high flying drone. Looking forward to seeing it all.
Can't leave out mother nature, she really came through in a big way.
3 people really propped me up....my high school sweetheart and wife of 40 years Susan. And Terry and Annie, our neighbors and great friends. No way it could be done without these 3...
So....bottom line: I heard no complaints, no one left early, a fine time seemed to be had by all. We all declare it the best Alumalina ever....thanks to EVERYONE.
Looking ahead, I already have the dates reserved with the Palmetto Cove for our Spring and Fall rallys. I must check a couple things before I post them but they are done.
THANKS EVERYONE FOR MAKING THIS A FANTASTIC EVENT.

A BIG Thank You to the event planners and...
all of our new friends.
Steve and I are grateful for all of the work that was put into planning and executing Alumalina. We could not have had a better time anywhere. We planned events for years during our working years; and understand the work involved, and we never had anything go as well and be as fun as Alumalina.
Also, all of the people we meet were super fun! We are already excited and looking forward to the next Alumalina!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I don't think I have ever seen better or more gracious actively involved host than the folks at Palmetta Cove. I am sorry for them that they had the I am sure very expensive plumbing issues. Looking forward to returning for another visit.

Lemon Squares....
While I am so very happy that I have been given credit for the lemon squares........honesty suggests I allow the real cook to share with us their identity.....I brought the pumpkin pie.....from Costco...LOL
Let me see if I can find another doggie for tomorrow...or sometime....

Alumalina 2016?
Is it time to start looking forward? The venue at Palmetto Cove was nice in several respects. Because we were all close together this leads to more interactions IMO. The solutions to the cell phone issue and the WiFi are being taken care of I am told, so this will be great to attend next year.
And, it will be "Doggy Photo Time" LOL

A fine time was indeed had by all. I counted 12 empty sites out of 148. We were allotted 135. Some were taken by the campground hosts, some were taken by folks already there (SOB's), and there were about a dozen who contacted me with last minute cancellations. So all in all, a very dedicated group.
I, too, thought the Cove was an awesome venue. The rally style parking brings much camaraderie to the event as opposed to being spread out over several acres of trees.
I have had the Spring and Fall dates with the Cove already set for several months now, just waiting to unleash the beast. I need to tend to 1 final detail and will soon announce the dates.
There is a new cell tower up, just down the street. It is not energized yet, but will be soon. And improvements are being made to the wifi system, as well as the plumbing and electrical systems.
Stay tuned for more.......

Alumalina 2015 Fall Edition Movie
I hope you enjoyed the Alumalina 2015 Fall Edition video teaser I published a week ago. The final production is now finished and a link to it on YouTube appears below. Thanks to everyone who participated for a terrific fall rally.
