One of our fellow forum members upgraded his air conditioner, and asked me to see if I could find anybody that could use his old one. It's a Carrier Air V, 13,500 btu, without heat. He'd probably be happy to get a hundred bucks for it, and I can bring it along with me when we come down on the 29th. It works great, he is just going with a 15K heat pump.
He also has a couple of rebuilt roof vents and a Fantastic vent from his upgrade, if anybody needs them, he'd let them go pretty cheap as well.

Now, does anybody have any requests for any kind of seminars that we can do, or any tips they would like demonstrated? I'm one of those people that feels guilty unless I sing for my supper.

seminars

Well, maybe not a seminar. BUT I would love some pointers on- removing a newer fridge to replace it with a restored vintage one, how I will be able to patch my floor by the door, and what the steps are to remove my bathroom to get two roof segments repalced, and the rearmost floor. I'm not looking for more than advice from someone who has done it before. John

Is there any furnace preventive maintenance? We have rarely needed to use the furnace but wondered if there is pm needed that owner could do.

PM sent on the AC, could you bring the vents with you for us to look at, too?

Oh, Terry.

It's okay just to relax and visit with folks, ya know.

I'm sure there will be tons of folks, many who have not yet met you, who will be tapping your immense expertise on all things AS informally at this rally.

I would ask you to demonstrate how to clean a Fantastic Fan .....except we now have a brand-new one, all shiny and bright, courtesy of Fantastic Fan. The motor went out, we called them and they sent a new one. Cost of shipping, only. Such greats folks there.

Time is getting close!

I hear brains are full of nutrition. Had an aunt in MS who used to spoon the brains out of fried chicken heads. A true story. My grandma had chickens in a pen in the backyard. Would wring their little necks and butcher them to fry up on sundays.

The whole-wheat version, with 1/2 cup cooked steel-cut oats & quinoa. Wheat bran on the outside.

Was researching something the other day and saw a comment from a person who made a 100% whole wheat bread, with the added wheat gluten. Her report was a loaf that was light and airy, unlike most which are quite dense...too dense for me.

Might have to try that, but don't know that I will do that for the first time with charcoal, as a longer baking time might prove challenging.

FWIW, anyone who didn't want to use the 3 tsp of vital wheat gluten in my recipe could leave it out.

It is the commonly occurring protein found in bread, as I understand it. It makes a better, lighter loaf, which keeps better over 3-4 days.

Hey, Carol and I are REALLY looking forward to this Barestream Rally!

Oh, wrong thread. My bad.

Don't forget to let me know if you can bring a tent for the food area.

And be gentle! I retire April 1st (no April Fool's joke) so I will probably have some ailment by then. Like a big s*#t eating grin stuck on my face.

Congrats on the upcoming retirement Brad, but to be honest, I thought you were already retired, since you turn up all over the country. We will try to be easy on you. (nah, April fools. We will show no mercy).

FOLKS: for once, Brad is right......we need tents, so bring one if you have one. And since he will be retired he will have plenty of time to put them up and take them down.

OK, I'm confused.

Brad, who is Darrell?

Brad, I got a hollow log saved for the fire pit too, its named Hothead.

And John, does Susan know about Bonnie? Oh I just figured it out Clyde pulls Bonnie wherever she wants to go. Nevermind. A Dodge Ram Cummins Diesel named Clyde? You need to get out of the county more often.

What we need tents for, I'm towing a trailer?

Got a DO idea in my empty noggin trying to find a plate, knife and fork.

Back to our regularly scheduled program.

Gary

We need to order up some warm-ish weather for this here shindig, too.

Enough cold, rain, sleet and snow!

Lonewolf doesn't think they will be able to make it. They were going to be the second vehicle allowed at our site.

TouringDan will now be that second vehicle at our site.....unless something changes and Lonewolf is still able to come. They have first dibs.
